The amazing success rate of quitting analogs by switching to PVs has been well documented on this site. I've done it pretty much effortlessly myself without any desire or curiosity to smoke an analog in almost four months. But I wonder if breaking nicotine addiction might be easier when giving up the PV than by giving up analogs cold turkey. I suppose anyone who has actually done this would no longer feel a need to participate in these forums, so first-hand revelations about PV quitting difficulties will probably not be found here.

Some of us who are in denial about the gravity of being a slave to nicotine addiction seem to compensate by making a fetish of our delivery devices and a ritual of their care and feeding. It might be that by embracing the esoteric elements of the vaping experience we've added to the difficulty of quitting nicotine altogether should we decide to do so.

Or maybe not. Maybe, after giving up the expense, tars, ashes, smoke, additives, toxic and carcinogenic byproducts of tobacco smoking, giving up the endless fiddling and fussing with our vaping toys could make the idea of becoming free of nicotine addiction more appealing.

Most likely I'll never be able to answer these questions myself. Now excuse me while I top off some carts and blow out some attys.

The difficulty is entirely up to the individual vaper. You can choose to start on a high nic liquid, and slowly reduce your mg/ml until you're vaping nothing but juice and flavor. That's actually been my plan from day 1. Once the nic is slowly weened away, the vaping doesn't really matter. I imagine I'll still enjoy it, as my addiction is largely the hand-to-mouth; but it won't kill me, like cigs would. With no nic liquid, I can completely mix juice myself - even the expense becomes absolutely minimal.

You certainly make a very compelling point, and it's something I hope people consider. In some cases, it really is a matter of life and death. Has anyone else seen the video of the guy using a .... to take "super hits" of his ecig? Clearly, someone with no idea of the affect of nicotine on the body. I've always been a strong believer that many drugs can be used safely if you are properly educated - it's the lack of education that concerns me.
