The Steampunk and the Engine (in my case, the single-coil Engine Nano) do look like they were made for each other.
I actually meant to order the Nano and now I am not sure which I have. If it isn't the Nano, there might be some overhang. Oh well, we shall see. Love the combo though.

The Engine and the Engine Nano are the same diameter, but the Nano is the single coil version.

@DebbieNY - Thank you so much for calling to my attention that there was a difference in the OBC Engines. It turns out I had ordered The Engine, but I opened a ticket and they were able to change my order so that I will receive the Engine Nano. I owe it all to you.

@PJReid , I still consider myself a novice at building/wicking (and I am lazy about coil/wick maintenance), so I try to stick with single-coil RTAs as much as possible. The Engines (from all accounts) are stupid, easy to set up. :thumb:

BTW, the Engine MINI is 22mm and dual coil. ;)

I too bought another 120 Steampunk almost immediately, as I loved the first one so much. I got gunmetal/silver as that too will be the mod for the Engine that arrived with the tesla (I didn't realize I was buying a kit, LOL) and I'm glad it's stupid/simple/easy to set up as it will be my first build from scratch! I hope.

I can't say I've enjoyed a mod more than this one, and I haven't as exhaustively ah, tested and then kept, various other mods, I've only had about 5 batteries but this one blows everything out of the water, at least for me. Finish holding up well, have to handle carefully due to battery fixture, but that will be fixed (hopefully) with a wrap. It won't be so pretty, but the main thing is, it will allow me to be a bit less... gingerly about the mod, with respect to the battery door.

Truly an awesome mod however. My zelos kit just arrived, I think I will be charging it up today to see how it performs in comparison :) Wanted a backup small mod to carry around with me in my purse :)

But yes, I am singing Steampunk's praises in all directions :)

I've thought about wrapping mine with a clear wrap but I don't know how that would work with the design on there. I don't think it would lie flat. So far I have managed to keep the finish nearly perfect (except for the bottom), which is a first for me, lol!

So you are having trouble with the battery door on yours? I have been watching mine closely for signs of wear because that seems to be a thing with these bottom-door mods. My Alien and my Fuchai 213 both failed in a pretty short period of time. Well, they didn't actually FAIL, but they both became loose and when I set my mod in my car door handle they pop open when I go to take my mod out of it and I have to put the batteries back in. I like the Steampunk's door design a whole lot better than the other type but I can definitely see where it will wear out over time. Too bad there isn't some kind of latch on there, you know?

Yes, I wish there were a latch or something. I found steampunk wraps on Amazon and got a nice, black, rubber one, for drops. To be fair, it was another user who found them, I just followed her lead :) It's shaped correctly, down to the designs on the mod, so even though it's black you can still see it's a steampunk, and I like the idea of some corrective dropping action (if it happens) not being such a big deal, though apart from the battery door it seems rather indestructible. :)

I mainly bought it for the door, though, to assist it in remaining closed at all times. You don't want a battery door that's just... too happy to open, at times.

I only do single coil builds too, the RBA I'm using atm had a single coil already installed. All I had to do was wick it & when I use my ego one RBAS they are already built too. My arthritic nerves like things simple! :)

I've only ever seen silicone sleeves for the Steampunk on Ebay (I was probably the one you heard about them from, Anna). They aren't cheap, but well worth a little insurance for finish and battery door worries. I got the semi-transparent (clear opaque) one for my precious copper beauty (I have 3 Steampunks now).

I saw those silicone sleeves on Ebay but haven't made up my mind yet. I hate to cover this up because it is so pretty. The battery door seems very secure on the one I am using. I haven't opened my backup brass Steampunk. I will open the copper one when it arrives and hope that the door is equally secure. I have a little Innokin Smartbox for stealth vaping when that need arises. I am so happy that I came here and read the forum or else I would never have known the Steampunk existed. My favorite mod out of many! Thanks to you all for that!

these mods are so beautiful i just can't bear to cover them up. i get the battery door issue. cuz it's happened to me a few times. but disguising their natural beauty is just sacrilege. so i put some transparent tape on the battery door latch, and it's practically invisible. :thumb:

That's cool that the wrap has the design on it! VERY cool that it's rubber! :) Yep, doors that are eager and happy to open are definitely not good. :D

I just bought a sleeve on Amazon that was exactly like the ones on Ebay for $10.95 with prime shipping. It is only available in black, which is the downside but I had some points which made it too good to pass up. If I like the sleeve, I will get the opaque one on Ebay. I will post a photo when it arrives.
