I too have that question... It looks lovely (still not buying anything this early, LOL). I hate covering mine with the sleeve, but it really is super handy. I am going to wait and see how Numsquat's turns out as far as cutting it to be mostly the battery, then hand mine to my husband for some modification he did most of a medical illustration degree before computers really took over and he went into engineering, I'm sure he'd make something pretty out of it.... though I might wait a week or two to see if I drop it (hard) again. :)

Well, it didn't go well with the sleeve. Was going to take pics and such but almost from the beginning I didn't things would work out after putting on the sleeve.

First, the sleeve itself. It wasn't bad. Matched the mod well, went on easily, protects the mod well. First issue was, of course, it covered the mod, took the pretty away. It was also a bit difficult to change batteries. I had to take the tank off to flip the mod upside down and pulled bad on the wrap (sometimes it seemed a little more difficult than it should be). The final issue, which played out in the rest of my "changes", was that the wrap was a little loose.

The first trim was taking off part of the top above the diagonal of the "telecigs"/"nano 120w" band. The wrap edges would roll/fold back when taking it out of my pocket. And the wrap was still loose. I did end up trimming it down to just the bottom, right below the down button. It was still to loose to stay on the mod.

So it didn't work. I still think just a tight bottom wrap would work fine but this wrap just wasn't tight, or even snug enough, to do what I wanted.

Aww, well thanks for trying and reporting back! Now I am wondering if someone will come up with some kind of bottom-only wrap for these bottom-door mods. That would be awesome! They would definitely need to be a tight fit, but that shouldn't be a problem with silicone.

@numsquat - Thanks for trying. I still haven't had any battery door problems. The cover is okay and I will definitely use it if I am outside on the stone patio. Learned the hard way that mods don't really like being dropped onto a stone floor. I murdered an Alien that way.

I'm sorry to hear that... You are correct, the wrap is a bit loose. I can turn my mod upside down with my Nautilus 2 tank, no problems, and getting batts in and out is not too bad... I have noticed that if I squeeze too hard on the fire button, it can cause a ripple effect and the lower part of the sleeve, which holds the batteries, gets looser, and sometimes the battery door will disconnect the slightest amount, and I have to reclose it. I still really like it for battery protection, but if I were to start over, I'd probably go with the clear tape option, but since I am STILL a bit of a klutz, I'm using the sleeve, mainly for protection from drops. I'm not going to tape it on top of that though, I just am careful when vaping....

I guess, since all steampunk items have a fatal flaw, I shouldn't have expected ANYTHING to be a complete fix.... With steampunk, the inability to fix the fatal flaw, only manage it, is integral to the plot...:D Don't want to derail the plot on my vaping experience....

Ha! A "murder mystery" vaping experience! :D I just had my very first battery door fail yesterday, after more than 3 months of extremely heavy use. Still no dings or scratches on my mod (AMAZING!!!!), so I opted for a little piece of clear tape to hold the door secure and so far so good! I will just change it when I replace the batteries. I am fine with that. The chip is still working like brand new, which more than makes up for a wonky battery door. :)

Yes, the vape is amazing. I probably will opt for a bit of clear plastic tape on my silver steampunk, when my new Kabuki tank gets here.... I really want it to be beautiful, but I'll probably drop it on my second vape or something. :( The good news is, the Steampunk really seems to survive droppage pretty well from what I've seen on this thread. I'll probably shatter my glass tank, though.

*Just bracing to prepare for possible impact*

IDK, guess I'll see. But I agree with you that *despite* the battery door, this is an extremely functional, awesome piece of equipment/art. :)

Wow! How long have you had it?

I was like the second or third person on ECF to get one. I won it a few months ago. It goes everywhere with me, being in the desert, as you are, you know about sweaty hands :)
Between my wedding band and sweat, my mods take a beating.
This is why I usually only use mech mods, I can polish the scratches and dings out of them, this one not so much because its plated zinc alloy. :)

You sound like me! I play vape dominoes frequently, lol! It's such a sickening feeling when you know one is going to hit the ground, and then checking to see the extent of the damage. I always worry about my tanks. I have done some horrible things to them due to droppage over the years, lol! :D

We got ours around the same time, beginning of May. Mine still looks new, but of course I live in a waaaaay milder climate than you do!
