Hey salem, I was just popping in and out of a few forums a little while ago and happened to think ... boy nothing is happening anywhere tonight except at our forum on Vapor Junction. And its not my forum, its our forum. Nice place to hang out and I sure wish more of those 15,000 people would stop and visit with us!

But no, I sure wasn't aware of those numbers. That is cool beans!!! But its all of us who make this forum a fun place to be. Certainly not just me.

And toto, my list wasn't necessarily in my favorite order ... I mean, who doesn't like ice cream? And I kinda suspected you were a Nursie too. I'll tell you, I don't know what we would do without you ladies and men and the hard work you do. I have nothing but the greatest respect for all nurses!

TT

Now TT I would not say all nurses. They are not all created equal and I have seen my fair share of not so good but they do seem to be the minority in the field thank goodness :)

Been helping hubs wash off grout glazing while you guys were here having fun without me!! Well, don't feel guilty and offer to help now...it is too late. Now it has to dry again and then tomorrow am gonna give it a vinegar/water wash....if you want to help then you can.

Love the Good Night Irene video. My mom had that on a 78rpm record when I was a kid. And my oldest sister who does not swear (she's the weird one of the bunch) always says "Good night Irene" whenever she is amazed at something. Brings back memories.

Well, I am thinking I need to get the kitchen cleaned up a bit before bed time. There is a layer of grout dust on everything.

Will be thinking of you tomorrow SC. Hoping all the poking and prodding proves nothing serious.
And Salem, hoping you are yourself tomorrow--maybe another night of rest will totally cure it.
TT--glad to hear you are improving.
Gramva--your hoof and mouth disease is chronic and incurable--you will have these symptons the rest of your life, no matter how much you treat for it.

Whew, it sure takes awhile to get up to speed around here! What a chatty chatty group, I wub it!
Thanks for the video - I do love that old music. I grew up listening to old Hank Williams & Jim Reeves etc..
Once at an outdoor concert, a couple years ago, there was a wonderful band made up of elderly gentleman. They played all sorts of really OLD music, and my friends were mocking me because I knew the words to every song...
I guess I raised my sons right because they still think that you're only allowed to listen to Hoyt Axton & Hank Williams (Sr.) if you're on a camping trip...

Eeeekkkk..... I like a variety EXCEPT country lol I just never have been able to get into country music. At least the newer stuff does have less of a twang but still....... eeeekkkkkk.....

I've heard lots of people say that. I am opposite - I don't like much of the "new" country. The really old stuff is pretty raw, and about simple emotions. Songs like Jambalaya or Crazy... are fun to sing along to...
But then again, I also like Disco and Techno :)blush:) music - so - taste is what it is!

When I was a kid out in the southwest desert of New Mexico (circa 1946) we could only listen to the radio at night because the air was so dry and so much static that you couldn't pick up anything during the day. And what radio reception we got wasn't real good. But a guy who worked for my dad fixed me up a little radio and I used to make a tent out of my blankets at night and sit there and listen to Louisiana Hayride and I seem to recall being able to hear Grand Ol Oprey sometimes, but I might be wrong on that.

Sometimes I would hear what I later learned was Bluegrass music, but I don't remember if that's what they called it back then.

So techno, I know what you mean about knowing the words to all those old songs and all the really great singers and players! I loved listening to that. Wow, you guys have brought back a flood of memories tonight.

One song that always brings back childhood memories and emotions for me is Ravels Bolero (sp) :) Always makes me think of my mom :)

Oh and she listened to people like Patsy Cline too :)

BOLERO-RAVEL - YouTube

I would challenge anyone to listen to that song and not feel good afterwards :)

On a different note...I had parents who loved country, bluegrass and whatnot. I developed this tolerance to all sorts of music. My son went through a phase of classical music instead of the death rock (whatever). I don't really like Rap crap. No offense to anyone.....I just don't get into it.

My parents really didn't like music much, and the only albums I had to listen to (back in the far ago 60's) were my grand parents old records, and my older sister's Simon & Garfunkel. I actually like many different types of music - but I don't like anything too loud. I really like to be able to hear the artistry and beauty of the instruments & voices.
I was lucky my sons didn't get into Rap. I have heard very little of it I like, but mostly because of the intense negatives in the lyrics.
I briefly dated a Texan guy when I was 19 and he made me listen to "Texas Music"...which I still like even though he was a jerk...
