Can your air conditioner keep the inside air clean? Since I've never had one, I don't know how they work...but their name implies they could "condition" the air for you?

(sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but we don't really use much air conditioning up here, except for shopping malls & businesses)

I wish I could send some of our rain your way! I just emptied the rain gauge again tonight. Over 10" in the last 3 days. And this is after more than 5" from Irene last week! Flooded roads everwhere.

Anyway, it's my bedtime too. See you tomorrow.

Oh! BTW, would you hate me if I say I hate the Cowboys? I was born in Washington and have spent my entire life a Redskins fan and was raised to hate the Cowboys! I have burgundy and gold in my body... well almost, my blood is red and my pee is yellow, but close enough!

No Padre. I wouldn't hate you.

I'm really more of a Saints fan anyhow.

And I know you LOVE the Saints!!!

Boy, that's a tough one techno. We use heat exchangers instead of "air conditioners." I have a separate one for the upstairs and downstairs. (That way if one goes out we can still survive in this house). The air does go through a filter but it really doesn't help a whole lot with things like smoke in the air.

Right now my eyes are watering and I've been sneezing quite a bit this evening.

I sure wish we could get some of Padre's rain down this way and I'm sure he'd be glad to be rid of some of it.

I guess the thing that's making it so bad is that all the fire departments are helping each other and those poor guys and gals have to be exhausted. They stop one and go on to another. Their amazing people!

My husband used to yammer on about something called heatpumps that he claims are better than air conditioners. Sounds similar to what you're using. Dang, not much you can do except ride it out I suppose.
Those fire fighters are hard workers. They've got to be exhausted by now. We have a little forest fire going on across the bay now, over on the Olympic Penninsula, but it's a fairly remote area and isn't affecting too many homes. I believe it was started by kids doing fire works. Sooo totally avoidable.
Well, stay safe & sleep tight my friend. I hope it gets better tomorrow!

I like the Saints a whole lot better than the Cowboys TT, I am hoping for a good game tonight.

Air Conditioners, Heat Pumps, Heat Exchangers can't remove smoke from the air, you need a different air filter in your system to do that. The others condition the air by cooling it or heating it. I hear they are starting to control some of the fires, hopefully they continue.

Good Morning Pokey, glad to see your avi back!

Good morning Pokey, Padre and anybody else that joins in here. Pokey, I like the coffee cup but even more, I liked your cold day in Hell comment about drinking from something that cheerful! Now that's funny.

Padre, you're exactly right, I don't know of a heating or cooling unit that can remove smoke from the air.

And Pokey, that is great on your posts count!! Heck, your not that far behind me. You are way behind salem though, but she talks a lot. I'm the quiet type. How many "Likes" do you have? Probably one for every one of your posts because your always funny and cheerful and sunny and kind.

Still raining! i just saw on the local news that my normal way to work is closed due to flooding. Going to have to try an alternate, but I see flooded roads that way too!
My yard looks like a swamp, i saw standing water a foot deep out there! my poor dogs will have to swim to their "spot" this morning!

See ya!

Boy, that's a bummer Padre! Be careful out there.

I was just looking at the news and their calling for even more rain over the next twelve hours!

Looks like the flooding up in your area has already become a major issue.

Darn, hoping the rain quits for some and starts for others. Is there a chance you will have to evacuate Padre? Stay safe on your way to work....

Thanks for the coffee this morn Pokey. Yes, you could have left that damn cup in the cabinet. So glad to see Pokey back and Perky!!!!

Pray those fire numbers are getting smaller TT and SC....

Hiya toto,

Boy, I'd sure be in trouble around yours and Pokey's houses first thing in the morning! I wake up ready to laugh, get loud and have fun! You two sound more like my wife. The poor darling was born with a frown on her face that can freeze a joke in a guys throat in a heartbeat.

I think the guys and gals are slowly but surely getting control of the fires, but there's just so danged many of them. 1,000 homes burned in a week. That's a lot.

But really the flooding in the north east right now is even worse than our fires. Those floods can ruin many thousands of home and endanger a lot of lives and cause a lot of evacuations. I really feel bad for them with the weather their getting up that way. Their far worse off than we are.

Wonder where K-Space is with breakfast this morning. Hope he's not out there swimming down some back street.
