Good night you guys, I may or may not check in again after the news!

Alright, tg, the fortress is on your watch now. Do your best to keep things under control 'til TT and Pokey's shift starts in the morning. :)

Niiii*yawn*te everyone.

Well, you guys left me with a LOT of catching up to do! So much so, that I am overwhelmed at the task of even trying to summarize it up for the morning crowd.

Let's see...SC has been renamed DB and he's trying to pawn off rot-gut to Gramva.
Rehab nurses have sticky fingers. TT isn't ready for the morgue (thank goodness!) And somebody (Techno, I think) turned off the damn lights and that explains why I tripped over the cat coming off the porch and through the door this morning.

All I was trying to do is find some creamer for my coffee. Plain coffee, that is. It is morning, after all.

And on that note, Good morning TT and gang!
I think I need another cup to help me get through these posts! :)

But those shows were in this century TT.

But dahlin,' a LOT (as in most) of the places I had to spend my time didn't even have TV let alone programs in English. One of the greatest joys in my life has been watching football games and BayWatch and I could never do that until I retired. And just try to find re-runs of BayWatch today!

LOL, seriously, I'm still in the process of catching up on the "Raymond" series. I howl laughing at that family!

Hey, Good Morning Pokey and Everybody!!

I was scrolling through all this trying to catch up on everything too. Wow, I won't even try to summarize.

I think in the next four or five days we will be breaking an 1881 record for the most consecutive days with over 100 degree temperatures and the weather man was saying last night that the kind of weather were having (I'm sure he meant weather - not temperatures) would continue on through until November.

Wonderful.

My collection of various weeds and unknown growing things in the front yard has gone to a material that turns to dust underfoot. There's one tiny green place under a tree near the house where the hummingbirds have sat and pee'd and thats it.

But, my sweet granddaughter that I don't get to see very often is here, so for me at least, all is right with the world. This kid amazes me with her fine manners, intelligence, vocabulary, and for example when my wife cleans up after a meal, this child jumps up and helps and this is without a word being spoken. Its like she's from another planet or something. My son and his wife have done a remarkable job with her.

I'd love to post some pics of her, but I'm hesitant to do that because she is so beautiful for her age and this is the internet. Sure would like to though. Just to let y'all see what I'm talking about. She's an amazing young lady.

So Pokey how are you dong this morning? Did you work last night?

Hello TT!

No pictures needed, keep her safety in mind as you are already doing. You've described her beautifully as it is; she sounds like a real joy and treasure to have around. I know how you are enjoying her company and what happiness she brings to you and your wife with having such a good visit.

No worky last night. Did a lot of weekend time, so off for a few nights. I am having troubles getting re-oriented, though; flip-flopping between the land of the dark and the land of the living takes its toll in the sleep department. By the time I become accustomed to daylight hours, I'll be back to working another night.

I prefer night shift, though. I've just never been able to maintain the nightshift hours outside of work. :)

Your weather, sigh. It's been horrid there for so long. We've had a breather with a low system pushing through these past few days...the sun peeked out yesterday and you could see the change in the light. Summer's winding down a bit, but even so we're still into the Dog Days, I think.

I just saw my neighbor, the Judge, go by with his big, long cow trailer hauling a bunch of his cattle off. Probably getting them on down to the sale yard. Its just too dry to try to keep many cows in the pasture. Nothing is growing. Normally at this time of year I'd either be on the lawn mower in the yard or on the tractor and bush hog mowing some place in my pastures, but this summer I haven't done hardly any of that. Its real bad.

LOL, I've got some real nice CaramelCream in a 5ml Liquinator sitting on my Buzz and I've got that thing fine tuned just right. Some things do manage to work out okay!

Other than that I'm just waiting for granddaughter to wake up so we can eat cereal together and watch cartoons. Then when wifey gets to stirring I'll get her coffee made for her.

Boy, that working night shift like some of you gals do ... that has to be tough. I don't guess you ever get acclimated to either the nights or the days. That would be hard to do. For me anyhow! Of course for me, working itself was hard enough to get acclimated to and I generally tried to avoid it.

And now all my younger friends get up and go to work every day and keep on putting their money into that Sociable Securities and those people just keep on sending me that nice check month after month and I don't have to hit a lick to get it. That's MY kind of paycheck!!!!

Well since I know the Judge has hauled off a bunch of his steers to the auction ... I'd better run by his pastures and see what he's left for me running around out there. He never could count all that good anyhow. That last time he gave me 90 days I was only a guest of his for 87 days. I still laugh about that!

Good Morning All....Just checking in to say hi before I get busy with my day time stuff.......

Free: I am a goddess but not a juice goddess......you will just have to wait for Salem.

TT: Look at the bright side of the situation down there.....you are the most talked about state on the weather channel.....famous now. Everyone hears about you everyday. And not to sound corny, but my heart does go out to you....how miserable watching everything turn brown. We had a month of no rain and it drove me crazy. Watching every little green blob on the radar hoping it would turn into yellow and red and come here. My naked rain dances on the deck have done some good--we got an inch last week. You could try that.....just wait until grandaughter goes home. She probably would not understand. I know my neighbors, who have since moved out, didn't.
Have a good one, everybody. Will check later to see what exciting things are happening.

click. click. click. I keep flashing the lights on & off but they're not working apparently...where is everybody?
Good Morning! Just checking in to say Hello while the boss isn't looking...
We have sunshine today - pretty rare this summer - so I'll be sneaking out to work in the garden today. (It's great to work from home...people *think* I'm sitting by the phone but I'm really taking their calls from the back yard gazebo with a drink in hand!)

Good morning, TT and everyone.

I see another new face (at least for me)? Toto, very nice to meet you!

Nice to meet you too Pokey. Even more so since I can count on you to share a vape with me and be by my side while I'm passing over.

Does anyone else feel like...now that we're all used to the "Like" button, that we need more buttons to express our opinion of posts?

I wish there were also attitude buttons for the frame of mind I might be in when I poke a button. What might be a "lub it!" today may be a "kiss my ...!" another day.....

TT, Just a heads up....

Satan called....He wants his weather back!

I told him that as soon as your granddaughter went home if not before that you would get right on it! I know you don't want to have to be selling them cows, and ya need the corn for the still. I notice salemgold, gramva, sdh and some of the rest are drying up to nothing til they are becoming unrecognizable--gotta get some cooler weather, rain etc....

Hey Toto! The weather is improving in Wisconsin. It has been dry so I have not cut the grass for a month. However, I have a garden and the vegies have been freaking out! I have squash that thinks it is June. My corn is 4-5 inches long. I am even thinking about digging a retention pond for run off.

Our night time temps are nice 60's right now.

I do like the idea of attitude buttons such as "WTH" or "WTF" would be nice. The best one would be "This thread is a repeat 1000 times!"

That is great Sdh...We finally got some rain and cooled down here in Kansas. Our grandsons were here from CA week before last and were looking forward to shooting fireworks(so many illegal where they are). Everything so dry, burn bans etc here that they did not get to. Wouldn't you know, we had an inch of rain the very night they left. Amazing watching the yard turn from all brown back to green. Our garden was done for other than the tomatoes which hubby watered. Hopefully they will start blooming again and we will have some more yet. Every tomato that was on them ripened with the heat even if they were the size of a quarter.

Back to the "hot button" topic. I would truly like a button for those times that I don't have a reply or post does not really warrant a reply, but "like" does not fit the content of the post. I don't want them thinking I liked what they said if it wasn't something likeable, but that I read the post.

I was thinking of one similar to that as well. An example would be a review of suppliers. So many times I want to click "like" but it could be a misrepresentation of what I like. Such as did I like that they obtained improper CS or ?. However, since the community can not respond to these reviews it is hard to add support to the OP. I am thinking a "I concur" or "I agree button would be useful.

I think you're on to something. But we will always need more choices I suppose. I would like to see a button that says "I basically agree with you, but you don't have to be such an .... about it" ...because I sometimes see supplier bashing,
that could be easily taken care of by going through the right channels etc...

Oh no Gramva-You know your husband has the highest regards for you and your beauty. Course I don't think he has seen you without your teeth. Do hope he isn't the one that finds them or hears that you lost them out galavanting around at T's house. I just noticed how dried up you were becoming when I saw you sneaking out of the kitchen after you finished the good liquor for which SC got the blame....

When my 20-yr-old son is on the phone, he is forever saying "I hear ya". His translation is probably "I can't really say anything because my mom is in the room" :). But an "I hear ya" button could mean, "I see your point, whether or not I agree with you".
