I'm just glad they finally cut his hair .... I think when he was about 35. He sure looked like an Irene for a long time there!

I just saw on CNN where they had a "topless" protest of some kind in North Carolina and here I am in East Texas.

Morning BFFs: Catching up here. First--am wishing good health returning to both Salem and TT (that is my top priority)
Second: Don't worry about offending any one named Irene, Pokey. They will probably be too old to harm you much. (there, I took the heat off you and put it on me--that is what friends are for).
Third: My daughter, husband, and grandson were supposed to leave mom-in-laws house in Atlanta yesterday morning to fly in to Puerto Rico for a cruise......have been trying to call them but so far no answer. I am a little nervous...I am thinking that cruise ship is probably not going anywhere right now, and I do not know if they were even able to fly in.
Fourth: I saw the pictures of the (blurred for tv) topless people--they were protesting the fact that men can go topless and women can't. (I have seen plenty of men who should not be allowed to go topless either.) Sorry you missed it TT--but it was all blurry so you would have had to use your imagination.
Fifth: I am waiting for K-Space or Salem to show up with goodies for my coffee.

And finally, I really enjoy reading these posts...LOL on the comments about Second Irene Chance.

2 HOURS LATER: Holy Cow.......I have run everybody off....guess I really do need to shower today. Did not think you guys would notice. Clean underwear also--I promise.

We had those topless protesters in downtown Seattle I heard...that must be why the husband kept wanting to go "into town" yesterday. Good thing I sent him out to mow the lawn instead!

It's just the way we southerner's butcher it when we say it aloud that made me think otherwise

I've been practicing how to say it properly all day. I think I've got it down now and retract my earlier comments. It only has two syllables, right?

I was only messing with you Pokey, Irenes not really my name.
I do have a good friend named Irene though, and she has a great sense of humor about it, since we have, over the years done terrible things with her name...

I was hoping that was the case; but with my luck (and big mouth) lately, I had to do some backtracking....fast!

I have a friend from Rochester NY whose mom is named Irene...when she's down to visit she makes me say her name, over and over and over again. She just can't believe what it sounds like coming out of my mouth! Of course, she can't understand much else that I say either...LOL.

Yes, I understand that. I have foot-in-mouth-itis quite badly. There is no known cure, and alcohol makes it worse.
I work with a woman named Katrina who had to start going by Katie after the big New Orleans disaster. People would clear out of the conference room when some one yelled, "Here comes Katrina!". It was only funny the first 100 times ... after that ..just annoying!

Sheesh! I don't watch the news and need to check on Irene! I am now in the upstate but my son and grandson are still on the coast. We survived Hurricane Hugo and we evacuate for hurricanes ever since.

I just sent hubby to the store with a list if that tells ya anything. Yep still sick here. I must have picked up a bug or something and it just has me wiped out Back to bed but will check in later

And T, do not let that infection get out of control...cuz I have been there...and ya don't want to do it!!! Are ya listin young man?? And make sure ya do all them dang followups!! I know there a PITA...but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
