Day 4. I'm going back to the analogs for the rest of the night. These 510 atomizers are pissing me off. Any veteran vapers who would like to chime in are welcome to recommend my next PV model. I'll shop tomorrow, tonight, I smoke.

Can't see the rest of your thread...

What went wrong?

for ease of use get you a manual KR808-D-1 from vapor4life untill you can adjust to the 510

Agreed, cartos are the bomb for starting out, and sometimes they are even the bomb after you have been vaping a bit.

Beats dripping and the flavor is consistent.

I don't know what trouble you're having with the atomizers but have you tried blowing them out well? How many do you have?

True, I think if anyone suffers any amount of frustration early on, they really need to look into a cartomizer type of ecig before moving back to "open" attys.

I'd be happy to help you fix your problems with the 510 atomizer.
The last thing I would do is recommend a different model.

But if in the end you feel you need cartomizers, then just buy 510 cartomizers.

He's just going through withdrawals and looking for any reason to smoke. We've all been there, I know that I have. 510 cartos might not be a bad idea. I really like dripping with my drip tip. In the mean time a standard cart that I trimmed worked pretty well. I was pretty annoyed with carts and fillers myself. That was just a lot of hassle. There is no doubt a learning curve to these 510 attys but once you find what works for you it's a pretty enjoyable ride. I can honestly say that I don't want a smoke which I have never been able to say when quitting in the past.

I agree too. About the cartos they make like so much easier.
Later after you are accustomed to vaping and not nervous about atty's flooding and batteries dying . You may look back into dripping your atty or stuffing your cart. I do it now a lot , I play with different things and cart mods. But I always have cartos waiting for me.

Don't give up. The first few days can be tough, hang in there. You'll get used to the equipment. The 510 is supposed to be a popular PV, that's one of the reasons I got an eGo. It's basically a 510 on steroids. It's been working really well for me but I have already adjusted to dripping. I actually don't really like carts much.

What is the specific problem you are having with your attys?

Got to a point where they were dry or flooded, no middle ground. No vapor = unhappy lady! Blew them out and placed both on paper towel overnight, working fine today. I think using the "blue foam" that I purchased yesterday may have contributed to the problem. I feel like I am starting a new relationship, and the PV and I are still in the "getting to know you" stage. :p Feels like I have to constantly fiddle with it to get good results.
I'm gonna go look up cartomizers before I do anything else.

I want to thank you all again for the words of encouragement. It really does help to have a sounding board for my frustration.

Just a noobie chiming in. I vape AND smoke. I knew from the get-go, making a full and abrupt conversion wasn't going to work for me. There's so much to get familiar with. I'm on Day 3, practicing various way to load a cart: paper clip, tooth pick, pull the whole filter out. I want learn the whole process. I set up easy goals. I don't expect to be an expert on anything, anytime soon. Which is why I have the analogs on the table with me.

In 3 days, I learned I like to switch between 24mg and 18mg. I learned how to get a nice slushy cart filled without getting the nic spilled all over my fingers. Altho I do have a spray bottle of water on hand to clean up accidents. I learned to keep sipping water so as not to dry out. I learned to keep a tic tac in my mouth so I don't get throat burn. I ordered some VG liquid to try. I guess I'm not going to be a big fan of TH. I learned I can't squeeze glass bottles, so I ordered a bunch of plastic ones. I learned how to inhale the vapor to my liking. I learned I like Cappuchino, but not so much... Pina Colada.

I'm satisfied with my learning curve. I have a manual Joye 510. I'm keeping on journal on what works and what doesn't. I can always smoke an analog when I feel I've had enough schooling for the day. ha

I haven't tried cartomizers and I don't have any fancy stuff like PCC and all that. Eventually I want to try a pen size PV.

Hey Ms Kat... think about learning to vape like taking a chemistry class. You go into the room without having a clue about the apparatus or the liquids. You learn something new every class. You get familiar with all the supplies and ingredients. Then you learn how to combine everything so as not to blow yourself up :)

Best wishes, Ms Kat. Maybe you will give it another try. Ipps

ms kat, I'm a fellow Michigander who's been vaping since the beginning of Feb. and I've learned a TON since then. I just got a box of 510 cartomizers from madvapes a few days ago. If you want to try those you could PM me for assistance I'm on here every morning and when I break for lunch. Here's a link to the cartos at madvapes. Refillable 510 Cartomizers
They're $9.00 for a box of five. They hold a lot of juice and you can refill them several times before they're done for. Then you just toss them. A little more expensive but very convenient.
