I do a similar thing to nasca. I had silica braid in there that was managing to still cause flooding!

But really... Once you get wicking sorted the aquav2 is a beast! I had no machine oil, all holes drilled, no blemishes, a perfect product!

Only downside was me :p I sucked at wicking! Though I do find a spaced single coil at 1 ohm (istick...) works amazingly!

Just, how low down do most put their coils? Is there any advantages to being right above (2mm) the air hole? Or would a higher coil have other benefits? New to rebuildables here.

IMO the aqua V2 is hands down the best rta out there!!!!!!!! My Lemos are a close second for flavor.

I have an original and a FT clone (non OTM) and they perform the same. The seals on my OG are better and the chamber/base art is much more pronounced but that's about it.

Both have stellar flavor and really respectable vapor production. My RDAs don't even produce flavor as good as the aquas. their close but not quite.

I cut up the silicone cap from some cartos that I had laying around in my spares box, and trimmed those to fit and seal the unused channels. No need to keep changing with each re-wicking. I've had it going that way for the last couple months. ;)

I've always ran mine as a dual coil. Curious as to how vapor production compares in single mode? What would you say is the biggest advantage to running in single mode?

I don't run duals in my tanks, only in my drippers and that too if I'm chasing clouds. Even my duals are in the .6 - .7 range. My regular juices are 12mg and I run those in single coil mode at around 1ohm, 12watts. Biggest advantage for me is drain on batteries. I run 18500's in most of my devices, and duals chew up batteries too fast.

Yeah I'm not too sure I would get the satisfaction out of a single coil at 12 watts. I normally run duals on a regulated mod at about 30 watts. 18650 batteries so swapping out batteries twice a day is not a problem for me.

So what would you see as the advantage of running the Aqua V2 in single mode say over a Kayfun V4?

I build my Aqua V2 in single coil from .8 - 1.1 ohm and run it around 20W. Plenty of flavor and enough vapor for my liking. The advantage over a Kayfun V4 is airflow and flavor. If I want to run dual coils and get tons of vapor I break out an RDA.

Wow..better flavor than a Kayfun V4? The Kayfun has pretty much been the reigning RTA champion for years with regards to flavor. Don't get me wrong, I like my Aqua V2 in dual coil mode. Lot's of flavor and vapor. But I don't like it more than my Fogger V6 or Orchid V6. RDA's are just too much of a pain in the azz for me although I do own a few. I was just curious as to why so many folks here like to run the Aqua V2 in single coil mode.

A lot depends on the juice and nic level too, Waddle. I use Naturally Extracted Tobaccos and at 12mg they can be pretty harsh if run too hot. I find 12 - 14w work out just fine with the single coil.

If I vaped a simpler juice with lower nic ratio and/or higher VG level, I would boost the power up on the Aqua. I still run a couple original KFL's and love them for their flavour delivery. The Aqua compares to them at the level I'm running it at.

The difference, I can boost the Aqua up and increase airflow if required. I can't do that with my KFL's.

It's just personal preference but I get better flavor out of my Aqua V2 than my Kayfun V4. I'm fairly new so I've never tried any other version of the Kayfun. I've toyed with picking up a 3.1 or KFL+2 just because it's a classic but I think the lack of airflow would annoy me.

Interesting. Personally I never liked the KFL's because I vape heavy VG liquid. Wicking is always a delicate balance. The lack of airflow I also agree is a killer. However if you are only vaping at low watts then I don't think its much of an issue.

Would you say the flavor is superior in single mode vs. dual mode?

Guess I'll have to try the Aqua V2 in single mode to see what all the rave is about - thanks all.

I got my second "OTM" Aqua v2 yesterday and made a single coil build. Instead of splitting the wick in half and running half to the back juice channels as I usually do, I plugged the back channels with cotton. Rayon was used for the wick. The Aqua v2 has become my ADV!

Because dual coils vaporize the liquid and drain the battery faster. I am not wanting for vapor or flavor with a single coil Aqua V2 clone. BUT, now that I have dropped my nic level again, I will try the dual coil since 12 mg nic has no throat hit and I need TH. The KFL + clones aren't working with the 12mg for me.

Quite happy about using it in singlecoil mode right now, but really curious about the difference to dual coil. Must be like fogging the room, right? How about taste then? Doesn't lose taste with duals, I hope?

I haven't tried dripping yet, never ever but guess at the weekend I will. Is there anything speciql to be considered? I just thought, I'd put a dual coil in but I'm not that sure about putting more cotton onto the base....was there anything like that in this thread? Or is ther no need to?Think I forgot then

I run my dual coil atty's with dual coils and my single coil atty's with a single coil , it doesn't make any sense to me to buy a dual coil atty and adapt it to run in single coil mode . Why not just buy another single coil atty with all the choices that are available . I have my Rose V2's and Kayfuns for single coil use and I run my Aqua V2 and Magma with duals , I like to get the most out of what I've got . I can understand someone that prefers single coil atty's buying an Aqua V2 for aesthetic reasons but I think there are better choices to be had performance wise in that respect . I really don't care what anyone spends their money on or how they use it , it's just my personal opinion .

Aesthetics had a lot to do with my choice. That, durability, afc and ease of filling/re-wicking. I have my drippers for when I want to run dual coils. Personally, I don't like large tanks.

You have no idea how I wish they came out with a single-coil deck for the Aqua. My other RTA's are the Erl Prinz, Erl Nano, 3 KFL's and the Subtank Mini.

That being said, the Aqua does have it's dripper mode, so who knows, perhaps someday I will build it with dual coils. ;)
