I've been experimenting quite a bit with trying to figure out how to properly drip into a 2 ohm ego atomizer. I'm using a variable voltage and trying to find that infamous "sweet spot" with different flavors. Is there a good starting point for setting the voltage? Does it take awhile for the atomizer to "break in"? Because after about five good draws at 4 volts, I get an off taste and thinking it needs a couple more drips end up flooding. Is dripping an art form that ultimately gives you better satisfaction than using a tank or carto? Getting a little frustrated so any pointers are appreciated.

Mr cloud. I think it must be a very high art form. I too have been experimenting for a couple of weeks now. I have always been more mathematically adept. That is probably why I am not finding the elusive "sweet spot".
However I can tell you about ohms & voltage, milligrams & milliliters.

I'm new to all this myself, but I have found dripping to be my favorite way of vaping. I'm no expert, but I have learned a few things in the last two weeks. The new atomizer may have a coating of oil that you need to blow out. I blow through the end that attaches to the battery. Blow it into a napkin. One atomizer had tons of the oil. I only put three drops in at a time. Mine do leak at times, and I *think* that is normal. But I have found that when I only drip into a cooled atomizer it helps. I also learned to hold it horizontal or at a slight angle and not straight up and down. Cooling in between vapes really minimized my leaking. I get about four vapes out of three drops. I too had that bad burning taste with a new atomizer, but it will eventually go away with use. I get a sort of bad taste when the liquid is all gone, so then I drip some more. I also blow everything out about once a day to clean it. I really love dripping! That's the only way I've gotten huge clouds of vapor. Maybe someone else more experienced will come along and we'll all learn together.

I'm having the same problems. The juice CMOS out too fast and floods, mouth full of juice, gets too hot and burns, etc, etc.. I put it away for a week or two and tried again and it is getting better. I turn the battery down under 4 ( with a carto or tank, I turn up to 4.2. For me, turning the voltage down took away the burned taste and I try my best not to over fill. I think that you are using the same atomizer that i am. 4 drops is about the max for it. Any more and it floods and burns. I also clean it more frequently and it seems to help. Hold the atomizer end in a tissue and blow it out really hard 2 or 3 times every other day or so. About once a week I soak it for a few minutes in alcohol and blow it out and let it air dry.. Good luck and let me know if you find out any new improvements.

I have to agree with some of RJ's post. The next question, what are you dripping on and what is the device? That changes alot of things.

For example, I can use a new 310 (roughly 2.0 to 2.5 depending on where purchased) in a DCA on a provari and it tastes like c*** to me. Give it a few hours burn in and I love it. I can also use a phoenix (1.6 ohms) that I built on a provari and after 2 or 3 vapes, it is amazing. All of this at 3.7 volts.

A little more detail and we can probably help out a little more...

Took me a LONG time to learn this stuff, but I want to pass along the knowledge!

My bad, I see a 2 ohm ego atty...I would think that it needs a few hours to burn in like a 306. I love a 306, but what I will typically do is clean it first, load it with some juice, burn it a few times, vape something else, burn it a few more times, vape something else, and then come back to it. Some of the aftermarket attys have the oil taste that kills it for me!

After almost 2 years of vaping I still can't handle atties- there's a knack to it, and you either have it or you don't. I find cartos to be a lot more forgiving for everything (I use a bottom feed mod), and you can fit them with a drip tip to top them off. If I keep a carto wet it lasts me over a week, so it's cheaper than atties, and no maintenance.

I started vaping over three years ago or so. I started out dripping, then went through all the new alternatives. Now I'm back to dripping but with a slight variation. It's called the blue foam mod. It's simply taking the polyfill or whatever it's called out of the cart and replacing it with a small piece of blue foam. One or two drips at most on the bridge one or two on the foam and vape until the taste goes. it takes a while, probably like one cig. Then leave it until you want to hit it again. Don't drip and let it sit.

As for voltage I would say 4.2 to 4.5 on a 2ohm atty is my favorite.

Thank you all for your quick and helpful hints. I will try some of these techniques you've mentioned. Not too sure about ttrying to mod the atomizer since I'm such a noob but maybe will give that a shot later. RJ, I've noticed the same thing about the quality when letting it cool down for a bit... Much better flavor. Dirfm, I'm also using a provari so thanks for your advise too, maybe it needs to burn in a bit longer and I should try a lower voltage.

Well that's two props for the Phoenix and dca. Maybe it's time to try a different brand. Was not sure about the ego single coil 2.0. bought five of them and now wish I would've just bought one... Oh well:oops: I usually get a two to three nice drags from it before it begins to taste bad. Thought the nasty oil taste would have gone away by now. Thanks again folks for you input :thumb::thumb:
