Now I have to track down these LR cartomizers Kent mentioned!

Pulling your leg on some of that, Don, for fun - nice piece really :) But the LR 510 cartoz (my new desigation after I saw brandon use 'cartz' for cartomizer but I've been using cartos so I'll incorporate his 'z' there. Should communicate either way. ).... here you go. Backordered but ordered a few anyway.

510 LR Cartomizer for Electronic Cigaratte.

Wonderful job on the OP. The only things I didn't agree with were things I would consider personal taste.

For instance I like the taste in my 808 better. The flavors seem stronger. With some really powerful flavors, I agree the 510/eGo is better suited and I have to seriously thin them down to use the 808 on them. But many flavors seem weak in the 510 after having the 808.

Also, the 808 can make tons of vapor by adding 20 to 35% VG into the mix and still have plenty of TH.

I normally refill cartomizers a few times. After about 3-4 fills they need to be cleaned. I have cleaned them in the past, but it's a pain. Normally I use a cart about 2-3 days and then just get a new one. I throw the old ones in a box and when the box is full I might wash them out to use over, it just depends on how lazy I'm feeling.

As a newbie, I love my 808 model. I think getting started with the cartos is really easy and has made the transition from the smokes very smooth. My geek/nerd nature is starting to get to me, though, so I may have to try another model to experiment. From the forum, I think the hobby end of it helps alot of people with the transition. You guys are doing a great thing here, I'm proud to count myself among such kind people who share their experiences and knowledge freely with genuine enthusiasm. Thanks for this thread and all the help I've found here.

Don, there you go again, serving the vaping community as you so often do. :)
I'm wondering though about the lack of any mention of the DSE 901 which I love so. That's what helped me shed my cigarette addiction as well as many fortunate others.
I know that the last time we communicated you said that you were enjoying the use of the 901 atomizer. I feel I must speak up for my first vaping love.

That really depends on how you do it... I use a modified ePump that squirts exactly 2 drops through a drip tip (unless I press hard to get 3). I don't even have to look at what I'm doing, and it takes me about 3 seconds from start to finish.

That's pretty slick quasi. I like it!

Thank you, mistinthewoods (and everyone else in this thread) for your kind words!

As for the 901: Didn't see my "Afterword" at the end. I was late in arriving to the 901 fan club, but I'm here now. At the moment, it is my favorite morning vape (i.e., throughout the morning, not just during my wake-up coffee).

Later in the day, that 801 or 302 penstyle atty on my ProVape-1 hits the spot. [Kr8 cartos and 0mg chocolate mint in my 510 are my changes of pace all during the day and evening.]

Hello,Don
My name is Natalya.I am Russian.
I am new to the vaper world. I am currently smoking Capri 120 mm cigarettes and I like the long and thin look. Because of that, I choose for my FIRST e-cigarette the Pen style.
It seems like you know more about e-cigarettes and Pen style than anyone else. I have read practically all of your posts on "E-cig.Forum" and found them to be absolutely incredible and very informative.
From all that I have learned from you, my choice seems to be the KR8 XL battery + adapter (901 to 801?) + Joye 302 atts, still I do have questions and it would be my honor to talk to you on the phone because it is easier for me to speak English than it is to write English. I would truly appreciate your kind consideration to talk with me about e-cigarettes.

Warm regards.
Big fan of yours,
Natalya.

Natalya,

I appreciate your being a big fan! It is not my practice to interact with forum members outside of the forum (at least until we're gotten to know each other very well).

However, in the forum (whether in public posts or PMs), I like nothing better! So we'll just have to cope with the written word.

A penstyle atomizer with adapter on an XL Kr8 battery might be too long for you; it is for me. Your Capri is 120 mm; a regular penstyle (e.g., the Joye 302) is 155 mm. The penstyle atomizer (with a short adapter) on the regular Kr8 battery is about 165 mm; on the XL battery: 185 mm. That is long!

Why don't you start with the 118 mm DSE901 or 117 mm regular Kr8? I think the Kr8 battery is a wonderful foundation for many slender e-cigs. One of my favorites is the 901 atomizer on that battery (no adapter needed): about 130 mm long (and, unlike the penstyle, the same slender length throughout). You may find that you love cartomizers and won't even bother to use other atomizers with the Kr8 battery.

In my review, I provided links to many Kr8 suppliers. Rocky Mountain Vapor and especially Ecigsupply are inexpensive sources for the DSE901. Vapor Kings has additional color choices.

If I were doing it, I might order the $35 KR 808D PCC Kit and a $7 DSE901 atomizer from Ecigsupply.

Don't hesitate to follow-up with questions here or via PM!

Don

Yes Don, I agree that the 180mm device is too long!! You suggested using a Kr8 regular battery with the 901 Atomizer. My reasoning for choosing the XL Kr8 battery was because of its long battery life. It sounds like the the Kr8 batteries is the best one to use for this type of cigarette.

Why do you think that the Atomizer 901 is better than Joye 302? I have read in other articles/websites that the Atomizer Joye 302 produces more vapor than the others on the market. Do you have any thoughts or opinions on this?

Thank you for your help and suggestions.
Warm Regards,
Natalya

Many thanks for the reviews on these boards. You've already helped me save money on my first "real" PV. I ordered (for my birthday) an eGo kit from Tasty Vapor from the advice in the other advice for n00bs thread (that I don't have the post count to link to or post reply to). (Thanks to Data4 for the price point) and a couple of juices to boot.

You guys are a great wealth of info!

Stuberto, speaking for myself and others, you are very welcome!

Natalya, the 901 is not better than the Joye 302, it is just more slender (and not as long). Once you have a Kr8 battery, you can do pretty much anything you like with it. The new upgraded cartomizers (linked in the review) generate tons of vapor (rivaling the 510) and, on a true 3.7V battery (and with the right e-liquid), any good atomizer will put out lots of vapor. The regular-length Kr8 battery is 280 mAh; the XL is 380 mAh. However, I prefer the regular because of its length ... and because the XL does not fit in the Kr8 PCC (which I like very much). With two batteries and that PCC, you can go all day and evening, only occasionally switching batts.
