I ain't gonna lie here fellas... I quite like the look of the new Provari... I think the design is pretty cool... Like some kind of tribal things. Also somewhat reminds me of the flight path of electrons around the nucleus of an atom... LoL

Or the "Prison" used to hold the three bad guys in Superman...

I guess I'm few and far between, but I like it!

VW is for folks that don't wanna mess with calculations if their trying to maintain a specific power level on all their attys/cartos. Let the device do that for you... Convenient, YES... Necessary? Absolutely not... In fact you can be a lot more accurate with a provari I and a calculator if you're trying to achieve a gnats hind side wattage level. Just have to be careful when you swap attachments to go back down to 3V before you check the resistance on the new atty. sounds more difficult than it is. I like 8.5 watts, and I can get there every time with my VV Lavatube and a calculator :)

No, what I'm saying is that the Provari fires your atty while checking its resistance. So when you change devices from say 3 ohm to 1.5 ohm, if you leave it at 6V instead of running it down to 3v, you can pop that coil in your atty lickitty split... Poof!

This is from the manual, which leads me to believe that what you described won't happen.

I'd like to know if I'm interpreting this incorrectly. I'm not varying carto resistance widely and often check on an external ohms meter when I select a candidate tank from the masses - but still don't want to destroy cartos right out of the gate during an ohms check.

I don't know if what dam718 is saying is correct. I have thought about it before and I sometimes feel that my provari does fire the coils at a higher voltage when my voltage is set 5+ but it has never burned out a low res atty or coil. As far as I know, when checking the ohms it does fire at a lower voltage than what you probably have it set at.. although it might fire at a slightly higher voltage dependant on where its set at. The higher, the higher the test fire I'm thinking... But I dont think it ever test fires at 5 or volts.. it downregulates itself a bit no matter what voltage your at, in my opinion. Unless I'm wrong and it either fires it at or below 3.7... Or, idk, Dam could be right... I just don't think it does that.

It applies a very minimal voltage to check both battery & Ω. You can tell by vaping it while its running, there is insanely little vapor but it's still producing.

I can't say anything about it popping low Ω coils. I was running a 1Ω for awhile but avoided going to higher voltages, as it was just unnecessary for my tastes. I don't use store bought atomizers either so no idea on that field.

But from reading around the low Ω cutoff of the provari is desirable for those running high wattage. So I'm guessing as long as your not running a fabric wick then its probably not an issue.

As far as the 2.5 announcement, I'm kind of surprised its only an aesthetic change. That being said I don't think its horrible looking, but much prefer the look of the original styling.

I know it doesn't fire them at the voltage you have it set at but from what I can recall, (and this may just be because of circumstances with the type of coil set up I was using at the time and whether or not it was flooded/etc) from what I recall, it SOUNDS like its checking the ohms at a higher voltage when it is set to higher voltages. A couple of times when using regular old 510 atomizers at higher voltages, it has actually used up the remaining hit or two of juice when I was checking the ohms, and then I went to hit it and the atty would burn. Thats why when I check the ohms now, I always blow into the coils so they won't heat up the wicking material too much. Whether or not it is speculation concerning the provari ohm testing at a higher voltage when it is set at higher voltages, IDK. But I'm reporting what I have experienced.

To get back on track.... I feel ya Thompson. I like the new design for the regular sized provaris more than the old design. As for the new mini design... Its the same design as the old design but with lines on both sides of the tear drops now. I like it. I don't mind the lines and I wouldn't be above getting one of the new 2.5 designed provari minis. I don't know if I'll ever own a standard provari.. I like the mini's size much better. I'm not complaining about the new 2.5 designs though. I like them and I think the standard's design is a modern styled improvement over the old design.

I have a eVic with both VV & VW, and happy to give the VW away to anyone who wants it, 'cause I never use it. I know exactly at the top of my head where my volts need to be with whatever cart or e-juice, and it goes real fast. VW would be yet another figure-figure mental feat. No matter which system one opts for, the connoisseur user will make adjustments. Maybe if I were to vape the same juice in different carts locked into a specific VW setting might work for me, but I don't vape like that.

It could fire at higher voltage when you are pressing the button to get to the Ao screen. If you aren't hitting them quick enough it will sometimes fire. I kinda like the new look better than the lines on the full size v2. I think the teardrops of the mini look better than all. As the owner of a mini, a Vamo and a GGTS I can say that the mini goes with me everywhere. I take it to work, out and about, hunting.....there are two reasons the size and durability. It's smaller and tougher than the others, by quite a bit. I need it to be shirt pocket friendly for work but it also needs to survive falls out of that same pocket. Mine has hit concrete from 2 to 10 feet drops and you can't even tell. The Vamo's VW is nice and the menu setup is even nicer, but it's quite a bit longer in mini mode and also top heavy with RBA on it. I find it funny when people say they want a Vamo for out and about and use their Provari only at home. I'm exactly the opposite.

Any Provari owners want to give me some advice on my logo? I mean I did everything I could to NOT lose the logo but it is fading away anyway and Idk what to do. I almost want to buy a serenity mods cover just because the logo fade annoys me. Or i'm thinking about somehow getting it off completely.

I contacted Provape and they told me that my logo is fading but its always going to be there? They basically e-mailed me back and said something like... The logo fade is basically carbon fading away or something like that, but they told me the logo is still there and they lead me to believe that it can somehow be detected, just not by the human eye? Idk. I didn't understand. Either way, its going away. I can see little blotches of each letter missing and its fading more and more every few days. SO what are my options?
