All I know is that this is about a bazillion times more fun than I could have ever imagined.

DD, you hit a HOME RUN with this one. I have no delusions of winning, and am actually rooting for one (or seven) other folks, but you've basically turned a pretty crappy week into an AWESOME one. Thank you, Sir - and thank you all.

Saludas, amigos!

Any "sunkens" are welcome aboard Da DPL Express, while it still floats. Snake's tending bar and Kat's the Maitre'D. I'll try to keep this thing steady through the f!restorm for ya's.

The music is good and the drinks are on the house. So c'mon in and have a blast!
(Welp - so to speak)

:toast:

Good Morning all. You are so right with this one. And thanks for the invite but don't wanna join yall just yet. Hopefull I'll wait till yall find an island cause drinking with water motion just aint gonna cut it with me.

Good morning, BBers

It's a balmy -1* up here in cheddarland this morning. And you'll all (no doubt) be happy to know that you won't have too much banter from me today, as I have to go to the other side of the state for work. SHOULD be home again tomorrow morning

Y'all have a good day!

Yeah I hear that it's about 18° here in New Jersey from about 9° this morning and -3° with the wind chill. Keep warm and keep safe.

Sailing without a ship, me. Swimming to DPL's yacht. (He's got a lounge AND a casino.) And the Snake of Blue slithered as well.

...... and not a condolence card in site!

You have my sympathies -- if I get one more hit, I'll be out there swimming with you. :D I'm not a great swimmer, but I can tread water like a CHAMP. :D

You know, it's a funny thing.... When I heard rumors a few years ago that The Dark Tower might be made into a movie, I started rooting for Daniel Craig as Roland (The Gunslinger) -- he's got those blue "bombardier eyes". When you said DP has a casino, there stood Mr. Craig again as "Bond, James Bond."

So now my mental image of DP is cemented. He looks like Daniel Craig. :D In his role in "Cowboys and Aliens" of course; hat, boots, and of course the trusty 6-shooters. :D

Lessee... catching up. I doubt I'll ever be able to convert to base-10 for distance/length; I'm 53 and have been using base-12 for that my whole life, so that's never going to change -- I know what centimeters are only because I once had a child, and dilation is supposed to be "10 centimeters" for that enormous head to emerge; I never got that far, so instead, I have a 6 INCH scar down my belly. For those base-10 purists, I'm sorry, but you're already used to base-12 for time, so... no biggie! :D

Liquids, I'm slowly learning to convert, primarily because of vaping -- and maybe even small lengths that can be measured in mm, also thanks to vaping. DP, there are almost 4 liters in a gallon; a liter is 33.8oz -- I know this because I used to drink soda like it was my life support system, and they conveniently mark soda bottles with both measurements. (same goes for wine, which became my life support system sometime later, but we won't get into that. :D) Also, when I first started vaping, I put up a conversion table for the standard sizes -- 10ml, 15, 30, 60, 120, etc. So now when I see something in oz instead, I run over and peruse my table so I know how many ml we're talking. :D

Little Bird -- I *think* it was Little Bird -- I had one of those handy reference charts for hex when I first started getting interested in MS-DOS; so when I started doing web design some 10 yrs later, those hex color codes were easily understood -- I've tried explaining the hex colors to my son, who is otherwise a math genius, but when he sees letters where numbers ought to go, he has a screaming mimi. :D I've told him that hex colors are NOTHING compared to DOS segmented addresses, but he missed all that fun; he was in diapers at the time I was doing all that DOS stuff. :D

It's nearly noon here near "Hot 'Lanta," and it's a balmy 21 degrees. 8-o

At some point I have to venture out of this oasis of Sense and Sensibility, but I'm dreading it. Maybe I'll hide in here till at least round 3 is over. ;) Haven't had breakfast yet, and I really can't handle mass stupidity on an empty stomach. :D

The Enigma Battleship Drinking Game was designed by Mauricio Harion from Brazil, the idea is that your ships are made up of different shot glasses, each time you are hit you have to drink a shot.
