Well after all of this, I sat down and took it all apart, and built another coil...put in new wick, being sure that I've got it nice and covered on the juice holes.

Filled up the tank, no leaks yet.

Few puffs...gross rancid taste.

Figured...ok maybe the wick isn't fully saturated even though I gave it plenty of juice AND let it sit for 10min...

Another 10min later...rancid taste.

Couple of unflavored puffs...then rancid again.

So I decide to step away from it.

Go to take it out of the BBox...

And here's ANOTHER issue I forgot to mention:

When I take the drip tip adapter out of the BBox, the fit is so tight on the upper chimney that it takes the upper chimney with it!!!

So then it's back to a flooded atomizer, and juice all over the BBox!

If they won't issue me a full unit, I will seek a refund and wash my hands of the whole thing.

If your product or team isn't ready for a release, DON'T RELEASE THE PRODUCT!

Plain and simple!

I'd love to tell them where they can stick their apologies and excuses!

(And it bums me out that a few of you are having a good experience with this device...cuz clearly I got a bad one.)

Damn...I'm really sorry to hear this. I have been having a great time with mine. One chimney has a smaller groove that likes to eat o-rings a bit (I've been re-building 4 times a day to really find an issue/stretch the options). My offer still stands: If someone does not like theirs, I'll buy (1) flow off of a dissatisfied customer--PM if you'd like.

Despite the issue with the Chicago USPS facility (turns out the package missed a few scans along the way), my Odis Flow is out for delivery right now. After reading HBcorpse's horror story, I'm not getting my hopes up.

There's a good chance yours will be fine, and you'll have the experience others have had.

This morning, I feel a little remorse at being so angry...

However, I definitely do not feel any hope for this atomizer.

Their infographic of the build mentions a 3mm coil, and @hobbes4 states the final production juice flow ports are larger than originally advertised...

This tells me the product was designed with a specific build in mind.

Over the last 6.5yrs of vaping, I've finally found my sweet-spot build and it works on everything else I have.

I'm not willing to change my build, and step into the unknown, just to accommodate this atomizer.

I feel an atomizer should, within reason, be capable of accommodating a range of builds.

Ruling out any seen or unseen flaws with my item, I just don't have hope that my favorite build will work with this device.

I am going to reach out to Odis and see if they are willing to do a whole unit swap.

If so, I will give it another try.

If they'll only replace the parts they feel are to blame, I'll likely be PM'ing you.

P.S. For clarity, my go-to build is:

Twisted 28g Kanthal
-7/64" drill bit (~2.8mm)
-5/6 wraps
-Averages a 0.55 ohm coil
-Wicked with Ko-Gen-Doh
-Juices range from 50/50 to 80VG/20PG
-Fired at 25 watts

----------

I run this build on
-Provape Radius (60W model)
-BBox Rev4b (60W model)

I use this build with:
-Calix v2 from ByLeo

-Calix v3 from ByLeo

-Kayfun v4 from SM

-Keras from Atmizoo

-Exocet from Hellfire

-Serpent Mini from Wotofo

-I have one KFL working with it

-And it even worked fine with my Insider, although it seems that build produced far too much condensation inside the BBox for my liking. Enough that I thought it was leaking badly.
I plan on checking out the "Tank-It" thingy from Steam Tuners, since it's a tank designed to house the Insider for other mods.

I've run a 2.5mm coil in the FLow with no issues. I think the key is to have tight cotton in the coil, fluff the tails before dropping the cap on. Fluffing again once the tails are cut and cap on, then priming the cotton inside and out before installing. I barely get any condensation, and the only leaking I get is the usual top of the chimney/adapter seep when pressures and temps change outside.

But, if one of your parts is defective, it would make a mess of things.

Just let me know after you contact Odis; you are my 1st go-to if you still do not like it--I do have an Insider to trade if that helps you out as well. Either way we'll get you vape-happy soon.

I build my Exocet just like you describe, with no issues. Same with the Flow.

It's so similar to the Exocet that I almost feel like I'm building on an Exocet when it comes to wicking, so I'm confident that's not the issue...really scratching my head on this one.

Yeah something has to be off with mine.

Oh I'm vape-happy right now! With my Exocet! Hahahaha!

Reaching out to Odis today.

I'll let you know ASAP.

Thanks buddy! Good to know people are having good times with this, cuz it was making me feel like a rookie!

I signed up for that rba this morning on fb. Excited to try, I really like the vertical coils for the aspire bvc. Didn't care for the wicking of the insider, tried the exo clone which was better but think the wicking of the vertical will be best, at least hoping.
I was super stoked for it until he announced the pricing and me then thinking about rebuilding it and not being able to dry fire coils and having to rebuild fresh each time etc. It's a great atty and like 80% to where it should be in terms of design. I love vertical coils but i'll deal with verticals on the Exo or Uno for now. The Exo can run verticals super easily but wicking is sort of a pain.

I was actually suprised by the price compared to all the others out there, $85, granted there isn't the deck etc like the others.

Yeah, I can see the difficulty in dry firing turning some off. If you leave the positive and negative long enough I could see doing it with a torch or attaching to another atty, but would be hard to leave the tails long enough to then reinstall.

It's basically a BB RDA minus the deck... exactly. Not a "bad" price but when i can buy a Hadaly or likely Entheon or Sentinel for that... c'mon... seriously!? Yea the Exo and Insider are overpriced as well... and i've learned my lesson with high-priced attys. I'll wait to try a clone or keep wrapping verticals in others for now. He's so close its just a shame it stopped short.

Man passed signing up for the ....... rebuildable (FB group) this morning and was thinking about a second hand Flow... but after hearing all this negativity... looks like i'll pass! lol

Please don't let MY experience tarnish your view of the Odis Flow.

The other people who have posted about it here are having a great time with it.

Mine just turned out to be a QC perfect storm.

Still no word from Odis.
