Another question: I've been out of the "trendy vape game" lately and just came back up to see the Exocet and Insider. Having now tried both I'm genuinely asking why all the hype? I get a better vape from my modified, cheap ... Kanger rba lol. This just hype-train stuff?

For me, 15w is overkill. I'm also still very much satisfied with my original Billet Bridges (BVC coils), along with the more recent Bridge for the Nauti coils.
My vape hasn't really changed at all since I began this journey, back at the end of 2011. Chasing absolutely nothing here.
I totally understand. I guess for some it's a constant game of more power or new "stuff". That said... these new atomizer systems for the BB are overpriced and under-performers. Big let downs personally.
I was happy using cartos, way back when, and had to literally be talked into trying a Bridge by the person who thought up the idea (Kataphraktos, since long gone from this thread). I initially didn't care for it, as only the older BDC coils were available back then.
After the BVC's came out, @Katdarling convinced me to give it another try. THAT sold me, and I've been thoroughly enjoying the vape ever since.
I love getting new stuff, and lawd knows that I have, but not to change my vape. Even my RBA stuff is built to similar spec (1-1.5 ohm, 9-11 watts). I feel pretty fortunate to not have "progressed". Happily happy, I.

LOL! I actually still almost-always have one carto tank loaded. I only hit it occasionally (one carto lasts MONTHS), but I truly do enjoy the vape still. It's different.

To be totally honest, I still long for the carto tank days...it was so easy and I loved my vape then...
But I've crossed into another world, and I can't go back.
I stayed on cartos well into the Kayfun era...then I got a Kayfun Lite.
Explosion of options! Not only could I customize my build (once I learned to build) but I could customize my tank in more ways than a carto tank!
This led to the purchase of my first Provari (v2.5)...then came the P3, where I stayed for a very long time.
My sweet spot was 28g, 5/6 wrap, 1.0-1.2 ohm build, at 10 watts. Restricted lung hits.
Bliss.
Same build once I got the Kayfun v4.
Then Provape releases the Radius.
I always strongly disliked the idea of a box mod. I never explored the Billet Box, but it was the exception to my dislike of boxes, since it was more efficient with its "all-in-one" design.
When the 60 watt Radius came out, and the option to build your own custom combo of colors was announced, I decided to get a custom Stealth Radius.
I didn't need the 60 watts, and continued to vape at my 10 watt heaven.
Until I was bored one day, and popped my regular build on my Kayfun v4...and put a second identical coil on the deck, in my first ever dual coil build.
That brought me to 0.5-0.6 ohms...which needed 25 watts to match the math of my usual settings.
Holy. Cow.
I had never tasted my eliquid in such fullness.
The dual coil set up was hotter, but the improved airflow of the Kayfun v4 was a good match.
Eventually I picked up more airy atomizers, like the Calix, Calix v2, and gathered more Kayfun v4's...
I have since perfected "my" build with 2-wire twisted 28g, 5/6 wraps, 0.5-0.6 ohm builds, and run them at 25 watts.
The Radius changed everything for me, since it had the 18650 power to last me all day.
Granted, a 40 watt Radius would have done the same, but I would rather have the extra 20 watt capability and not need it, as opposed to needing it and not having it.
I don't know if my vape will change in the future...I'm not a "clouds bro" and I have always been "behind the trend/curve" for a person in my age bracket of vapers (25 - 35).
I used to scoff at sub-ohm vaping, but Provape's safety gave me the courage to try, and I realized there IS a benefit to it...at least for me.
I've never been more satisfied with my vape experience as I am today.
Along the way, I also picked up some Rev3a's (hahaha "some"...to those who know me, it was more like a dozen inside of six months!)...

"So let's move to a rebuildable device made for the Rev3...now the power won't last me all day..."
Hence the reason I've decided to finally pickup a Rev4.
I'll be getting a 60 watt, since that's what they'll be making now...
I'll be using an Exocet, and will attempt to put my new usual build on it, to run at 25 watts.
So in the end, do I need the 60? No, but it's what they're selling.
Are the Exocet and Insider atties just hype train items? That's subjective...
But, along with the 40 watt and now 60 watt capability, those devices have opened the world of Billet Box to a larger group of customers who may never have wanted one before.
That means Billet Box will make more money, and potentially survive longer, which is important to me...and lots of other people.
I won't be running them to the extreme that I'm sure a large number of people will be, but that's their journey.
All in all, 60 watt necessity, hype train atties...don't matter to me.
It's just good to see the Billet Box is trendy (again), and getting some much deserved time in the limelight (again)...had they not Evolv'd (see what I did there?) from the Rev3a's, they might have faded into the background as a TootlePuffer device, and less people would throwing money at them.
Did they "sell out"? I don't think so.
I look at it as gentrification, or keeping up with the times.
Will most people use the full 60 watts? I don't know. But I do know that a 60 watt build isn't my cup of tea. I'm just glad the Billet Box was updated enough to meet my new needs.

The Exocet and Insider performance is indeed subjective. You're completely right with that. My personal opinion on them is that they are both good carto-RDAs that dont offer anything over the standard UNO or Racing/Kanger options in terms of performance (and ease of use for the Racing/Kanger - UNO's a ..... to use lol)... yet they cost many times more and seem to be a direct result of the sub-ohm-crew finding the Billet Box.
But hey, as you said... this 60 watt BB will draw in more customers and that's good for all of us BB users! Anything that allows BB to keep going and making their awesome product is cool with me! I just see 60 watts in a BB on a single 18650 as an "odd" thing. The headroom will be nice though for sure... and i'm sure i'll even end up picking up one as well. Here's to hoping Wotofo or some other decent, inexpensive company puts out some innovative BB carto-RDA's or new atomizer system solutions. Would be very cool!

Ol Skool Chime: DPL and I have pretty much gone thru this B Box adventure together. I'm thrilled to see 60w as the emergent Billet, but as he said, it's just about 50w too much for me. I'm totally kontent with my little 9-11w range, and was pleased as (a) punch(ed) back when kartos first hit the scene.
I'm not adventured into the land of the expen$ive attIEs for the B Box. The Nauti coils and BVCs with their mated bridges work oh so well.
Trendy? Hype? Who's to say, snow. As with every single other thing vape, it's all a bit of roulette.
The big positive on having DNA60's in the BB is we can run temp control with stainless steel. This is the only thing I am looking forward to this versus the higher watts (I top out at 28watts now).
I agree that these overpriced RBA heads offer nothing in flavor compared to the cheap kanger rebuiltable heads. I only got the doggy for easy dry burning with the 510 adaptor.
Disappointed with the DNA 60BB. I use nife52 wire and without a usb we cannot load any more profiles. There are 8 slots in memory. Why only offer 3 profiles!?
