Thanks for mentioning that. I just realized I screwed up. I read about the switch in the charger ad when I bought it but forgot about it when I got it. So I've been charging my batteries on the 3 volt setting without knowing it. That probably explains why I had such a low run time with the AW batteries. I'll have to report later what my results are on 3.6. :oops:

Thanks WitchWay - but I already have a Tenergy TL-100 on its way from Battery Junction:

Kit: 2 x RCR123A 3.6V 880mah Ultrafire Protected Li-Ion Batteries & TL-100 Universal Li-Ion Charger 16340

Don't feel bad, the only reason I mentioned it was because I did the same thing :ohmy: They must be preset to the 3.0 setting. After I figured out to switch it, it hasn't given me a problem since and between hubby and I, it is in pretty much constant use.

The UltraFire protected batteries are a bit tight in it, but they do fit, just have to be careful putting them in and taking them out. Every once in a while I have to gently pull the negative spring back out a bit so the AW batteries are not loose. I have two of the same charger and if I was smart I'd get the second one out and use one for the AW batteries and one for the UltraFires :)

I have batteries with NO protection ( spring has to be stretched !) and double PCB batteries , I designed it to fit as many types as I could . so some batteries require the spring to be longer .
I have not had tight batteries yet ??
What model are those Ultrafires ? did you get them from me ?

BTW on the next production run of the BUZZ I am going to machine it to fit 18350 batteries that are 1200mah , I could not get that done this time around .

Oh no Buzz, I was talking about them being tight in the charger :) Sorry for the confusion!! All my batteries fit in the Buzz itself with no problems.

Just the inside , I need 1 mm more on the inside to fit the 18350 , The machine shop I was working with wanted a ridiculous amount of $ to make that change so I opted out on this run , I had to get parts ASAP !

Interesting, I never heard of the 18350 until now. I did a Google search on them and it seems not many places carry them. I only found 2 places that have protected ones, Eastmall and Madvapes. Eastmall's are specially made for them and Madvapes site wouldn't load for me so I don't know what kind those are. Are the batteries you're planing on using protected? Also what brand are they?

Here's something I don't understand, but hopefully one of you will:

How come when I put the voltage adapter I ordered with my Buzz on my Prodigy V2 with fully charged batts I get a reading of 6.5v - the 'unloaded' voltage, but when I'm using it to measure the Buzz's voltage, it's the 'loaded' voltage?

I'm sure I'm missing something here. So, what is the thing I'm missing? ;-)

We are looking into them for the next run so I still have some research to do .

Having 2400 mah would be Great !

It would probably be less than that. I read the unprotected Ultafire was tested at 850mAh. Eastmall and the Screwdriver claim their protected 18350 is 900mAh but we know how battery claims are so it's probably less than that.

Edit: Madvapes is loading now and his protected 18350 is from Ultafire, so I guess they do make one. It claims to be 1200mAh but I'm guessing it's really around 800 to 900mAh

When you measure the output of the BUZZ it is the regulated voltage , meaning it will stay at that voltage when Loaded .

On an Unregulated device you are reading the Unloaded Voltage , this voltage will CHANGE when a load is put on it .

This is the MAIN difference between a regulated device and a batteries only device, control of the voltage applied to the atomizer.

In the case of the BUZZ you have total control over the voltage applied to the atomizer from 3.6 to 6 volts REGULATED.
