Yeah, I hear that a lot. I was turned off of shipboard brew within days of my very first underway. Our ship had a shallow draft and a flat bottom. Picture a cork in a bathtub. And with our shop at the top of the superstructure, we tended to move a lot more than most of the rest of the ship. One particularly hard roll, a buddy's mug slid off the non-skid covered desk, and splashed on the bulkhead. Being the good shipmate, I helped him clean it up. Then paint started coming off the bulkhead with the coffee. THE COFFEE WAS A PAINT STRIPPER.... I havent touched a single cup of it since.How can you spend that long in the navy and not drink coffee???
