 That's great!!

mini break time.

My family was all at my house for Thanksgiving, and of course talk turned to guns because it was deer season. Anyway, we set up the targets out back and quite a few people went out to try out different guns. (Yep, my family will bring their latest one to a get together to show it off). My baby sis had never fired a gun before, but was determined to try out one of my twins. Her hubby showed her what she needed to do and pointed her in the correct direction. She commenced blasting the target. When she was done with the clip we all just stared. Nice tight pattern there sis, but all in the groin. Her hubby: "Pretty good honey, now you just need to aim higher." Her answer: "Why? The bullets all went where I was aiming." Her hubby: "I promise to be a better husband and father."

Check out this email I just got!!!

"Hello James,

I am writing this brief email to make you aware of opportunities that we currently have available at Scientific Research Corporation in hopes that you know someone that may be interested. We are looking for electronics technicians to support the National Science Foundation at McMurdo Station in Antarctica.

We are looking for techs for a six month deployment to Antarctica starting in August/September. There is also a two week training session scheduled for later this month. Our highly skilled technicians maintain Navigational Aids, Communication Equipment, and Meteorology Systems for flight operations. Qualified candidates must have DOD or FAA training and experience working with ATC radar, navigation aids, meteorology, or communications systems."

DoD training on ATC Radar, NavAids, and comm gear right here!!!!

This is actually the second time theyve invited me to go... Man I wish I could... It would be one h e l l of an experience!

The pay is usually very good... I know that there used to be some CTM staff stationed there for Deep Freeze... no clue whether or not there still are. It would be incredibly tempting to do it... but I suspect you do not have a job after those 6 months are up. :(

Ok, got it to work finally. The link is below. Honestly, I don't see what's so funny about it. I mean, really, did he not expect me to stumble backwards??

I want to say it was like $40k for 6 months last time I was offered. But its not coming back to a job Im worried about. Its coming back to an empty house. My wife has survived two deployments and countless 2-6 week underways. And my family is the reason I got out of the navy. My oldest (Kat) was three months old before I got to hold her for the first time. That moment, I said "Never again" and was pretty much the moment I made up my mind to get out. If I were single, or even just without kids, I would be all over that like a fat kid on cheesecake.

Our reactions over here:

me: What's so funny? Oh look, her hair is really cute!
Mr. V:  That rocked her pretty good!
HA!
