Well I received my 15ml of House Blend today and just installed it into a fresh Boge LR carto... but before I get into the taste, how about my initial smell impressions?
Off hand, it smells absolutely delicious! To me a very cake/cookie-batter smell, with perhaps some chocolate mixed in there. Reminded me of those days when I used to lick the spoon after my mom had made some cookies! I was very anxious to try it out. But then I thought about steeping, should I steep it or just dive right in? (born-on date was the 20th). After some searching through ECF, this juice doesn't really seem to require steeping, but it has been said to get better with age. So I figured, why not jump right in and try it out! As its likely if I don't like it now I probably won't later.
So taste...err, where do I start? The complexity of this flavor is insane, even within the few minuets of my writing this thread the flavor has changed and warped over a dozen times! All good variations too!
On inhale, there isn't much going on, in fact as it stands right now I can't really taste anything on inhale or when I am sucking it into my mouth. By how sweet this juice smells, I was really expecting to get that sweetness on my tongue as I sucked in the vapor (as I get with other sweet juices), but alas there is nothing I can detect except perhaps a light smokey kind of flavor with a
very remote touch of sweetness that is almost undetectable. IMO this is actually a good thing, as it is very unassuming and unoffensive.
However on exhale is where this juice really shines! The taste literally transforms as I exhale and is impossible to describe. At first it is a bit sweet, then a bit smokey, then a bit cakey, then smokey, then after I have finished blowing out the vape there is another lingering after-taste flavor that I can't quite pinpoint that really hits you, and it is AMAZING! But that after-taste doesn't stick around for long, just enough to get a slight teaser taste, then it goes away, which is a good thing IMO.
I dare say this is the highest quality and most complex juice I have ever vaped, in fact it is so complex it rivals that of an analog due to all the variations that other juices severely lack. And above all, the taste is never overpowering! Which is very important to me, cause lately I have found that sweet vapes, while good in the beginning, often get sickly sweet after using for long periods of time. But HB is so smooth and complex, I am not sure there is anything specific to get 'sick' of. No one thing overpowers the other, and the entire range of flavors are not overpowering, just perfectly blended and balanced.
And FYI I got 18mg with 100% VG. But I am now curious to what the standard 40/60 blend would taste like, as it may be even more flavorful. If anybody with experience vaping 100% VG HB and the standard 40/60, what are the biggest differences? Better, worse, or just different?
Either way well done CC! I am hoping I will still enjoy this flavor by the end of the night, cause I am going to be vaping the heck out of it! And for me if I can vape it through an entire night and still like it, then it passes the ADV test (at least partly). But I think I am going to wish I had gotten a 30ml bottle!
So far HB along with a nice lightly sweet fruit ejuice (not together of course!) might just be exactly what I needed to perfect my vaping experience!
At least for now, it seems the best juice of 2011 was not an exaggeration!
EDIT: Oh BTW, just submitted my vote for CC!
