Been vaping BE112's since last September and usually get them from Liberty Flights, but have also purchased from PureSmoker and others......SR and LR's have been good and seems the BE112's are more durable (never have popped one (YET). Started using 510's about two weeks ago and like them also, but have popped 2 already.....but they perform well also, so I will be using both on the Darwin......

Ah, yes, that's where I first heard of them - in the Puresmoker forum. When I was considering one of their devices I hadn't tried an 801 yet* so I found the fuss about them confusing. I'll have to pick some up next time I'm atty shopping. If memory serves they were highly recommended for 6 volt vaping. Is that how you've been using them?

*hard to imagine myself without an 801 these days but you reminded me of how confusing the choice of attys was for not me too long ago!

SR BE112's on a VV mod and LR BE112's on a 3.7 volt mod......

Alrighty then. If you use both the SR and the LR they must be worthy so I've added them to The List. Thanks, retird.

I am wondering how they will be on the Darwin??? Not really sure how a LR atty will be on the Darwin....any ideas or comments about LR atty's and the Darwin out there????

I use both BE112 LR's and SR's on my Darwin. Stay away from the BE112 HRs. I made the mistake of buying 25 of them before buying 1 and trying it out and they are junk! With the BE112 LRs the Darwin battery lasts even longer. I have not popped a BE112 LR on the Darwin yet. I typically run them at 9-10 Watts.

I use the Cisco LR 306 at 2.0ohm and they work great on the Darwin. Dialed in at around 8.0 to 9.0 watts depending on juice I am dripping

Once you've chosen the type of vape you like by selecting the watts, it doesn't matter what ohm atty or carto or tank you put on it. A 4.5 ohm atty, set at 8.4, for instance, might earn me 6.1v. If I change to a 3.2 CE2 the Darwin might adjust to 5.1v and if I swap that for a 1.5v it might adjust to 3.9v.

I don't really look at the numbers anymore but that's, generally, how it works so doesn't really matter which atty you put on. An atty will heat up more, depending on the watts you've set and the airflow and makeup of the atty or carto will, of course, still influence its bliss rating.

I vape, see if I like the flavor and heat and move the dial forward or back to find the sweet spot for that juice and carry on. That's another good thing - the numbers don't matter anymore and that was hard to let go of - checking ohms and voltage - because I've had to for so long.

Oh, and I made up those voltages as examples of how it works with different ohms set at a particular watts (wattage...pixie number?).

Thanks, Matt. I think Cuse uses BE112s too... Yikes, I've really had tunnel vision and need to branch out and stock up on some of these!

Well put comments...should be a short learning curve for the Darwin as the power adjust takes alot of the "number watching" out of the equation...will be a happy camper to "let go of the numbers".

OH
I've got TV Bananas Foster that I'm not a fan of, not a big Banana fan in general and hoped the other flavors would overpower it more than they did... Can send you a sample if you want to try it...

That would be awesome, Kate!! Id rly appreciate it. Any you've been looking at trying but haven't? I have many, primarily from VB or fsusa.

8.0 to 9.0 watts.....that gives me a "plan of attack" when the Darwin arrives......

On the 510 carto's I use while out-and-about in the car, the VV mod is set to 5.0 volts for the 3.0 ohm carto (8.333 watts), and really gives a great vape, so my first vape on the Dawin will be using the carto with a power setting of 8.3 watts....If that gives a great vape, then just a matter of throwing on a 510 atty or BE112 and see how it vapes.....

Thanks

You're in luck then because the midway stopping point for the Darwin is 8.4 watts. So its very easy to find without even looking at the Darwin and the wheel sits there nicely without moving too easily.

retird - throw anything and everything you have at the unit. Hell buy some adapters if you have 801's, 901's etc and blast away. Dial in your favorite wattage and this bad boy will just go about its business delivering it hit after hit. You will be overjoyed with the unit. I also love the fact that it can be cahrged via the USB so it now has a spot in the computer bag for travelling with me. When I fly I leave all my MODs at home since I really do not have room to carry a charger and batts. The Darwin however gets to come along while his siblings hang in the man cave awaiting my return.

Yep, already have the adapters, and will throw everything at it (except the kitchen sink)....

Does the Darwin cause any issues with security checks?

I can not say it won't but it has not for me and in the past 9 days here is a list of countries where it past through airport security in my computer bag w/flying colors:

US
Germany
Holland
Finland
United Kingdom

In the Netherlands they flagged the Ego batts and when I saw them looking at them on the monitor I said "those are electronic cigarrettes". They asked to see them not for security but since three of them were smokers. They were not allowed to try them but I took about six massive hits to show them what they do right there at the security line. I then hooked them up with the name, make and model and list of stuff to buy from Liberty Flights in the UK since I did not know of any Suppliers in Holland. Happy Vapes

Nice one (educational vaping in a "No Smoking Area") --- and Abe at Liberty Flights is great to deal with....

While I don't have my Darwin yet, I do fly 3 or 4 times a month with full e-cig gear. Boston Logan is a PITA, but I always take a few drags when TSA asks me what it is. Turned on a couple TSA agents on the spot. I usually have 2 eGos and 4 to 6 KR808 in my bag with assorted cartos. I have my juice in a plastic bag for their inspection. I don't think the Darwin will be any worse than what I go through almost every week.
