My Darwin started to have issues, so I contacted Evolv earlier today... not only did they email me right back on a Saturday, they are sending me a replacement unit and advised me to keep the old one until the new one arrived so I won't have to go a single moment without my Darwin.

Considering I have no backup, this kindness floors me. I mean, how cool is that? Evolv, I think I might just love you a bit.

I haven't been on the forum for a while as things have been crazy over here, but I just had to pop on by to give Evolv much needed props. <3

Ok I'm back and first Happy Mothers Day to all you Mothers:).

Visited three cities in China this trip (Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenyang) and three airports in those cities-----not one single vaper! New no smoking law is a joke and the people do not follow it. New drinking and driving law is highly enforced and they are popping drunken chinese drivers all over.

*****Darwin Technical question*******
The flight form China to Detroit is about 14.5 hours. I stealth the whole way w/Ego's and the P-10 in my seat. When I left China I had the Darwin fully charged and in my computer bag with the arm down. Once I got back to Albany I pulled out the Darwin looking for a nice satisfying NON stealth hit and the thing was as dead as Osama Bin Laden! When I got home I put it in the charger and it is working (along with the carto that was attached). So this leads me to believe that while the arm is closed the unit will not fire an atty/carto but if the button is depressed I think it will discharge the batt. Space is tight in the computer bag and I think the Iken carto was pushed against the button and effectively drained the unit. I doubt many people have seen this since they probably do not have the unit closed with the button depressed for 15 hours. Just thought I would ask and see if anyone knew if this is possble.

BTW - New black Grand was waiting for me upon return. Looks great next to his little balck and silver brother!!!!

Happy Vapes all
Welcome back Bud...! Happy vaping with the new family member!

Anyone's brass arm get more and more stiff over time?

Just today I was having trouble even closing it until I put an atty on and used the added leverage to get it to swing shut. I'm trying to be extra careful with it also.

Just wondering if anyone else has figured out anything to help it open and close smoothly.

I use electrical contact cleaner on it, it comes in an aerosol from Home Depot or Lowes in the electrical aisle. And if you mistakenly overspray, it will not hurt the PCB or electronics either, since it isn't actually "wet". But it does a good job loosening up old juice and grime that make the arm sticky.

First off, thanks for the Mother's Day wishes (although my mothering days are behind me, it's nice to know that us moms are still cherished!).....as far as the your Darwin button being depressed...I've had a similar instance where I accidentally had my Darwin in a seat pocket with the arm closed and when I pulled it out to vape it wouldn't come on, however, I just reclosed the arm and reopened it and voila, it was working (kinda like rebooting it). On the other hand, it was not sitting like that for 15 hours. So I dunno if that helps since it sounds like your Darwin was officially "dead"

Awesome idea!

Do you just spray it around the arm?

NC the batt was officially dead. No amount of arm lifting would reset it. It is working now but even after 5 hours cahrging it is still below full on the batt meter. I will leave it charging till morning.

Yea, I kinda figured it was probably totally dead by your description and that you rebooted it (you being a Darwinian Specialist! :D), but figured I would give my 1 1/2 cents! On that rebooting thought though, have you had to reboot your Darwin occasionally? I would find that I would have to close the Darwin arm sometimes to get it to fire. No big deal, just curiosity......

No NC I have never had a problem that I had to do a "reboot". So when this happened I thought "oh fecal matter" my Darwin is dead. I am happy it is working now.

BTW once a mom always a mom (even though no active mothering). Enjoy your day tomorrow!

The HV 306 at 6V is nice and those little Cr123A's do a good job.
Funny, I've had 3V Tenergys and a fresh HV306 ready to roll all week and I was just too busy to try it out, until you said that. It is pretty nice...you're right!

Wow CG looking at your cig and you are getting awefully close to that one year mark!
Yeah, less than a month. I can't believe it's been a year already. Watch...I'll get stressed and lose it at 364 days!...Not a chance. I think an analog would make me nauseous at this point, honestly!

..I managed to get a Solid Blue and a Solid Purple Mini. This will be my first bottom feeder. I love my cartos, but the topping off while out and about is a royal pain. Hopefully this will be the cure for that.

Not to worry fellow Darwinians.... My Darwins will always be my most used and most loved mods. Now I just have a dependable back up and a great option for when topping off is just not an option.

Congrats, Parma! They're a good pairing - the Darwin & the Reo.

...

Also I left my PV at home and had to run my lady friend around for errands afterwards so glad to be back and sucking on some Waffle juice from my D.

Brandon

You're a good man, Brandon. Glad you survived.

I was catching up on this thread and saw your post, my darwin had become very hard to move the arm. Taped over the connection and a little spray and it's back to normal (which to me is too loose). Awesome! Thank you very much.
