lol i did about 100 pages or more of 4a before i decieded to get it! thank god i ordered some of the 10 mg juices with it or im sure i would have a headache by now, lol
just some other thoughts about the darwin, the color is nice, its not really black, its almost like a deep turquise/green/black color, and the casing is kinda rough, not polished and brilliant but i like it like that. if it gets scratched i wont be to upset. it fits right in your hand too, either way, i usually hold mine to push the button with my thumb, sometime i hold it the other way around, but either way it fits perfectly

Hi all, been gone a few days. ISP was down for a while, also been to a big blues festival. ime, glad you got it, I know you did a long deliberation. More importantly, you did the research! Unless you happen to have a bunch of LR stuff around, they are not needed any more. The Watts setting is all that matters. LR will make Darwin use more amperage, and just run your battery down faster.

question for anyone, i just plugged my darwin in to charge, nothing lights up on the screen but the light on the charger is red, will that change or is there something to show that its charging?
Someone else discovered this, and mentioned it recently (there really is a lot of good stuff, buried in these 800 pages). I'm sure you've noticed the little 'half-flash' of a backlight every 5 seconds while it is powered on. This is a system check, and is normal. If you have it plugged in, when it flashes, the voltage indicator will read a volt or two. When fully charged, it will stay at zero.
My charger has a green light, not red, but when I plug the Darwin in I notice the brightness of the led changes....there is no indication either when it has fully charged the unit....yours is a newer charger and newer Darwin so maybe someone else can chime in.....

i did notice about the flashing and read about that in phase 4a, lol that and somehting newer about some people saying where they plug the charger in, its seemed loose, but its sopposed to be like that, doesnt bother me, im the third or 4th person to notice so it seems like thats ok..

When it's plugged in and charging, turn it on, and watch the screen carefully. Does the voltage reading jump up and indicate something/anything when it flashes?
nope i turned it on and watched it for at least 60 seconds, i know its charging, by chance i saw the battery bar jump up from 1/4 to half, but other then that, no real way to tell its charging unless you ctch it jump up a bar

Wow these things take a while to charge. 7 hours so far, the charger light is red. The display shows nearly full, the volts flash from 1.2 to 0v.
getting a serious case of "are we there yet?"
It's currently charging in an awkward place, so I left it alone all day.
Are you sure it's almost full and not full? I think mine usually takes about three hours or so, but I can't swear by it since I only plug it in overnight every other day or so.
One user tip, these are LiPo batteries, so they like to be topped off rather than run all the way down. The Darwin does things to protect the battery, so it's nothing really to worry about, but it's better to charge often. There is no concern about "memory" like in the older NiCads. If anyone wants to put their Darwin away for an extended period (unlikely!), you should drain the battery to about 80% for long term storage.
It's finally fully charged. The light on the charger remained Red, but I wasn't sure if I should expect it to turn green. But the display came on with the arm in the off position. The volts were flashing 0.0v.

Brazilleon, im vaping my gtank on darwin since gtank arrived last 9/6. very nice. consistent vape as i set regardless of changing resistance due to imperfect oxidation of wick. made myself an inch long gooseneck. now it closed with gtank attached.
Brazilleon....You can email the place you got your Gooseneck and get a smaller size like 2 inch or 1 inch just say it is for your Darwin...People have preferred the shorter ones on the Darwin from what I've read. The 3 inch one is a little too long from what I've read.

I went to the state fair yesterday and was shopping around until I ran into one of those e-cig vendors. Not having a B&M vape store around here, I had to stop. They were selling what looked like a 808 style and an E-go style. He let me try it out, that was cool (I'm pretty new to vaping and went straight from a Volt to the Darwin, Gawd this site saved me a lot of money!). You should've seen the guys face when I pulled out the Darwin, took a toot, and blew this HUGE plume of vapor! I had the atty loaded with Boba's Bounty at the time, so it put off a real nice cloud. Has anyone else had the urge to do this when they run into e-cig vendors?
lol, not many vendors around here, mall ones, the vapor room is about 10 mins away from me though, real cool guys, they are having their B and M grandopening in october, hopefully some people will come out, i dont know many vapors around! guys in the store are real cool, i told the owner i was getting a darwin and he said to bring it in so he could check it out, lol,, i will blow a cloud in his face but thats cuz he wants to see it not a silly mall vendor! lol
