yea, it happens, im getting loss of flavor as all my carts have been filled 3-4 times, my attys i think are broken down too, they still work, but the flavor is dead after a hit or two... arghhhh tomorrow i get in my tank and some attys and some carts hopefully i can get some flavor back. this can happen right? if the gunk gets up on the atty, it can dull down flavor?

When I start losing flavor on an atty that still measures good, I like to soak them in Coke overnight. Then rinse and dry as normal, the acidity in the Coke will eat away at the crud that gets on the nichrome wire. We used to use coke to clean the steel toilets on submarines, an hour soak would make them shine so I applied the same logic to my atty's and it seems to work really well although it wont get rid of all the gunk. Give it a try and let me know. I also dry them by putting in the oven for an hour at 200 degrees. I know there are many methods of cleaning here on ECF, this one has always worked best for me.

Ok. So one of my attys just tasted horrible. Decieded to try my first debridge. Easy as hell! Got a look at the atty and .......n that thing was nasty! So. I played around with all of em. I got 4 more plus cartos and a tank getting here tomorrow. Figured why not play around. Debriged 3 510 attys and an ego mega atty. Ran some alcohol throught them. Soaked em for about twenty minutes. And then boiled em in water for ten minutes and they are drying. Hope this helps them out!

Ohms can fluctuate as most can vary +/- up to .3Ω but that is usually when new and the variance from rated. Usually ohms will drop over time. I'd suggest you remove the atty and clean the threads and the Darwin connector, blow it out and see what happens when you put it back on.

Back to that 1" adapter - here it is with DCA306:

OMG! You really don't know how much I needed to see this... Now I just need a 306DCA anodized in black... That adapter is serious though

[snippage ensues]

You didn't say how long they have lasted? If you flush them out with a syringe and ISO alcohol, mine last for a couple of weeks with many refills, easily. I never run them dry, just keep two in rotation, and top them up every night. Once a week I flush, nearly as good as new.

Will that allow the arm to close with an Ego-T? If so, where do I buy one? :)

I don't think so, at least for me. That allows a drip tip to be put at an angle, am I correct? That would work if it allowed an atty to be put at an angle, but the whole thing would be kind of awkward on the Darwin and not much of a step up from the goseneck.

Really what would seem best would be just a lateral arm extension or, better, what retird suggested. Forgive the crappy graphics, I only have MS Paint to work with:

The swivel set screw will add cost to the machining.

Actually, right now, I am not looking to improve the next version of the Darwin. I am looking to buy something like that so I can use my Ego-T and swing the arm closed without too much inconvenience (ie gooseneck). It might also be nice to use my Torpedo Tank on it out and about, but I'm not sold that I really want to use the Torpedo Tank. So far, I've not been too happy with it.

Also remember there is a center conductor that we don't want to break.

This is the part where I am stuck. I have 0 engineering experience (well software "engineering" when I was younger, but that's not relevant here). So I have no clue how this works.

Edit: If I could get schematics for something like this, I can have one made for me by the end of next week.

Vocr,

It not just simple machining. When you look at a connector on an atty or carto negative runs on the outside, the threads. Positive runs on center contact point. The center contact point must be insulated from the outer thread part. I haven't taken one apart but believe the center conductors are connected via a small wire in the 1" adapter. Using the set screw and a swivel would allow this wire to be stressed leading to a break, that's why I think it should be a lock nut on the threads.

I cannot answer this because I have never held and Ego-T. However, I would think Ego-T gear would not be bigger than EMDCC and that fits with this adapter:

I think Drew may have them both so he can probably tell you with more certainty. As for the adapter, I also suggest you ask Drew. He may have some - he's hoarding for the vape apocalypse. He has a secret bunker and his buddy "Kent" has one too - in an undisclosed location. Drew won't say where but I think this may be a picture the Paparazzi snagged:

If there is enough demand, I would think he might carry them so I suggest you start with Drew.

The problem with the lock-nut would be if the center doesn't make contact there will be no power coming through. I think the ideal solution would be something more like the Darwin arm itself, a swivel that will only rotate 180 degrees perhaps. A standard spinning nut would work (ski may have some fun with that), like it's connected to the tube using a "ledge" similar to those old copper plumbing supply lines that connect to the bottom of a faucet. This would allow you to rotate it any way you want until it's tightened down.

The eGo-T gear should fit the same as the EMDC's. A type-B atty with cart is pretty much exactly the same size/shape as the EMDCC, the type-A ones are the same diameter at the base and taper in toward the cart

Good point, maybe a spring loaded center like a car charger has.

Oh KD did someone say gutter???? I thought theme nights were on Thursdays!!! But let's make an exception. I see lot's of talk above about screwing, spinning nuts, tight fit etc etc etc. Vaping just lends itself to dwelling in the gutter my dear KD. Now let's discuss some work I would like done in the man cave :) Happy vapes all and when will the darwins with a little color be in stock Drew???? I have a itching to spend some $$$$$$$$ and I want a blue Darwin. Please do not make buy another black one
