I have not posted in here in a little while. I just wanted to say I woke up last Thursday in a daze from drinking to much only to find out I lost my Darwin. It may have been the saddest moment in my life. I sucked it up and ordered another Darwin. I searched for a few days but the most likely thing that happened was that it fell out of my coat pocket in a cab.

Its killing me that I spent the money for another one but a man without a Darwin is not a man he is just another guy with some cheap ecig.

I don't know whether to cry or scream in joy as I proceed to stalk the mail man once again.

Please if you are out drinking pay more attention to your toys than I did or you may end up having a very bad day.

On a side note if I do find my lost Darwin I will be a guy with 2 Darwins and that my friend is better than a guy with 1 Darwin.

Shoot them an email on the site and ask to be added to the notification list :D

Done. Thank you. I didn't know they allowed that.

Drew could answer more definitively, but it appears he gets some in stock every couple of weeks or so from what I've seen recently

EDIT: oh yeah, and panky's suggestion. I totally forgot about that :blush:

Thank you.

ahhh tahts a good idea! i pretty much use my darwin at home for dripping, and take a cheaper pv out to the bar with me... i have no luck when it comes to being drunk and losing things, ive been through 4 cell phones, a couple pairs of keys, my dignity... lol

ROFL! And nobody ever turns your dignity in at the lost and found!

<sigh>

Well, just as I was thinking it was about time to sit down and do my own video on the big D, it developed a problem - the current sensor wigged out and stopped reading resistance properly. So it's on the way to Ohio (fortunately close to KY) for a repair. Guess I can still get my notes down but now I'm stuck with nothing but 3.7V batts for dripping. :( Good thing I've got an apocalypse stash of 808D-1 gear to get me by, but some of the new nicquids that came in this week are going to have to wait.

Now, though, I'm seriously thinking I need a backup VV/VP device. I'd love it to be a Darwin but man it's hard to slip another one into the budget ... though the decision would probably be a lot easier if I could get my hands on a Blue one. ... ;)

</sigh>

Note to self: add this info to VLARM thread.

Do not take your D'win to the bar unless you have either a zip purse or zip pockets.

I feel for you. I have been without my Darwin on occasion, and it is not a happy Kat that survives the ordeal.

On that note, I had another PV go bonkers on me tonite. No, not a D'win, but an ego clone which is flashing its firing button incessantly right now. No power, no vape, but a lovely flash light.

3.7v... it's sooooooooooo 2010.

talk about customer service though emonty, i emailed brandon about the arm on my darwin (when it closes fully, it turns itself back on) and he got back to me in about 8 mins, and this was later in the evening like 10 30. i didnt even expect a response till monday :p i just gotta wait till my bwb juice gets in this week for my bottom feeders and off the darwin wil go for a little repair! its gonna be a little scary without it, but so much better when it gets back :)

Vapian, you can borrow mine if yours is going to be a while. I still have the Provari so I'd survive. Still need to juice swap anyway, so it'd be a good excuse to meet up.

Yep, we do still need to meet up - though I think my supply of lower-nic dessert flavors may not be as big as I thought. Will have to take inventory soon and see what I've really got on hand.

Anyway, since we're in KY and Evolv is in OH I'm pretty sure the turnaround will be quick. My money is on Tuesday or Wednesday.

We'll have to connect off-line soon and actually nail down a date to make the meet up happen. It's been a while and it'll be great to see you again and catch up on things.

That is the third resistance issue I came across, good that we have warranty, still a ..... to let your Darwin go and wait for it's return....

Yep. One thing I certainly know is that increased complexity, no matter how neat, always adds potential points of failure. A straight battery/mechanical switch will always be more reliable than even a simple VV, and that more so than regulated VV/VP, etc. ... it's just a fact of life, especially at the higher current draws we use on devices like these.

However, I've yet to hear anything bad thing about Evolv customer service so I'm comfortable that it would take something like a act of God to delay the fix by much, and that I won't have to do a lot of prodding to be kept up to date on status. That's an oddly good feeling in the midst of a little inconvenience. :)

3 out of a 1000 isn't that bad in my opinion, or however many are out there, and a good reason that most all of us vapers have a mechanical Mod for back up purposes I would think :2cool: still to date No Other Mod I have owned makes and Atty/Carto jump and react like my Darwin does. I haven't had any issues with mine so far all is good.:2cool:

Would it really be a problem to paint the Darwin any color you want to ? could we just prep it by using masking tape over the window, the Brass Arm, switch, and shoot it with a couple of coats of a good Dupont paint or any good paint ? I would think this would be a pretty simple maneuver. no ???
