I have an extra black cannon drip tip and I really wanna try to drill it out or something to that it will fit the i06. Just sayin' :D Probably won't happen any time soon though

It took me drilling 3 of them to get just one, 2 just blew apart, use a drill press if you do it for sure Panky

yea, i guess it was the LR and it would just heat up quicker then it would wick

Quite possible. I don't like the ma306 mostly because it's LR. With 1.5 ohms I can't reach the wattage I like (I usually go 6-7.5 watts when dripping on a 306 atty, depending on the juice, but can't effectively go below 8.4 if it's LR)

As for a tight draw on the DCA, you guys do know it has an adjustable draw, right? Loosen your atty, then tighten down the base piece onto your mod to push the center pin further up, then re-tighten your atty and it will sit higher up in the bottom piece and give a lighter draw. I did have a tight draw problem with the ma306 that I couldn't completely solve this way, but my other 306 attys work great and I can get the draw about the same or lighter than if I were using my drip shield

DCA or drip shield, either way is perfect for me when using a 306 since I can over-drip to my heart's content and never fear running dry :p

well...after reading about it for almost a year, you guys have convinced me. My Darwin is ordered!!!! let the stalking begin...

Congrats, you won't regret it. Get some SR atty/cartos, and some low-nic juice...

@retird, Darwin/ProVari/Eclipse EQ were my main contenders as well. I was unsure about how well I would get along with EQ, with the differing viscosity of juice it sounded like would be easy for me to make a mess with it. Darwin it was, and not a minute's regret.

Hey MWA, can you give me links to buy that set up of yours? I want to copy ( I have the G-tank covered as soon as the coop is done) :) thanks, Gary

Just got these in...Thought some folks might be interested!!!
510 Contoured Aluminum Drip Tips

Gotta admit that shape of drip tip has become quite popular of late and they are quite comfortable, too. Between these and the dual coil attys that I've been dying to try, you're just daring me to place an order, aren't you :p

Hey guys, just got a Darwin off the classifieds here (after waiting over a week for Priority mail.... grrrr), but I'm having a problem. I used it last night until it died and threw it on the charger overnight. As of now, it is only around 25% charged after ~18 hrs of charging. I also noticed when I plugged it in last night that it wasn't working as a passthrough either.

Am I missing something or did I get conned on a bad unit? I'm waiting on the seller to get back to me with his invoice # so I can get the warranty transferred. Ugggh. Its been a rough 2 weeks with 2 mods breaking, an Ego battery croaking, and now getting a bad Darwin :(

possible just a bad charger? do you have a general min usb cable you can try pluggin in to your computer or something like that. and the pass thru thing, its not a true passthrough like it uses power str8 from whatever you have it plugged into, but it will charge and allow you to vape at the same time.in other words, say it was completly discharged, if you plugged it in you would have to wait till it charged up a little befor eyou could vape

Yeah, could just be a bad charger. Try that first and if another charging method doesn't work, go ahead and contact evolv. I think at this point ALL Darwins are currently still under warranty and from what I've seen and heard here Brandon is an all-around good guy, so don't hesitate to contact him if you determine there really is something wrong with the Darwin itself ;-)

Hey jmlott, it is possibly an issue with the charger, but it could also be that the battery just drained too low an will take longer to charge the first time. Once LiPo batteries reach a certain low voltage limit (3.2V per cell) the charge rate needs to be drastically reduced until the charge is brought up. Based on some others who have had similar issues I am guessing that either the charger is bad or the thing will just need another night to get it to full charge.

You can always email Evolv, I don't think they worry about invoice numbers and such too much. They want to keep these things running as much as we do, and if they break down they want to know why it happened so they can evaluate if upgrades need to be made (this is just my feeling from speaking with them, but I think it's accurate).

Anyway, good luck. I'm sure some of the folks who have experienced this problem first hand will chime in soon.

Darwin may not be bad - try a different USB to mini USB cable and try charging using either your computer, a powered USB hub or a different AC/USD plug. Personally, I choose to not charge directly off my computer (unless using a separately powered USB hub) but as Darwin's internal charge circuitry limits the current to Darwin, it may be fine.

Sometimes a charger cable can be bad and that is easy and cheap to replace. A Darwin that goes to cut-off and then left alone for a while may show 25% on the gauge. The screen batt gauge is not exactly scaled (hangs at full for hours of use) and the cut-off is well above safety levels. It has been posted (but this IS a long thread) that using to cut-off is not a good idea to do on a regular basis. These batts prefere to be topped off regularly. Running to cut-off, on a regular basis, can eventually reduce the life you get per charge cycle.

Getting the invoice from the previous owner is a good idea because there ARE some people who never returned Darwins - after Evolv generously sent out replacements before receiving the warranty claim unit (which they were NEVER obligated to do). As long as it is a legitimate sale (in other words not an unreturned Darwin), Evolv will honor the warranty as the warranty does travel with legitimately sold Darwins.

But, don't be concerned just yet. It could be as simple as a bad charge wire/converter.

However, if you did happen to purchase an illegitimate/unreturned Darwin - your recourse may be only to chase after whoever sold it to you. Unfortunately, this type of abusive behavior may have contributed to Evolv having to stop sending replacements before receiving the warranty claim units (as is done with pretty much all other products with a warranty claim and certainly ALL other PVs).

Also, unfortunately, there may also be some people claiming warranty issues that are not real - only to try to get upgrades. Evolv has been testing some alternate components and some people seem to think they will be entitled to get new components and/or new guts if they say they have a problem. As with ALL warranties, on ALL products, Evolv has the option to repair - if the problem is with the actual device as manufactured. Evolv is also NOT responsible for user abuse damage (like opening the device - which is clearly stated voids the warranty). I am truly disheartened by some of the posts I see in which SOME people continuously try to take advantage of Evolv's unparalleled customer service and generosity. I'd like to see these people get away with some of this crap with Apple or other electronics manufacturers.

jmlott, this last part was not directed at you.

And, to all others following, I am sorry if I sound defensive on behalf of Evolv but I really like and respect Brandon and it really pisses me off to see so many people trying to take advantage of his generous and good nature.

I had a similar thing happen to me on a different mod that I purchased on the classies. Seriously, I think I lost my mind I was so upset about it. Was a lot of money to feel like I bought a paperweight.

Fortunately, you may either have the charger problem (as listed above) or need to send for repairs. I've heard that these guys are terrific and can't imagine that they would not be able to help.

Good Luck w/ your Darwin. Hope it gets working for you real soon. Keep us posted.
