Ok guys gals I'm looking to get a car charger for my Darwin were and what size???

I use old cellphone cables. One end standard USB one end mini USB. You can grab a car adapter that plugs into cig lighter that has a standard usb plug in point. Else if you have an old mini USB car charger for a cellphone that will work too.

Do Darwin's come in a "starter kit" kind of box? Or is it just bubble wrapped? Just wanted to get an idea of how it comes... Like how elite athletes imagine themselves reaching their goal. Haha!

Nope no starter box. It will arrive in a plain envelope just like good porn does.

It's kind of funny, some of the cheapest fixed voltage PVs come in a velvet-lined presentation box, some pre-loaded cartos, a charger/batteries, and an instruction pamphlet often written in amusing Engrish.

Darwin comes with a charger and nothing else. It's mini-USB, widely available in convenience stores/truck stops/online. The instructions are simple.

Adjust wheel. Notice numbers. Push button. Repeat.

I guess it's assumed that since you are purchasing a top-quality high end device made in the USA you have figured out which 510 things you like to use, and what juice. For most users, pre-loaded cartos would merely be an insult at this point.

The low cost of some of the starter kit fluff is probably truly astounding if we knew. I bought a pair of cycling gloves from China for 99 cents with free shipping from the other side of the world. I see these apparently exact same things in Walmart for USD $15. Of course they are cheap, and not what a pro cyclist would use, but I am a beginner, and they are just fine for now. The additional cost of starter kit items is fractions of a cent.

But if we're buying a Darwin from Ohio? We don't need no steenking starter kit...

Hey NB I do believe our dear Kat has more meow than claws. She says she will model that invisible Darwin shirt but alas we are still picture less ;)

Claws, like Tease, can be invisible, my dearest Ski-ster.

Besides, why do you insist upon lying to this group? You know I sent you the pic... ;)

Damn KD, I love the new AVI. You do know we now have to have a little princess theme night. Just wear the crown and that killer t-shirt and GAME ON.

I totally agree, I've been cycling too! I'm not a pro or anything and have only done one 65mile mile ride with a "club" or whatever a few years ago. But I tend to buy "better gear," simply because I don't want to keep spending a little all the time, I'd rather spend a lot once.

Don't forget to wear a helmet! I usually bring a PV with me when I ride, I didn't yesterday and I'm glad I didn't... I fell! Haha, my tires were had got a small leak during my ride, enough to make me fall, and my jersey pocket that I usually keep my pv in, I had 2 bananas. They got smashed when I fell, lol! And if I wasn't wearing a helmet, I would have headbutted the cement and scraped my face.

Yes, getting "the good stuff" is always cheaper in the long run. I use hand tools that belonged to my great-grandfather, that will still be good for another 75 years. I break cheap tools all the time.

I am trying to equip the spousal unit and myself for very casual trail riding, we will never be on pavement. I'm fortunate that I live a few minutes from a nice rail-trail. All the extra paraphernalia times 2 can get expensive at once. Tried to avoid Walmart bikes, starting with a Trek 4300 (used MTB, $90) and a Trek 7200 (new hybrid, for $200). Adding the 'what-nots' cheaply to get the basics, will replace with better when they wear out.

I'll PM you some bike questions, don't want to steer Darwinia from it's normally scheduled perversion.
