So -

I know I've posted that I'm about to jump back into e-cigs but I need some recommendations so I can have all my parts/accessories/et cetera by the time I'm able to order the Darwin.

I've already got some juice ordered but -

When I used to vape I normally switched between an 801 and 510. I almost always used the 801 on my Prodigy V1 and then on my S6 when I got that.

I've seen that 510s seem to be the most used atty now and I always loved it but can anyone recommend which they feel work best with the Darwin so I can get a good supply on hand? Also - I know it adjusts based on the resistance of the atty but should I be looking at standard resistance or HV attys?

As far as drip tips - I almost always exclusively dripped and just "tail-piped" it on my 801s but I'm looking to probably try out some drip tips and see how that goes. I'm REALLY interested in the looks of the MAP tank and I'm a bit curious about cartomizer's as well. Any ideas or opinions?

Anything else you think I should have on hand so that when I get the Darwin I'm able to throw out my Pall Malls?

Thanks for all the help! Didn't want to start a new thread but if you feel like this should be in a new one just let me know.

Brandon

As stated it is all personal preference but I have tried all the major atty's out there and always come back to the KR 808 cartos for their awesome throat hit. They helped me kick a 25 year Marlboro Red habit......coming from Paul Malls (unfiltered?) I think you will love the throat hit and flavor they give. They work better on the Darwin than on any other device I have ever used.

I find the 801's work the best for me for flavor, although they all work well. I do prefer the 801's on the Darwin.

Thanks so much for all the suggestions guys.

I'll check them all out and search out some adapters and hopefully get everything in stock by the time I can order a Darwin.

Brandon

EDIT:

Ok so far I've got two adapters in my cart - a 501 > 801 and a 501 > KR808D

I threw a pack of KR808 Cartomizers in there. (Never tried them but willing to give it a shot.)

I also threw in 5 drip tips as well. Is that too many?

Thanks for all the help guys!

5 drips tips is more than enough and you can get by with less if you wanted. If you are doing 801 attys, remember you need an 801 tip. 510/901/Kr808 are all the same size tip

Middle of nowhere
Nothing really
I just ask him about airbrushing mine. He said sure if I wanted to. Then I asked about if it was possible to get a blue one.
He laughed at me and told me not in the near future.
He also said that he was not putting names on any at this time.
It's all Mutt's fault. He got the wheels turning so I called Brandon and ask him.

wv, just curious, how would you compare the 801 carto to other Boge 510 & 808 cartos? BTW, you might try the Joye 302 with stealth adapter turned in snuggly (not torked but snug) into atty first. They can take a couple hours to really break in.

I've just started trying some of Drew's 808 cartos (I think they are the mega ones, not sure, though). I didn't like them on my 5 volt box mod or 5 volt Prodigy. Drew told me he thought they vaped better at lower voltage. So I tried one today at 8.2 watts/4.5 volts and they vape nice. I'm not sure if anything can quite match dripping on a mini-801 or BE112. But there are times I don't want to have to fool with dripping and just use the cartos. I haven't vaped enough on these 808's to say which carto I like best but if I had to vote right now, I would put MadVapes 801's first, then the 808's and then Drew's 801's.

I've toyed with trying the 302's but have been told by others they don't see a big difference between them and other 801's. I do know that I much prefer the BE112's and the mini 801's to the DSE801.

I may wait until a Blue one comes out
You maybe waiting awhile from my talks with Brandon..............................LOL

Putting this in simple terms: Theoretically, if Brandon said "Yes we will be making blue", sales would slow down as everyone waits for blue. If Brandon says "no, we are not making blue or any other color.... ever", then sales would continue at their natural pace and may even increase as those potential "blue" Darwin holdouts now think blue isn't ever going to be made and they might as well buy the black one that everyone else has.
My point is that Brandon is smarter than that. He is not going to give that information up unless it gives Evolv a benefit. And right now it doesn't!

My guess is that blue will not be used anyway, even if they did decide to offer colors, since Evolv gave Blue to it's Beta testers and they won't want to make them feel less special by offering their version to the masses:)

To a large degree it is just a personal preference. Even with my Darwin, however, I prefer the 801 atty. At the Atlanta Vape Fest several 510 users told me they "re-discovered" the 801 atty after getting the Darwin and prefer it because with the Darwin you can get a great throat hit with the 801 but taste the flavor of the liquid more. I use the BE112 (801) atty from BestEcig and the mini-801 from IKENVAPE, as well as the 801 cartomizer from nhaler and the one from MadVapes. They all do quite well on the Darwin.

I use the BE112 SR's on my Prodigy V3.1. I just love them. You made my day letting me know that the Darwin likes them too!

I'm sorry...lol

I just talked to Brandon tonight, and it looks like there will be NO blue ones offered. Sorry guys/gals.

He did not say "no". He said not in the near future. I might just paint flames on mine. It is hot piece of equipment you know.

Flames as in hot rod flames? Will he do puffy clouds? I'm kidding, of course. I love the utilitarian look and lines of the Darwin though I do kinda like the etching I've been seeing, except it'd ruin the neat texture.

Wow, I'm kinda liking this Lucid cart system with atty from gotvapes.. Pretty neat, seems to work well. Not as plastic tasting as I envisioned it would be . So it's like a smart cart meets Ego-T and it does allow the arm to swing shut on the Darwin.

Does it whistle, Cuseguy? I'm against whistling, even while I work.

3 hours later and I am wishing for some whistling. That might at least make it entertaining. But it just doesn't do enough to distinguish itself from any other atty/carto solution out there right now. Flavor is well....meh. If you like ego-t cart flavor, with that fine nuance of plastic, you might like it, maybe. Right now, my guess is fail. Don't waste your $13! However, I did get a mod in the mail that is worthwhile and beautiful! Vapestands!

We musta been thinking the same thing. I bought some of those as well. I even got a couple of the special Atties they offer to go with them. I however live much farther away than you do so mine aren't here yet. I can't wait to get them and try them out. The Ego tank was just okay for me too. Maybe having the special atty will help. I'll be sure to update you.

Well Parma, my review after a few hours isn't quite as glowing...lol. They are serviceable and It is very early to draw any real conclusions. But I would be shocked if it became a goto for me at least. Sorry:( I don't like to be a downer like that, just being honest.
