Could you please explain to me what is the difference between variable voltage and variable power?
I'm afraid I don't understand it. I watched your YouTube videos (you've got great voice by the way!) and I tried to look after it on this forum/thread but I din't find the explanation.
I know the variable voltage devices (I have some), but never tried this variable power stuff.
I have one more question about the battery life:
If I make 400 puffs/day and I'm running a regular 510 atty on 4.5V, then how long does the battery lasts? How often should I charge it?
Could you tell me an estimated time in hours?

Demon, an explanation of Power vs Voltage.
I will borrow from Drews Earlier Explanation. Drew Equated Power control to Cruise control on a car, this is very accurate. Voltage is How much gas you feed your engine, and Wattage is how fast you are going (how hot your atomizer is). As you travel down the road of vaping your atomizer, if you set the Voltage on your device, you are controlling how much fuel your car gets, Thats fine as long as you are traveling on flat road. The problem is, that road you travel vaping your atomizer, is pretty much a one way climb to its death. Every time you sit down to use an atomizer, as with all electrical components, as it heats up the resistance increases, it comes back down when cooled off, but not all the way. As the atomizer eventually wears out, the overall resistance always increases as well.
Its like you are driving the car up a never ending mountain road. And here is where Power comes in. Remember the voltage set how much gas we were feeding the car, but when we start going up hill, what happens? We need more gas to get up the hill at the same speed. By regulating Power, the Darwin makes sure that heading up that hill, whatever the fuel requirements, we keep heading the same speed. As the Resistance increases, Darwin cranks up the voltage to make sure the total Wattage (this IS heat) stays the same. Exactly like your cruise control is designed to do.
Now does this mean that the Darwin actually is paying attention to the only significant factor on how your juice tastes? Well I gotta say I'm willing to bite to find out. Been on the waiting list for a bit now.

Since I have mine from the first batch I can answer your question about battery life. I generally go through about 5 mils of juice per day. I have been using only my Darwin since I received it. As a rule I vape 3.2ohm 510 Cartomizers at roughly 5v. I have been getting no less than 16 hours of constant use from my Darwin at these settings before the battery meter reaches the halfway point. Of course at this point it's bed time, so I just plug it in on my way to bed. The hardest I have pushed it was just over 22 hours. The second half of the battery drops much faster than the first half. Just don't expect the battery to last all day on half a meter. The longest it has taken to achieve a full charge after getting to the very last slice of life on the power meter was just over 4 hours.
I have the Darwin set at 8.4 watts which gives me consistent power and voltage that stays pretty close to 5v. I have used many different atties and cartos at different resistance levels. The Darwin automatically adjusts the voltage to match the resistance of whatever I put on it. Basically this means I get great flavor,vapor and no burnt juice ever.

So the battery life seems very good to me.
For me it's really enough if I'll only need to charge it when I go to bed.
I was just worrying about that I would need to charge it during the day. I hate that pretty much, when I need to suck on my USB cable.

Drew and crew always complete and ship orders pretty darn quick. Usually the same day if I order in the morning or early afternoon. Being in the middle east coast as well, I usually get them the next day, not two days.
I emailed him last night before looking at this thread, as they listed as in stock. He gave me an order # this morning, and mine is in!

yeah, i guess; it's funny how i am used to reading volts on a VV... Watts are different from an intuitive sense...
i.e. with a 2.2 ohm joye 510, set at 4.2Watts (lowest setting) , it might read 3.4v ymmv..... as i raise the Watts, it will go up in voltage to 3.7 and more. (remember for comparison, an eGo is true voltage 3.1 to 3.3 or so).
funny it will hold at a low voltage; i.e. 3.7 even going up to a certain Wattage; like 7 or so before the volts go up.... i can't figure why; but i sure do enjoy having such precise info and control....
oh yeah, and for most you'll find that different juices taste better at different settings depending on the juice and also your mood. ( if i want a reall cool but still good vape, i'll go low, and if i want to kick some .... (lol), i'll kick it up just to where it's not going to char.
