Oh, I forgot to mention...I have found that HV atties really shine on this thing and work the best. 3.0 - 3.5 ohm is the sweet spot. I really like the be112 with a stealth 510 to 801 adapter and I like a HV 510. I generally keep it around 7.2 or 7.4 watts and this reads 4.7 or 4.8 volts. I've even tried a 510 to 510 extension and used an ego T tank on it. I just kept the watts adjusted so it didn't go over 4.2 volts with the t tank.

I've also noted the advantage of having a built in meter. I have so many atties lying around. I just have to pop them on the Darwin and it reads what ohm the atty is for me.

Ugghh... Another atty (Drip-O-Mizer) died on me. Third one so far. Not sure what's going on. Showing 12+V again. 3 out of 5 dying on me not good. The other two are still working.

You need to make sure the coil is staying wet. You shouldn't be seeing any orange glow from the carto area. My connector with an Avid 510 adaptor is fine. Threads easily and pin is straight and centered.

Man am I going thru juice with this thing......I sure hope Drew comes back from China with the new jumbo 808 carts that fit the Darwin when folding down the connector. DREWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW (wonder if he hears me in China)
I have not tried these yet but isn't this what you are looking for? Looks like it should fit.

Umm, DW...Drew's adaptor is not the wrong one, you need to take the nut off the threads! I just found the adaptor in the Nhaler bag(which I really like btw)

Sure enough, it is 510-510. I took the nut off the threads and fits just fine.
Now, for why my 510 Drip-O-Mizers are burning out... I guess I'm keeping the atty too dry?
Is it THAT sensitive?

No Drew said those are too wide and do not allow the Darwin to close....I believe he said he was going to have them made skinnier but a bit longer so the will still hold 2ml of juice but allow the arm to be fully closed. Hoping he is working on that in China.
As an FYI to anyone that has 808 carts lying around....give them a shot on the Darwin at around 10 watts.....better hit than I have ever got off them.

Well, it's a still a high-voltage device underneath all it's goodness. So if you crank the watts, and the atty is even slightly less than moist, it will burn it out.

I think that's what Drew was talking about when he said he was gonna have some surprises from Royal Smoker when he gets back. He is visiting them while there.

hard to tell, but does your adapter have the insulating ring around the center pin...it looks like it's missing?

love that they removed the darwin signature from this batch...looking good!

No buGG, still has the squiggly Darwin signature, at least mine does. It's in a darker gold color, so it isn't too obtrusive.

I'll be interested to hear why Drew says this. The picture looks like the body of the jumbo is not much bigger than the 808 connector. I use 801 style attys on Darwin all the time and those are considerably bigger than 808s. When I fold the atty, the 801 styles do touch the button but do not press it - device is off in this position anyway. BUT, I am using a prototype and do not have the final button that you all have.

The XL CE2 clearomizers also easily fit but those may be thinner than the Jumbo 808s.

I sure hope so. These regular 808 carts need to be refilled way too often. Not complaining as the quality of hit is remarkable.

Mine does NOT have the Darwin sig......strange.

Do the XL CE2's have as good a throat hit as an 808 cart? I have tried the 801,901 and 510 atty's (but not the cartos) and none of them have the throat hit I like. Marlboro Red smoker for 25 years.....808's are the only thing that comes close of the ones I have tried.
