OH
:) I have decided not to dwell on the number, even though its one I dread. My friends and family will play their game of tug of war I'm sure. Too bad I didn't know you over the summer, (started vaping in Sept.) Because I was in NY all summer!! Hopefully you'll make it out to Cleveland, and I usually come home to ny every couple months or so, so Def. Next time!

Krisb, I am not an electrician and don't play one on TV but as far as I know, everything that was made after 2007 and is USB compatible must be the same, which is 5.25v, 1500mah and a max of 1.8a. So basically if it is new and has a USB plug or port, then you cant blow it up! An electrician did tell me that!

The spec for USB is listed below....

High power port/bus per connection is nominal 5.0 volts & 0.500 mA half an amp max....

Wall bugs and lighter plugs can supply many differant outputs - they are entirely a different beast. I've seen some that will go up to 2 Amps (2,000 mA)

Computer/Data Equipment USB Ports

Low power bus powered functions draw all its power from the VBUS and cannot draw any more than one unit load. The USB specification defines a unit load as 100mA. Low power bus powered functions must also be designed to work down to a VBUS voltage of 4.40V and up to a maximum voltage of 5.25V measured at the upsteam plug of the device. For many 3.3V devices, LDO regulators are mandatory.

High power bus powered functions will draw all its power from the bus and cannot draw more than one unit load until it has been configured, after which it can then drain 5 unit loads (500mA Max) provided it asked for this in its descriptor. High power bus functions must be able to be detected and enumerated at a minimum 4.40V. When operating at a full unit load, a minimum VBUS of 4.75 V is specified with a maximum of 5.25V. Once again, these measurements are taken at the upstream plug.

Ren, I had three shipment from three diff. Vendors mail out using usps the same day. Two of the three gave me updates when it was scanned at diff. Hubs, only one didn't and they all used the same cheap shipping option

Krisb,

You just generally echoed the situation I described....

Appears some folks here expected real time tracking and complete tracking. USPS is NOT real time nor is it complete... often folks may have the shipped item in hand for hours before the final date/time even appears in the system.

If you have tracked (used) FedEX tracking you will see and can expect accurate and complete tracking...

One would think you might expect a bit more bang for your buck!! (Tax dollar wise) I long for the good ole days when we didn't get all the government we paid for.

Map Tanks and goosenecks are both awesome on the Darwin.

And together (along with a 510 -> Ego battery adapter) they work even better. And you can leave a Tank on and still turn off your Darwin.

OK... My wife is now so jealous. She recently got the Turbo AV VV, and was happy with it until my Darwin came along. While she is replacing batteries repeatedly, my Darwin just chugs along.

I told her we could get her one, but she said they are too "masculine" for her liking (her Turbo and eGo are both pink LOL). Drew- you need to make a pink Darwin to get her on board LOL

My replacement Darwin came in yesterday about 1/2 charged.....I vaped, to steal from Drew, like a research monkey all last night and all morning....still have about 3/8 battery left. This thing is amazing! About to plug it into computer and use it as a pass thru just in case I end up out carousing tonight......full battery means I am good until Sunday.....if the party lasts that long! :p

Having the battery built in didn't appeal to me at all at first but after seeing and using Randy's yesterday I certainly appreciate the advantage of just having one thing to grab and go.

He's all happy today running around with a MAP tank full of juice and a full battery. It's an awesome PV, very well done.

PS My old 801's sure do work very well on this Darwin , so far they taste the best for flavor with my juice's .

Can anyone explain the extreme "Darwin Trashing" and misinformation that some on ECF and other forums are so vehement about. Here are some of the remarks I have read about the Darwin:

* it's made of plastic
* the arm is made of plastic
* the arm breaks off after a few days use
* juice on the body will kill it
* it's ugly
* it costs $300
* you will be lucky if the batteries last 6 months.
* the supplier does not stand behind the product
* you can't drip with it
* the warranty is a scam
* it's too big to fit in your hand

Some of these remarks seem to be from those who like the ProVari. I personally have only praised the ProVari as being one of the two top PV's on the market. But I just don't get this vehement trashing of the Darwin.

wv2win because you can not fix stupid!!!! It is a disease. I have seen the posts and you have seen mine in response. I have both units and as far as I am concerned they are best the PV world has right now. I will happily vape both and let those boneheads fend for themselves. I will not waste enegry on stupid. There are also the mech heads who think anything elctronic will break and is unreliable. They post those types of messages whilst typing on a laptop, watching a flat pannel and eating something that came out of the microwave!!! Oh yeah and vaping on a stoneage single or at best dual voltage mech mod. Happy vapes and big clouds to you!
