Can anyone explain the extreme "Darwin Trashing" and misinformation that some on ECF and other forums are so vehement about. Here are some of the remarks I have read about the Darwin:

* it's made of plastic
* the arm is made of plastic
* the arm breaks off after a few days use
* juice on the body will kill it
* it's ugly
* it costs $300
* you will be lucky if the batteries last 6 months.
* the supplier does not stand behind the product
* you can't drip with it
* the warranty is a scam
* it's too big to fit in your hand

Some of these remarks seem to be from those who like the ProVari. I personally have only praised the ProVari as being one of the two top PV's on the market. But I just don't get this vehement trashing of the D
arwin.

Hmmmm....I realize people are entitled to their opinion, but only one of those statements could
be an opinion. The rest of the claims would just confim their stupidity and there for rendering their
opinion unreliable. So nope the darwin is not ugly!

Where were these claims made?

Since thread has been talking about batt life and I was dying to see the angry batt face I ran it down to dead today. What I noticed was:

1. Full charge at 6:30 am Thurs. Hit it hard all day and night till about midnight. no charge overnight
2. 6:30 am friday back at it with 1/2 batt symbol on screen
3. by 9:00 am batt exhausted. Estimate that I pulled about 10mls in that timeframe
4. as others have posted 1/2 batt to zero is very quick.
5. USB charged it off Dell E6400 laptop and it was topped off by noon.
6. Vaped from noon till 7:30 and batt is at 80%

I am happy with length of use and as others have pointed out if charged each night you should have no issues going the whole day. I will however be interested to see how it does 6 to 8 months from now and if the batt life shortens over time.

Question (and be honest) has anyone removed the 5 screws and back panel yet? I am dying to see that batt!!!!! Those screws are just sceaming for me to grab a screwdriver:facepalm:

OH
LOL, I was just giving that a read. Apparently some people are a bit sensitive about being wrong! Both are awesome and if I could get another right now without feeling guilty, I would get a provari as my secondary PV, second, of course, to my Darwin. I, too, was a little worried about the size and looks, but honestly it doesn't feel nearly as big as I had anticipated and the looks are much more discreet than I thought. I definitely feel I made the right call. When and if I buy another PV (if?..who am I kidding?? lol) I would, given the choices out there right now, buy a provari, but I am really hoping Evolv comes out with another someday.

Now, if they could offer colors like a GLV...life would be nice!

wv2win because you can not fix stupid!!!! It is a disease. I have seen the posts and you have seen mine in response. I have both units and as far as I am concerned they are best the PV world has right now. I will happily vape both and let those boneheads fend for themselves. I will not waste enegry on stupid. There are also the mech heads who think anything elctronic will break and is unreliable. They post those types of messages whilst typing on a laptop, watching a flat pannel and eating something that came out of the microwave!!! Oh yeah and vaping on a stoneage single or at best dual voltage mech mod. Happy vapes and big clouds to you!

Thanks for the response, Liv2Ski. I agree with you! More than once I wanted to post your point directly in response but decided not to get banned for a week over it, although it probably would have been worth it.:evil:

Why would one get banned over posting your own opinion or what you perceive/found to be true?

Look below your post. It actually has dual 7.2V 900mah batts in series, I think...from what I can tell.

Thanks was wondering how it would push 12.8v without a load. So have you maxed it out at 12.7W and if so with what atty? I have some Iken HV's but at 10.3 they are drawing 6.2v not sure I want to push much harder than that.

L2S...are you sure it was the Darwin yelling that to you?? Are you sure Darwin hasn't replaced someone? LMAO.

Cuse, thanks for the guts pic...we were all curious.

That has been accused and I offered to wire a cellphone buzzer intoi the Vari since she has also made comment about it looking like a toy. Figured the best of both worlds with that type of MOD. Maybe onto something here could call it the vape-n-play! Keep smiling Krisb

Yeah, I have only done it with a 510HV atty at 4.5 ohms. That was 7.3 volts and it wasn't bad! Not burning like one would expect. A little warm but nice.
