... I am using an LR 801 on it but have to vape it at the lowest wattage setting because any higher and the juice (or any juice, for that matter) gets that burnt taste at higher wattages. Is this normal for a LR atty? I do have normal and HV atties in my possession, but didn't want to break them out just yet because this atty is still fairly new. Any thoughts:?:?

Yes, could be a sad combo of new atty and fragile juice, NC. Is there a reason you want higher wattage?

Yes- the Darwin can only go so low. If you look at your display- look at the volts and you'll probably see that even though your watts are showing low, the volts are not dropping. With LR cartos you just need to look at the volts because the watts don't seem to display properly. For example: I'm using a dual coil carto which is 1.3ohm. 3.6v is as low as my Darwin will go. So I can set the darwin at any watts from 4.2 to 9.4 and still be at 3.6v. So setting my darwin at 4.2w isn't really 4.2w- it's actually 9.4w since that is as low as the darwin can go with this LR

Thanks N2Rock! That is what I was thinking, but just needed confirmation. Nature of the beast. Mine is reading 2 ohm 3.4v at 4.2watts.

Nah, not really. I was just playing around with the different wattages to see what is was like. I need to break out a standard resistance atty so I can see what this 5v sweet spot is like that everyone talks about. I'm used to the "simulated HV" vaping , but want the "REAL" thing, ya know?!
I gotta tell ya, I love the consistency of each vape! Not to mention battery life! Been vaping on it since yesterday morning w/only 5 hrs of non-vape time, and she is still hitting like a champ and battery meter still at 3/4!:thumb:

Fine tuning a bit and have a question.....

The 510 to 510 adapter that came with the Darwin does not screw all the way down before it bottoms out in the Darwin...thus can the adapter center post be adjusted so the adapter will fit better on the Darwin? I'm thinkin it can but want to verify before attempting.....

Will not screw into any 510 device I have --threads too small--- ???

We spent that same money on analogs without ever even thinking about it!

right-on.....after 45 years of 2 packs a day non-filtered analogs, I assure you it's not a money thing with me (he-he) ....

Not tracking the money, just tracking the jail-break from analogs......

Where did you get a 510 to 510 adapter?

I didn't get one with my Darwin and I'm thinking it might be nice to have.

Middle of nowhere
The site does show Darwins available. It's tempting to get a backup!
