And you and I have about 500 each so that accounts for the wacky end. Then there are a few that actually have contributed to Darwin talk :). Anyway still looks impressive and I am happy that I own this device. It sure does bring the vapes to a new level. Hang loose CG

BTW - don't forget about KD she has a large handful too.

Sort of quite without the ladies here. Notice we have not even veered into the gutter without them. Leads me to believe it is not us :)

Yeah, really quiet without them. I think the trip killed krisb! BTW, just traded the SM for a 5V! I had a classy ad up and lo and behold!

My Darwin is slated for delivery tomorrow..

I'm pretty excited to get some consistency in my vaping...

I work now off of 808's/cartos, an ego tank and dripping into a magma 510 atty. Dripping is by far my favorite.. I like the convenience of cartos but I struggle to get a consistent and satisfying vape... The tank is meh... great convenience, a few great draws and TH, but then it tastes burnt and harsh... terrible consistency. I certainly will not be buying any more attys for it. I have some empty carts for the 510 and I'll probably trying that route but I think dripping is by far my favorite... I guess I'll have to be careful about flooding from the sounds of it...

I have a pile of 510 regular and LR atty's, a couple of ciscos and lots of cartos and a 510/808 adapter... and about 5 years worth of juice... lol... and I've only been doing this a month or so... I think with this purchase and some more juice on the way, I've spent as much as would have for a year of analogs...lol... oh well... this is fun..

Any info you good people would like to throw my way to make my 1st Darwin experience fantastic and get me on the right track... it would be greatly appreciated. Recommendations on atty's and anything else that I'll eventually try... well, I would guess that I'm not all that different than most and will be happy to avoid any pitfalls and will get whatever I need to make me a calm and happy vaper.

Thanks....

Congrats and welcome to the family. YOU WILL LOVE THE DARWIN!!!! As far as atty's/cartos go you just opened up a whole new world. I hope you saved those atty's that just seemed weak. You will have a baggie full of gold when you slap them on the D and dial up the watts. I have found midpoint (8.4 watts) to be about perfect for most cartos. Since there is not a drip cup on the Darwin go easy with dripping. If you are a little overzelous (like me) you can get sauce hand really quick. Let us know how much you like it when it arrives. Some of the ladies on here have added a little bling bling to theirs but I think you can forego that step and just vape away. Happy vapes

I filled up my new GP-SSR with GP-USA Flavors:Wild Berry Champagne just before leaving work, and have been hitting it pretty hard. I'm really enjoying it. I'm not so sure about this flavor, but the SSR is producing plenty of it. I got the SSR with a 3 ohm CE2 installed, and have kept the watts below 6, usually around 5.5, and the vapor production has been real steady and bountiful. The SSR is rated at holding 4ml, but I emptied 1/2 a 10ml bottle into it, and that was about as full as you could go. It's less than 1/2 full now, which is the most juice I've ever gone through in this amount of time.
If anyone is looking to get a tank, I highly recommend Good Prophet's Simple Service Reservoir. Hopefully he'll have some more available soon.

Then bottom feeder with LR opens up a whole new realm. Go for it. I hear you about dripping. That is why I have been doing the carto thing and MAP on the Vari. But damn that bottom feeder with a LR 306 kicks it. You won't be sorry.

I have to agree with the LR 306.. Using it right now on my Grand.. Good to know I'll have a kick ... set up for Road Trips :)

Not even with a LR306???? Gald you posted since I was looking at them. Getting sort of itchy waiting for the JC, you know what I mean? Man I have to tell you this Reo Mini is rockin the house with a LR 306 and a 14500 aw batt. You really need to get one of these. It makes the drive to work so much better. Ask Krisb, she hit the thing a few times last Friday. Even with the Vari there she kept grabbing the Reo. I am even thinking of stepping up to the Grand.

What kind of a friend would I be if I didn't offer to take the Reo Mini off your hands, get it out of your way, and help you make room for the Grand?

I resemble that remark.

I have noticed that too. I am seeing a consistant .2 (a 3.2 ohm turns into a 3.0 ohm) drop on the Darwin. I have been told that this has something to do with Darwin taking it's measurements while under a load. I have tried just about every atty and carto out there. I have found that I tend to lose out on flavor with the LR stuff. So far my favorite is the 3 ohm Boge Cartos. If I go the route of Atties my favorite is the BE112 (801 style). If I have a weak juice I can just crank up the watts. If it's too strong I can turn it down.

Sure, but loosing .5 ohms on all attys (I tried older ones formerly read correctly) is quite strange.

Also all meters have an internal resistance. If you touch the probes of your tester together and hold them you will see areading. Subtract that reading from what you read off the attys and that is your true reading.
Some better meteres have a feature that you can zero it out after calibrating. Most Meters vary around .2 to .3 on the measurements.
Hey Cyber you might try snugging up the screws around the arm. It cant fall out without being taken completely apart so I wouldnt worry too much about that. Try not to over tighten the screws as they are soft brass...Thanks
Drew

Thanks Drew, will give a try on the screws. What do you think of the screen going blank (but still firing)? Should I write to Evolv on this?

So what cases are people using for their Darwins?

I've just been using the old diabetes case I got back in '09 when I first got into PVs that I still had laying around but I'm thinking I'd like to get something nicer and easier to use.

I carry a few atomizers and bottles of juice in the opposite end but it's a tight fit.

Anyone point to a good pick and pluck case that could be customized? I'm just sick of wrapping up a bunch of atty's in papertowels and digging through the opposite end.

Maybe try Mini's E-Cig cases: ecigcase.hostwebs.com

They are custom made and from what I hear, they are also priced very decently. I haven't ordered mine yet, but will be shortly once my wallet catches up with my spending:laugh:!

Middle of nowhere
I use an old Osters(hair cutting shears) case I found at a yard sale.
Got a couple e-go batteries. For others to try out.
I put addies, drip tips(again trying purposes) and adapters in short fat pill bottles from my mom-in-laws medicine.
I carry a soft rag and several bottles of juice plus new cartos and addies.
Also have a small tool kit(tall bottle) to do minor repairs or tweaks.
I know it sounds huge but it still has room for much more but it's really not that big.
Forgot I carry my other Darwin and a usb charge cord.

I ordered some that are pretty nice and they fit all kinds of other mods also and can be used with a lanyard or put un your belt. I ordered 75 of them and have some more on the way...I havent put them on the site yet until the others come in and I can get a look at them to see whats what. I ordered from China so who knows when they will be here or what they will look like? lol

OK Drew... I got my Darwin today... thank you so much... it is excellent... the only thing that tastes burnt now is when I dial it up too high...

Seems to me that I should probably drop a 510 extender on it to save on chewing up the threads

Everything I've put on it so far just tastes and vapes better... no buyers remorse at all... I am very, very pleased
