Every 5-6 seconds? All day? Glad mine doesn't have this feature. I've only used one kind of carto on mine and I test a new one on another PV before I put it on my Darwin.
If you haven't already-go back to the site, click the "notify me" link and proceed. That way you'll know when the unit goes up for sale again. Don't give up-I KNOW that you'll love the Darwin once you get one. BTW, keep your eyes posted for one in the classsies...

The self check doesn't effect vaping in any way and you really don't notice it unless your staring at the screen. If I'm watching tv at night and have Darwin sitting on the table next to me is the only time the quick flashing can be annoying, so I just turn it over and problem solved.

You can "snug" the 510 to 510 adapter to the device (meaning perhaps another 1/4 turn beyond finger-tip turn soft stop) so it will not move when you remove the atty. But, for your own sake, only turn your attys/cartos with your fingertips until it stops turning. Anything more is completely unnecessary and risks other potential problems. This is not only for Darwin - it is for ALL atty/carto (and/or adapter) connections on ALL devices.
Yes, SLH....KD is right, it's completely normal on the new version. The board performs a "self-check" every 5-6 seconds to assure that no bad carto/atty or electrical condition exists. It is the Darwin making sure it is healthy and the light does flash quickly. Wish mine had that feature. Might be time to add another....

Gonna make a list of what I need when the darwin is available again. Any suggestions? So far I am thinking a 3.4ohm 306 atty and maybe a 510 4.5? Hoping that would be good enough for me to get an idea of where I want to be voltage wise. I might even grab the 5.0 if it would make a huge difference. I have 306 LR attys already which I will try but definately at a low voltage. Anything else I might want? Those vpx tanks look very interesting but I am thinking that the size would make the unit much less portable for me so I might have to try a carto which I have never used before. At the moment I use the ego-t and those would look quite ugly on the darwin lol. Let me know what you guys think![]()
The loveliness of the D'win is that you can use whatever you like on it, Panky. Since you're new to cartos, you might want to try the dual coils. Any atty will be fine on it, too. The VPX tank would also be a great addition, even if you were to use it primarily for home vaping.
Just my 2.
The dual coils work great, I use a variety of 510 attys mostly in the 2ohm range, 1.5 and 2ohm 306 attys and, of course, my vpx tanks! And I usually have the dial on the Darwin right at the mid point- 8.5. The Darwin does all the guess work for you.
My 2ohm cannon atty I'm using right now set at 8.5w is delivering 4.1volts, just to give you an idea.

Thought you liked flashers.
So is it time to say 'welcome home', Ski?

Ugh, I find myself checking the site way too often, trying to catch a glimpse of that "add to cart" button![]()
Hang in there Panky, I assure you it is worth the wait.
