Had mine for about 3 weeks now and it never leaves my side. I am totally in love with it. I have a Reo Grand for a backup and hit on it a few times and realized it wont work as a backup, I cant even feel the hit on it anymore, 3.7v is so yesterday to me now. Going to give it to the wife to try out. If the Darwin breaks and I have to send it back I will have to go back to analogs until I get a replacement, unless some how I can find the cash to buy a second one.

It would be nice if Evolv would let us secure a deposit via credit card on a replacement so they could advance one in the event it breaks. That should take care of any issue of a defective one not being returned in a timely manner.

If you are worried about a back up unit, you can not go wrong with a VPX tank at 3.7v. I use the VPX on both the darwin and another mod. Depending up on the ohms is which tank and CE2 goes on the Darwin. I keep both with me day and night. If I had to send my Darwin in, I wouldn't care how long it took as long as the VPX was close at hand. That is not to say I would want the Darwin to be away too long!

I was a straight 6 or 5V guy for two years, so saying the above is saying alot.

In most cases, Evolv has advanced a replacement Darwin without a deposit, as many of us can attest. Evolv won't leave you high and dry!

Is the Darwin swing arm sealed or can juice leak into the unit? Also, does the Darwin now come with the extender? Thanx.

Mr.P,,, Yes the Darwin now comes with a 510 to 510 extender, at least mine did, about 10 days ago and I'm real glad it did, saved me from buying one, which I fully intended to do anyway... I find it a must have in my opinion....

Hi guys.

Finally got a Darwin last Saturday, after waiting for months (I live in the UK). I am thrilled to bits with it, and it is everything that you made it out to be (whilst making me extremely jealous, reading you raving about it!).

I noticed something today for the first time. When the arm is extended, the brass connector wobbles back and forward a little bit, probably 5mm or so. Is this normal? The problem is, is that I'm not sure if it has been like this since I got it, or has only just started happening.

Cheers,

Rob

Hi Rob, welcome to to ECF, and the Darwinians. Mine has always had a little wobble, within the direction that it swings, but it has never been a problem. I have had mine a little over a month. Be sure to explore the differing heat ranges. Since Darwin can control everything so well, there is no need for low-resistance atty/cartos, they will limit the range of what Darwin can do. 2.5 or 3 ohm ones will also use less power, and make the battery last longer.

Be sure to get some low-nic juice, so you don't OD...
