Yep.. mine wobbles in the direction of motion... not an issue : )

Hi Rob, welcome to to ECF, and the Darwinians. Mine has always had a little wobble, within the direction that it swings, but it has never been a problem. I have had mine a little over a month. Be sure to explore the differing heat ranges. Since Darwin can control everything so well, there is no need for low-resistance atty/cartos, they will limit the range of what Darwin can do. 2.5 or 3 ohm ones will also use less power, and make the battery last longer.

Be sure to get some low-nic juice, so you don't OD...

Thanks for the quick reply Nano (and Chornbro), and thanks for the welcome. It is not a problem at the moment, and hopefully won't be. Just needed a bit of reassurance that it isn't anything out of the ordinary!

For the moment, I have only really been using 2 2.6-2.8 ohm Clearos, one of which is coming up as 2.5 ohms, and the other is 2.9 ohms. Have tried 2 different juices, and both are perfect for me at 5.7 watts. If I go higher than that, the flavour seems to deteriorate a bit. Is this a similar to your tastes?

I like between 9 and 11 watts... voltage depends on the ohms... but generally, higher-ohms means more battery life... because it brings the amps down... higher wattage means more throat hit and heat, but less flavor... 9-11 gives me a nice balance depending on the flavor, vendor, pg/vg blend, etc...

Welcome to all the new D'wins! We're an international family now, eh? You all might want to take a look at the Sticky on the Nhaler forum, "vape like a Research Monkey". Lots of info there. As a matter of fact, perhaps Drew will add to the original post to mention the arm wobble as being normal.

Krisb, you must be getting excited about the Vape Meet this weekend! Can't wait to hear all about it and see the pics! Yes, I did get a little lost from mine this last Saturday. SO much fun! Party time! Been recuperating, LOL.

Ok, so I need help. I had THE strangest experience just a few minutes ago. I put on an atty (have a shorty 510 extender on the D'win that is new... just got it at Vape Meet on Saturday and it's been fine) and without firing, the Darwin fired up! I pulled that atty off as quickly as I could (it was LR and HOT HOT HOT). Tried a regular res. atty and the same thing happened! I removed that, of course, then removed the extender. Tried both attys again, and they were fine. Hmmm... put the extender back on and now both attys are working normally.

HUH? Leave it to me to have the oddest experiences with my PVs. ;)

(PS. Chornbro, I noticed you finally did it!)

One more question for my boys in the know: 2 of my 1.5 LR attys are reading 1.2 ohms. I realize that is extremely low, but is there a danger in using them and will they continue to drop? Is there anything to do to bring them back to 1.5? A warm bath in vodka and a soft paper towel massage? A firm shake and a stare down?

Oh no, the extender must be bad. It just self-fired again, dammmmmit!

Update: It's not the extender. It's self-firing without the extender. :( And the display won't go off. The arm will almost not re-open if I close it, but I had to close it. Took a lot of effort to re-open it.

My baby is going to need Dr. Brandon, fast!

How Ya Doing Chornbro,,, I've been using a 4.3ohm atomizer at 8.5 watts and the Darwin reads out at exactly 6 volts.....
510 at 6 volts and it's awesome. I'll push it up to 9.5 watts from time to time but thats a little much for me.... just curious to what your using at 11 watts an atomizer or cartomizer??

Dont hit 11 very often... I like 10.5 with a 3.5 ohm Ikenvape 306... 11 is OK with my mostly-Pg juices... but scorches VG juices like AVE.

With Cartos (dual and single coil) I usually burn pretty high... 11-max... but I dont use Cartos very often at all.

Ok, so I'm packing it up and sending it back to Brandon. Once again, the CS with Evolv is beyond belief.

I was hoping to never have to send it back. But this self-firing scared the youknowwhat out of me. I'm be so happy to get a replacement!

Not relishing the thought of using nothing but 3.7 til it arrives tho. Sigh...

So they're going to send you a replacement before yours even arrives to their end?

Ouch, sorry to hear kat! I'm miserable at being restricted to only 3.7. Hope your wait is short!

3.7v keeps me satisfied with a 1.5 ohm on my Reo Grand... but you're right, it's nothing like a Darwin

Do you keep the replacement they send you?? Or do you send it back when you gets yours in the mail?

They've replaced mine each time I've sent it in. I was kinda disappointed in this because I had one of the first ones out with the signature on it. But so far each one has been an improvement, so overall I've been pleased.

Same here BigBopper
I sent my back a couple of times without a replacement because I didn't want to give up the signature but in the end I wanted a working Darwin so I relented. Their CS is the best. Anyone thinking about getting a Darwin will not be disappointed.
