Okay
If you drip.
You do not have to unscrew the cap. You just pop the little cap off and drip. You can unscrew the whole cap if you want but I would not believe you would have the drip nozzle(keeping it clean) to drip from. It would be an open bottle with no drip tip sorta say.

Yes the little ring is a tether for the small cap so you don't lose it.

Now did I confuse you more or help?

I'm going with "more", but I'm sure most people will understand. I get a bit weird on Sundays. :)

the ob, I installed one on mine before I attached the first atty/carto. Darwin's connector is brass, I did not want to ever be able to cross-thread it. I considered using Loctite to keep it in there. There are differing strengths of Loctite, all are removable, but some take an application of heat that could be bad for the insides of Darwin.

A 510-510 extender is a good thing, it lets me use several different heating devices, and still let it fold. It lets me use some tanks (that won't fold) that would be hard to use, otherwise.

I think it's great that it is being included as standard equipment, but I myself would like the ability to change it. I carry mine in differing pockets, and if I sat down on it just wrong in a snug Levi hip pocket, it is possible I could damage it.

drew,
question. how are they thread locked onto the darwin? just curious as I would like to buy one to attach to the one I have right now.

I need someone to talk me into buying a second darwin. I want a backup but am having trouble justifying it. My main issue is that if I buy a backup and do not use it for a while I basically have one that the warrantee is winding down on. If I wait and get a new one when I actually need one, then I have full warranty. I basically just want it.
