Hey fam! Quick question. Looking for some 801 DT's that are long (always have juice come back up with the short). Suggestions??

Krisb, For over a year I was completely dedicated to the Joye 302 atty (801 style) and a completely dedicated dripper. I am now mostly using the 801 carto but still have (and occasionally use) my 302s. I tried every 801 style drip-tip and, for me (we all know everything about every vape component is completely subjective), never found one I liked. I found they all made the draw too airy (obviously not your issue). I always much preferred the whistle-tip cart dummies that come stock with most 801 style attys. The hard shiny black ones are one of only two tip materials that I have found that never accumulate any grunge or lip-cheese. :p I also found I could drip right thru them with these: 1/2 OZ BOTTLE W/NEEDLE TIP They are only $1.80 each but the shipping is (if I recall correctly) about $6 so I bought them 10 at a time. I have given out many. The narrow gauge of the blunt needle fits easily thru the whistle-tip hole (some tips I had to wiggle it thru first time - easy thereafter) puts out smaller drops so you have to get a feel for how long each squeeze. I just used 4 quick squeezes and found that perfect.

After a short period of use, I quickly found I could get the blunt needle tip thru the whistle-tip hole by feel easily and quickly so that I could effortlessly drip without even looking. No worries about perfectly aligning the bottle with the mouth-piece, missing or dripping down the sides, and easy to drip in darker environments, etc. They also work great with ANY drip tip. The little cap could be better but I've been using these for over a year and so far lost only one cap. I have ten of them in use now. But, as of the last month or so I seem to be stuck on only ONE JUICE???!!!

I originally learned about them here:
‪Smokie Demonstrates 1/2 oz Needle tip bottle from Racers-edge.com‬‏ - YouTube

BTW, these are also great for filling and refilling cartos. with just a little effort, you can slide the needle down the side of the filler and fill from the bottom of the carto and then raise the needle as you go to fill right up the sides. Because the gauge is narrow, thicker juices go a bit slower but it is still the best/easiest dripping/filling I have found to date. Syringes work great for filling cartos this way too but sometimes pulling out a syringe can raise eyebrows.

Ahh, but we LIKE raised brows, Neb!

Congrats to our newest D'win owners! Enjoy enjoy.

Drew, that is a fantastic write up for your site. Seems I read that somewhere before, but can't recall exactly when or where. Much of it looked familiar.

Love the idea of the specs being posted on the site, too.

Curios how much battery time everyone is getting. I get a full day into the evening and it starts to get very low before I go to bed. Lets say its a friday though and I vape at work all day then decide to go out without time to recharge I will end up running out. Especially if Im drinking..... Is everyone else really getting through 2 days? Do I just vape to dam much? What attys are you using for the longest battery life?

Also Empire mods Drip shield... Works amazing but its its scratching the Darwin on the side if I close the arm. Trying to figure out a solution. Its also really hard to get into the case with it on. I keep debating on buying a gooseneck but it seems soooo long. Hmmmm. Wonder if they make a super tiny one.

Mine usually is very close to drained at bed time...sometimes I don't quite make it through a full day without some charge time. Keep in mind I'm talkin up to 5ml of liquid in such a day...so that's not bad at all.

On the Empire shield...
I use 510>510, 510>901, 901>510 extensions in a series when using a 510 atty. This puts the drip shield a great position to open and close with minimal rubbing against the Darwin. Having the segmented adapters also gives a little more wiggle-play in the swinging action. I rarely pocket or sheath mine, so rubbing isn't an issue for me. If I did, I'd probably just put a bit of electrical tape on the Darwin to protect the finish at 'rub points'.

Having said all that...I already have piles of adapters laying around to mix/match/stack. If I didn't have all that, I'd probably just get a short goose neck and be done with it :)

Your battery probably drains from the extra voltage/amps needed to push current through all those adapters : P

Could be, but lotta my stuff won't fit on it without at least two.
And 5ml of liquid is pretty good battery life...whether you vape it all in 4 hours or 4 days....still a lot of battery drain there.

Resistance/amps/volts showing on the Darwin with a particular atty is the same, with the extensions or not...so I dunno that they make that much of a difference. Really, does an extension cord make it cost more electricity to run a power drill? With speaker wires and stuff like that longer wire can make a difference in 'audio quality', but that's all about 'noise' and 'impedances' being introduced into an audio signal...but an e-cig atty isn't gonna care much about that sort of stuff....it just wants to be fed raw energy ;)

I just figured out how to use this thing! I was being stupid and screwing down the 510 jumbo carto too tight and not getting enough of a draw through it.
Getting almost no vapor at all and what I did get was making me hack-cough-gag.
Once i loosened it up to where I could get a good draw through it it worked like a champ.
Should be even better once I get the 510>808 adapter in and I can start using the myriad of 808 horizontal-coil cartos I've got laying around all over the place.
I've got 5 blank jumbo 808 cartos just waiting on it.
But crap, it took a whole week of fiddling with it 10-15 minutes a day before my stupid n00bness wore off enough to figure it all out.

Which is good because I have a loooong drive ahead of me tomorrow going pretty much from one end of a country to the other.

Right. I'm used to 808's - just screw the carto on tight and puff away. With the Darwin it wound up being a big old bag o' hurt.

Ahhhh....Banana Nut Bread coma....

Sounds tasty and I am sure that it's even better combined with the relief of figuring out what the problem was

this is going to sound like the most newbie question ever........

How do you check all the stats of volts and the other info when you are actually using the darwin? Or do you just push the button and look? How long do you hold down the button for?

I have worried that it is bad to do that while not pulling. is that not the case?

I am generally getting this 3.4v 2.3a 1.4om. what do these numbers mean and how do they relate to what I have it set at?
