this is going to sound like the most newbie question ever........

How do you check all the stats of volts and the other info when you are actually using the darwin? Or do you just push the button and look? How long do you hold down the button for?

I have worried that it is bad to do that while not pulling. is that not the case?

I am generally getting this 3.4v 2.3a 1.4om. what do these numbers mean and how do they relate to what I have it set at?

You can check the stats by holding the button for a few seconds. As long as you don't do it for too long it will be fine. Seems like you are using a low resistance atty/carto so you probably don't wanna crank it up too high. I would run it under 4v to be safe :D

the ob, those numbers mean you are running about 7.82 watts (Power = Voltage x Amperage). Conveniently, you can now just look at the big numbers on your display, and they should say about that. With other PVs you have to get a calculator and meter out to know the wattage. The 1.4 ohm resistance you cannot change (unless you change atty/carto) and is just an informational display. You can see an atty/carto change as it ages.

On mine right now, I am running close to the same wattage tonight (7.7 watts), but I am using a 3.1 ohm carto. My current draw (amperage) is however only 1.6 amps. You and I are getting about the same results, but your battery will run down faster...

You can safely punch the button to look, but don't let it sit there and cook, especially with a LR atty/carto like you have. They live longer with cooling air running through them. In very general terms, you can get the same results (watts, or heat), with longer battery life by using a higher resistance atty/carto.

Hi everyone. :) New Darwinian here, and absolutely love it! This thing has me discovering flavors in my e-juices I never tasted before.

Grats DarkFalconX! Mine came today too!

Push and look. If the atty/carto are wet a 1 sec push won't hurt. Here is a link for the ohm's law wheel:

Ohm's Law

Oww ma heid!! Wheels n formulaes n calculations n things! Jings crivvens help ma boab! I know some peeps like this stuff..but me?...forget it..lol.

Reason i bought the darwin was so i could screw anything i got lyin around and it would figure all that stuff out for me so i could just get on with awesome plooms and reach my coma grinning!!..lol.

Guess what...it does all that! Absolutely brilliant so far. Best vapin experience i have ever had ever!

Btw thanks Drew for the great sevice and thank you for the extras. Much appreciated.
I need more water...later chums...i'm just care free vapin here and its a gas!

Even the wife approves cos now i'm soooo mellow and grinnin from ear to ear!

Chose2live, welcome to Darwinia! To be easy about it, the Big Number is the one that counts the most, for taste and vape. You can put (almost) any atty/carto on there and still find the Big Number that works well for you. If you use a higher resistance atty/carto, your battery will last longer. Experiment with the wheel, some juices taste different at different temps. Some combo juices will let you taste one flavor better cooler, and the other one better when it's hotter. It's cool to be able to mix it on the fly.

I have no experience with those, so I can't comment. It seems like there should be some difference, running the full range of Darwin. There aren't any wrong or right numbers, just pick the Big Number that works the best for you. Have you tried other atty/cartos on it?

yes, several. they all seem pretty similar to me. I do not know why I never notice a huge difference.

Absolutely!!

C2L glad it meets your expectations! You do not need to calculate a thing the wheel was for OB who had some questions about the numbers. As nano stated dial to favorite watts and vape away. Enjoy and I sure do hope you stocked up on some lower nic juice :)

I was just foolin liv  You and the other posters on here give great advice and service to peeps on the forum.

Hats off to you guys.

I do love the simplicity of this user experience though. Any thing that makes vaping simple and enjoyable can only be a good thing for all, vets and beginners both, espescially when its as good as this!!

Low nic? wots that then?:toast:

Careful C2L the "it must be all mechanical or it will break" fan club may see that post about how great the Darwin is. It really is the best thing out there right now. I have stated a few times I own several top end MODs along with a few VV's, the Darwin is the only MOD I have bought more than 1 of. I just can not imagine being without it. Now if Drew finally offers the color option I would need another arm.

Well I would never have believed it. I just spent a week in the hospital and when I entered I decided to ask if I could vape while I was in there. To my supprise after the nurse checked with whoever they said it was ok since it was only vapor. Had quite a parade of people coming in to see how it worked. Was the only room that had clouds of vapor. :) Sure made for a more enjoyable stay there.

Appreciate the heads up L2s,but honestly, I always call it the way i see it. I observe thread protocol and never name other mods unless asked. However, this is also a hobby and to get full enjoyment out of it i believe one should try whats out there. I never ram an opinion down anyones throat but i do state what my opinion is.

I have not recieved the "mechanical" mod yet and am sure it will perform well. Its horses for courses and all mods are different thank goodness. I am an enthusiastic vaper and believe vaping has saved my life.

I have "another" mod coming in a few weeks also and intend to order yet another.

To date the Darwin in my experience is the best i have yet experienced .
I stand by that and absolutely love it. I am looking forward to using it for a very long time.

I do get excited with my hobby and that comes across in the many boards i subscribe to. I will never decieve anyone though it is what it is and i am who i am. Variety is the spice of life.

I guess i'm a mod ....!..lol

Not a Rant my friend...just and lots of enthusiasm and high nic!!...lolol

OK, I've had my Darwin for a few hours now and the device is working great! Unfortunately I can't say the same for the cartomizers I chose. I ordered 2 of these: New Varying Resistance Dual Coil 510+801 Colossal Cartomizers

I filled a whole lotta juice, did the Taryn spin and loaded up more juice then vaped. YUCK! burned carto flavor! I've had a few 808s start out this way and start working better so I kept trying to suck enough juice through it to get it working but eventually gave up from nausea.

I decided to fill the other one. This time I pushed the filling away from the side wall and waited awhile before vaping. Definitely better, but the flavor is still lacking even with the power at the lowest setting (good VP and TH, though). I think I made two mistakes:
1. I got dual coil, and
2. I got LR (which I suppose most dual coils are since it cuts the resistance in half).

I suspect the juice I typically use (RY4 from SI) likes lower heat. It kinda makes sense since it is meant to be used with a Volt.

Do you guys think my assessment was correct, that I need to order some single coil HV or standard resistance cartos?
Thanks for all your help!

I too have only had mine a few hours...lovin it. I have a bunch of different cartos and atties to try on the Darwin but tbh i stuck a regular joye 510 on via a couple of 510/510 adapters with a new drip tip and have been just so blown away with the vape i havent got around to tryin the others yet lol. Just trying a few different juices. I have a lot to look forward to with 910's 306's hv,lr stds and cartos too.

But you are correct..other than maybe leavin the cartos to sit for a bit and starting off at the lowest setting and working up...try the standard or hv stuff you have.
