Hell yeah now were are the girls???? Shreveport huh did you phone home yet??? we all felt that Virginia quake in Upstate. I have felt them before but this one went on for about 45 secs and was pretty strong for the Albany area. No damage but you could see the building moving.

Oh puleeze. I live in the EQ capital of the world. You babies. (J/K!)

I was in an elevator in queens, it was banging against the shaft - I thought the elevator was breaking! then I heard about the earthquake when I got out of it. some crazy stuff! imagine being in a high rise in downtown manhattan.. building swaying.. I hear it felt like being on a boat

I'm sorry, but I couldn't read past "it was banging against the shaft". What else did you say?

Good morning Darwinians...if anyone has experience using an 801 atty w/Darwin (or on anything else for that matter) give me some tips on how to prevent it from tasting burnt after only a few hits.

Im running4.8 801 atty @5.2 volts (dial's on 5.2 also) and although it was primed well (no primer taste) the juice seems to burn off rather quickly and I drop in about 6 more drops and BAM! burnt taste, burning tongue...not primer "burnt", just too dang hot or something...what's up???

Im vaping 70/30 clear juice BTW... These 801's are a trip!!!!

I happen to have a 4.7 ohm HV 801atty on one of my Darwins as I read this. I find with most of my HV 801 attys in general they require more juice. Oh, I'm dripper. This particular atty seems to like 5-6 drops at a time running on 9.6 watts.

I'm guessing yours probably is thirsty as well. However I can use a regular BE-112 at the same higher watts/volts without using as many drops.

Well...I have been watching this thread for over 700 pages now and finally just took the plunge and ordered a Darwin. I'd been resisting the urge but was cleaning out my "vaping" drawer at home and looking at all the mods I have collected over the year and a half I've been vaping instead of smoking which made me think it's time for a do it all single PV (especially considering my busy schedule forces me to mostly use a Extended Ego with LR 306 on the go while my many mods sit in the drawer). I did get the 510-510 extender thanks to the advice here.

What are some of the updated favorite atty and setting combos (and juices even) for the Darwin?

Drew - you got me again! Looking forward to the new toy, its been a while since I got me a new puffer and this one looks to be the best yet. I think the wife and I have just about every mod you've sold over the years except the Meucci and many other kits (KR808, Ego, etc). Thanks for keeping us off the analogs!

Hey Debook...good for you. I KNOW that you'll love your Darwin. Although I have and ego and mini REO the Darwin is all I use.

*****My favorite combo is a SR 901 atty (using a 510-901 adapter) with dial on 7.4. I like the 901's for their good TH, pretty tight draw and (since I like to DD) they hold a fairly decent amount of juice.

I cant believe you waited this LONG!!! The 510 to 510 comes attached on the newer units , but I will replace the one you ordered with a 510/Ego adapter and something to try out with it...I also have a couple other little do-dads I will throw in there...
You cant imagine how great I feel when I hear you and other folks talking about being off of the cigs...What a pleasure!
Enjoy my freind.

Well I'm officially part of the club! Got a darwin yesterday for my birthday. Its by far the best vape Ive had so far! I do have one complaint though, the 510 to 510 adapter that is glued on to the darwin almost looks like it was miss threaded when it was being glued. the adapter leans toward the darwin which causes my cartomizers to rub against the darwin every time i turn it off. This makes me afraid to use metal drip tips in fear of scratching it. I was also planning on using a drip shield which i don't think will fit in off position with it being this way. Anyone have suggestions as to what i should do?

Very cool, thanks Drew! Can't wait to get my hands on it, planning to resurrect the 801's, 901's, HV's and different cartos I have collected and see what I like. The ability to dial in the perfect flavor and heat will be sooo cool.

I used Be112s attys for over a year until I started trying cartos like the dual coils. I used just Be112s on my Darwin for about 4 months and dripped. I highly recommend the BE112 LR and SR atties (LRs are were my favs 8W-10W). Their HRs suck! If you are getting a burnt taste and you have to drip more ofthen then you should you should lower the watts setting until you get a good hit and taste. Another thing I found with the stealth 801-510 adapter is to super glue or plug one of the air holes on the adapter. This tightens the draw some but it also will give you better flavor and the juice that settles down below the coil will be sucked up to the coil and get vaped. If you are using the SLB 801s get some BE112s. They give good flavor and last along time.

Gone, I'm so glad you asked the question about the 801s. I'm no 801 expert, but I do own one 3.5oHm (IKV). I just tossed it on my D'win to try it out (I think I've used this particular atty only once since I bought it, and why that is, I dunno ;)). First off, I primed it with 13 drops! And I could have gone for more but stopped to give it a whirl. A couple of short vapes (pretty good) then another 3 drops. Then a couple more lovely warm vapes, and the addition of yet 4 more drops. That's 20 drops of 80/20 TV Caramel Popcorn (one of my faves, thanks to Krispy). It's vaping VERY well now, but I can almost sense it's time to drop a bit more liquid in. So, I'm going to state that the 801s (at least THIS one) are juice hoglets! Let us know if more juice an dialing down did the trick for you.

I'm having a lot better 'luck' now with my attys since I've changed up the cleaning and storing methods.

I got mine on Friday and noticed the same thing, it leans toward the case, is this normal?

I just purchased a Darwin on the ECF Classie's. I was unsure if I had a battery issue. So I contacted Evolv. As it turns out I did have a battery issue. So I returned it to Evolv Saturday 8/20. Needless to say it is 8/24 and my Darwin is fixed and in my hands right this very moment. A Warranty is only as good as the Company that provides the service. I give Evolv LLC a 20 on a scale of 1 to 10 for Warranty issues. They are Top shelf. I suspect Brandon is one of Santa's Elf's. Living at a Post Office somewhere in Ohio to pull off such a insanely fast turnaround like I got. And it was not just an exchange. We are talking Personal attention given to Your Darwin. You'll see what I'm talking about when you send it in for repair. Your only concern should be what PV to use wile your Darwin is being repaired.

I love this thing. This not a complaint, I'm curious if this is normal and it would take a lot of convincing to get to me let go of it for a few days.:vapor:
