Hey guys, got lots of reading to do in this thread, but figured I would chime in, I placed my order yesterday, mailman stalking commences next week.

Really excited to get my hands on this thing.

I'm sure its generally covered in the 788 pages here, but what is the general consensus on the most commonly used wattage settings?

Also, is the software that runs on these upgradeable through the USB port, like if a new version of the software rolls out at some point?

Thanks guys, can't wait to be rockin the Darwin!

Wow I've been gone for a week and there's 50 new pages!!!! Anyways, I'm loving my Darwin!!!! It hasn't left my side...lol anything I put on it, Darwin performs flawlessly. Right now I'm using a i06 atty from Ikenvape wow!!! The flavor is incredible!!

Now the only thing I have waiting on are 2 Genisis LV atties.
I have no idea why that person who shall not be named, from across the pond gave the Darwin such a crappy review. I can't understand anyone who tried it wouldn't absolutely fall in Love w/ it...Anyways, Drew and the peeps at Evolv thank you so much for putting such a awesome PV on the market.

UC gald to hear the i06 works well on the Darwin. I just ordered 2 last night to give them a try.

Go see KD's post (vape like a research monkey while you wait it's in the nhaler forum). I pretty much stay right around the mid point. The 8.5w setting. I do dial up and down occasionally but I have found that the 8.5 is really nice for most of my cartos'atty's. Not sure but I do not think you can upgrade through the port but will let someone liuke NB chime in and confirm. I will say the port is handy since I charge off my USB with it. Welcome to the club and here is hoping the new Darwin makes it to you really quick

Panky all is good. If you had replied under your Panky handle nobody would have blinked an eye :). But with the OMG handle I was thinking who is this and how did someone with only 13 posts find the land of Darwin and start hitting on our women. We do not have enough Ladies in here and we need to keep the Harem we have in the tent else we will be running with the sheep and goats. Mazolla, tarps, donward facing sheep just do not do it for me !!! Happy vapes man

 leave it to me to throw everyone off :p As far as the downward facing sheep, I am not sure that I wanna know

The i06 works great.... the DT though is wonky. The center hole is too small, so the nicquid stays on the sides of the DT and not on the bridge...I've read that you can use a 1/4" drill bit to make the hole bigger to solve the problem. Also, some i06's, from what people say have a weird taste/primer...Mine didn't have it, though...

Thanks I read that too. IU only bought one of each so if they do not hit tyhe spot no great loss. Hopefully better than the Malestrom. I tried those and while OK there is much variability in performance on the 7 I bought

Here is another Darwin vs. Provari thread.... This person is trying to decide which one to buy for his very 1st mod....there is nobody other than me who has a Darwin replying (all Provari users) I haven't used a Provari so I can't give him a 1st hand comparison. If anybody wants to give him/her advise here is the thread.

NB chimed in with a response and so did I. Both MOD's are top end and I have both. Although I will admit I have not fired up the Vari in over a month. Anyway most of the posters there are so sold on not liking the Darwin based on the "uncommon" design that you will be hard pressed to get them past it. I am thinking for those types maybe a "rent-a-PV" type of service may get them over the fence. You know put your credit card number in, send them a PV, get charged a weekly rental and after 1 month if not returned charge the card full sales price less rental and some handeling charges. Although it would most likely be a nightmare to manage.

When I was debating on getting a Darwin my thought was if I didn't like it I could just post a classy FS and get the majority of my money back....I laugh at the naive thought now... I freakin love this thing....Now if only I could put it down for a couple minutes..lol

UC put it down??? You mean someday I might be able to do that?? I have even done the two hand Darwin vape. You should see the cloud when firing and pulling off two Darwins at the same time. I reserve this special method for those extra stressful times at work if I am running from one meeting to the next but damn dual Darwins deliver that nerve settling nic really quick :) Happy vapes and enjoy the long weekend

hey guys! lol, thanks for linking my thread up here liv2ski, this decision keeps racking my brain, lol, trust me im not a month pv rental guy, i want something im going to have for a long time, it seems like alot of the provari guys are like get the provari but dont say much about it, and the darwin guys have a little more usful information on both, which says alot. the asthetic things im not really big on, i could care less about looks, i actually like the look of the darwin anyways. lol i think i like the idea of the constant watts rather than just voltage, makes more sense to keep the vaping constant, i am a heavy chain vaper like in between classes and stuff and it seems that would keep me at one spot better without hurting the atty or my fingers when it gets to hot.
one question i have is i normal use the lr ego mega cone shaped atty and i have some of the dual coil smoketech ego mega cartos, if i got an adapter would that work as fine also? and another question is alot of people seem to be having trouble with like low resistence ones on the provari, or dual coil, do those work fine? i guess you can usually get more vapor from them thats why thats what a go to, or would it be better to just have a regular atty or carto?
lastly has anyone used the tank mods like the liquinator on the darwin and how is that?
if i go with the darwin, im prolly going to get a gooseneck and tank mod or large carto for when im out and prolly just dripping when im chilling out at the house. i havnt made up my mind yet, but as of now im leaning towards the darwin, thanks for the help guys!

Well, I can now say that the Darwin handles both an earthquake and a hurricane just fine. And it fits nicely inside my motorcycle jacket.
Thank God for modular helmets...in slow-moving traffic through town I just flip up the chinbar, whip out the Darwin and vape away. The few times I had to grab the clutch I could do so with the Darwin in-hand. Not suggested for inexperienced riders.
I actually discovered a way to vape hands-free while riding a motorcycle with an auto-battery: aquarium store plastic tubing large enough to fit on an 808 carto. Would probably work with the Darwin as well but I didn't try it. As long as the visor is flipped up just a tiny bit it doesn't fog up a proper full-face helmet.

State Trooper: "Sir, the road to the Outer Banks is out."
Me: "Roads? Where I'm going I don't need roads."
Tide out. BMW riding along the sand completely bypassing the collapsed and washed-out roadway.

Now I'm back in my shack in the desert. Bummer.

Well, it is September 3rd and Vapefest is less than 2 weeks away. It should be the biggest vape-meet ever! You can see the list of registered venders here: Vegas Vapefest 2011! I would imagine there may be others who do not register. I would also imagine every PV under the sun will be in attendance - not to mention more juuuuuce than you can vape in a lifetime! :p

I'll be there and I hope may of you will go too. I'd enjoy meeting you all. I should be pretty easy to find. I look like this:

Yes, all of those work fine on the Darwin. I use dual coils often (1.5 and 2.0 ohm, also the eGo mega duallies). Tank mods work fine, too, you just can't close the arm with them on, but leaving the device in the on position doesn't drain the battery enough to even think about so it's not really an issue.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love a Provari, but I'm quite happy with my decision to go for a Darwin instead :vapor: And now that I know more about both of them (than I did back in May when I was deciding which to get), I'm even happier about my decision. The vari is a great mod, don't get me wrong, but the Darwin suits me just fine :2cool:

I think you'll be happy with either way you go, I don't know many dissatisfied users of either device, but I think you can guess where my opinion lies :p
