mmm, well I guess it is part of the unit variance...must be put together at some point by hand ....as long as it works, no biggie

makes them all unique after all, not being woodies ;-)

Correct emonty. It looks like about 1mm tolerance or so on the internal machining of the brass swivel connector and you will see some varaiance in the overall throw on the arm. One of mine is similar and is like jameth indicated (opposite of yours). For me no big deal but I could see were a little OCD could kick in for some :). So do tell did you sleep with it the first night?????? The thing hits like a prize fighter doesn't it?

Emonty,

Not sure if it will help but like Drew has said a little bit of electrical Grease injected where the brass meets the unit in order to help the arm move a little smoother may also help that close a tad more. There seems to be a little bit of play in that last bit of close, like you can push the arm all the way down but then it automatically moves back up a little bit, the electrical grease may help this

mine does not close all the way, not that the tip is blocking, but to show on the picture the angle that it stays in. Without attie it will not show it on the picture that well but the connector does not close straight....

Mine is the same. Doesn't seem to effect it negatively though. With a BE112 and adapter on there it may be an issue, but with a dual coil carto it's fine.

Did you click on the wrong post to quote? I am confused  You must be talking about the battery one

Yes Panky you are correct the batt one!!!! That is weird something strange happened there since I was on the batt post and it pulled the one previous post from you. I am 100% certain I clicked reply to that since it was the last post in this thread at the time and was right above my post to emonty. Oh no maybe the moblins are at work again and this is a precursor to a potential outage soon :)

no worries, it is open most of the time anyway!!! ;-) thxs for the answers!!

@ Red Dog: almost 2 years bro!!!

Hard to believe it's been that long. But my lungs certainly feel better. Things have certainly come a long way from that first M401 I paid $60 for at a smoke shop.

Yeah, perfectly normal. Mine is pretty much exactly like that, as well, but it doesn't hinder any functionality at all

Just a quick welcome to all the new Darwin owners.
I've been busy with remodeling our new house, and finally had a chance to catch up on this thread. (I've read every post so far, still awaiting my t-shirt;))
Congrats Ski on becoming a veteran, I didn't even realize there was such a club, or that I was a member;)

Have a good weekend, mine starts in a few minutes. I should get the drywall up by the end of it, and maybe get back to the bathroom demolition.
