I know this is a long thread (with many other discussions between the content) but most of this has been discussed. Darwin batts are best if topped off regularly instead of always vaping to cut-off. I charge every night (and at some point during a day if I plan on a late night away from easy charge/PT access). Reality check: I have more than one so this is rarely an issue for me.
Hours of batt life is a huge variable depending on what you are using, how you are using it, etc. So there is no realistically accurate way to compare one users hours of use per charge cycle against anyone else's. The absolute fastest I have ever drained a Darwin batt to cut-off is 12 hours (approx 6 or 7 mls using 2.8 - 3Ωs at around 9 watts). Most often, I get more in the 15 hours range. I could see it being less if used even more (aggregate button time), with any lower Ωs, and other variables. The amps drawn is one primary indicator (higher the amps # = faster drain) - along with aggregate button time - both (separately and together) will greatly impact use per charge cycle. Also remember, the gauge is not exactly accurate. It shows full even thru several hours of use. Thus, the inverse is also probably true. In other words, as soon as gauge shows "full" on the charger does not necessarily mean the charge cycle is complete. Basically, I try to leave mine on a charger for about 6 to 7 hours each day (usually while I am sleeping). These have safe-charge circuitry so you cannot over-charge them.
We all know Evolv is great at responding directly to Darwin users so I'd suggest not panicking. If you have a concern - just use the "contact us" link on their page and you will get an ACCURATE answer (rather than speculative and/or possibly inaccurate info here). Of course, for basic use type questions, there are many knowledgeable and helpful Darwinians here who can (and are always happy to) be helpful. But any technical concerns are always best brought directly to the source.
