I'm with ya on the CE2's. I've always liked them, I don't mind the fiddling to get them to work since I only have to do it once and they last me several weeks each, and on the Darwin they're awesome because sometimes you just need to fine-tune the hit on them a little bit for best results.

@Landlord: It's about time you got your Darwin, you've been trying for so long :) Here's to hoping it lives up to your expectations this time . . . not that I have any doubts ;-)

It has so far today.. like the old saying goes "you dont know what you have til its gone" well it took me about 4 months and about 7 different VV mods to figure it out.. I need me darwin back.. LOL

Ok. I have a serious question. I've had my Darwin about a month, and today had my first issue. I fired it up and nothing. Looked at the screen and it read 8.4 watts, 0.0 ohms, 0.0 amps 12.7v. I took the atty off and reattached it and it's worked fine since. Should I be worried about an imminent failure? Getting ready to travel abroad, and being limited in what I can bring, don't want to chance being without a PV.

If you take off your atty/carto and fire it you will get the same readings.....it could just have been an atty/carto just not making connection (center pin)...

Cool thanks. I am glad it's nothing to be worried about.

Fazed retird is correct. Now as for the traveling I do many international trips and only fly carry on. Therefore real estate is a big factor so the Darwin is a perfect travel companion since it can easily be charged off a laptop. With that said ALWAYS have a backup. I have found the easiest is ego/rivas since they can also be charged off the USB. I travel with 2 Darwins and 4 ego/riva. I also carry a padded envelope in case someone ever changes the rules mid trip that way I can step out of line and mail the Darwins back to myself. This is a low probability but I go some places that you just never know what wacky rule will be enforced. The only place that I have had more than just the question of "do they really work" was in China when they wanted to see what the Darwin was and what it was for. I happily blew a few hits at them in the Nanjing airport. Safe travels and happy vapes.

I would add a suggestion to put the Darwin in the tray with your mobile phone. I've done 3 trips with the Darwin, about 5 cities in China (I had the Darwin forwarded to me while I was on a long trip there), Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur. Had trouble in Indonesia but went smooth through China and KL. I caught a peek of the xray screen when going through KL and the Darwin looked a lot like my mobile phone. I think if you lump it with the phone, it will be easier for security to dismiss it as a threat.

I like to use poly fill cartos when I hit airports. This is because there is no visible liquid. It varies per country, but in Asia, you can easily put liquids in your suitcase. So I put all my liquids there and just carry on 6-10 filled XL DC cartos. No need for quart ziplocks and no extra hassle. My goal in traveling is for no delays. Nothing to make security delay me.

Traveling is where PVs fail a bit in comparison to death sticks. You can buy death sticks anywhere. Used to travel with only a few packs and buy a few reams in duty free on the airplane. PVs are something if you get stuck, you are probably SOL. So I am with L2S, backups are key and Egos are the best.

I am of 2 minds about traveling with the Darwin. It is just as convenient as passthrough Ego batts (USB charge anywhere) and I don't really want to be without it. However, its a hole in my airport routine, as Indonesia showed. It is a question mark. I have done a few trips with my Ego batts and my Ego Booster and not had any trouble. Indeed, in Indonesia my Ego Booster and Ego batts were in my carry on and they didn't raise any eyebrows, only the Darwin did. Then there is also the issue of loss. When you travel the probability of loosing something increases. I can live with loosing an Ego battery or what have you but loosing the Darwin would be painful. :)

Was up all?

I have one of the first released signature darwins, have had it at least a few months now that I got from classifieds. I've only let it (accidentally) fully discharge twice. The screen would flash and it would barely put out any voltage and I'd put it on charge right away. I didn't charge it for two days up until yesterday, had it on the charger all day and all night last night and it still only shows about 70% charge. I vape dual coils all day so I can understand why yesterday it never got fully charged, but overnight is weird. Usually it gets to 100% in a few hours.

I'm not very familiar with how lithium polymer batteries work, think maybe since I didnt charge it for two days before this that somehow its just the fuel gauge thats off? Anyone have any experience with this?

Hey Jim,
It does have over, under and around the corner protection!!! I would parrot what Retird has said though , as Brandon is really the guy to ask about all things Darwin. He could recognize most issues through email and if he has questions or concerns , he will usually just give you a call. Thanks
Drew

Drew carries the steel-tubed ones, but personally I like the clearomizers. I get the smokey black tube ones from TW (soon to be no longer carried there and replaced by another product). Those are Rev5, btw, as are the Nhaler ones. I know some people prefer the wicking in the R4 ones, but I've had better luck with the single fat wicks, myself ;-)

Got my darwin today... they changed the connector and the arms are a lot clickier.. seems a lil more durable.. I. Havnt noticed the blinking yet but I'm sure I will.. thanks Drew...

Clickier? Mine originally sort of clicked if you extended it to 180 degrees, but I never use it like that. Are there increments o' click? Show us the new connector, if you can.
