I just saw Vapians post about the Adapter, I only use the sealed 510-510 mod type connector adapter on my Darwin for the most part but do use an occasional different one if I want to run something different. I haven't had any issues at all so far, has anyone else had anything happen from this ? I dont see how these adapters can short something unless you ground something out by over tightening something though. how would one spot a bad adapter or what would cause it to be bad and short out something other then over tightening ? just curious

Newtown's changed a bit in the last few years - built up a lot. Have family there.

Kitty - sorry about the Riva's - was new and that was my first kit. I didn't use any of them very long. Should've known better than to try to sell a disposable ecig. When I saw your ad thought it was a good thing to do and guess it didn't work out. They're a nice starter just not meant to last I guess.

JC - would the Darwin give an error message if you put on a bad adapter or does it cause a malfunction? Will play with it w/o the tank for a while I guess - don't have an adapter.

Good question MWA, I have two darwins, one came with the adapter, the second one I had to buy, and it's not the same type, but using tanks I had to do it.

The only problem I've had was due to some new cartos, didn't realize the darwin was acting as my warning system, started acting freaky, took it off and promptly fried 2 riva batts before I knew it...........and that isn't a smell that evaporates as quickly as vapor........

never thought about it til now

should just be a 510-510 adapter
510 to 510 Extender
thats the one i got (sealed) when i ordered my darwin, it works perfectly, i reccomend one for using a drip shield and stuff like that, a tank like a jonboy or liquinator, you most likely wont be able to close unless you get a gooseneck, regular boge carts dont need an extender but i leave mine on to reduce the wear on the one that comes on the brass arm, but by all means, you do not NEED one, shouldnt really need another adapter unless you plan on putting non 510 stuff on it

Good info Vapian. What are the new ones you ordered? What is the different design and from what site are they?

Since Drew doesn't seem to carry the GoGo adapters, hopefully he won't mind me sharing. :)

Of the type that I have now, half came from GotVapes and half from from Go-GoUSA.com (now DiscountVapers). They are the type that DV now calls the "510/eGo Battery to Go-go" adapter.

I took a look and believe the problem comes from the construction. These have a hollow body (Ground) and two "hot" pins (for the GoGo on one end & 510 on the other) with a short wire soldered between them. There are silicone rings that keep the pins from shorting to the body, but that wire has broken loose from the GoGo side in all of mine. Probably from the slight twisting that comes from screwing the GoGo carto on and off. When that wire does break and contacts the main body, that's all she wrote.

The new ones I'm getting from DiscountVapers are called the "510 Battery to Go-go" adapter. It's a lower profile adapter apparently designed for use with standard 510 batteries. From the pics it looks to have construction similar to most non-sealed 510-510 shorty adapters, so I'm hoping it's a solid hot pin from 510-to-GoGo that won't be able to short unless the silicone insulator is compromised. It might require a shorty extender to fit the Darwin.

Just received the shipping notice so I should be able to let you know how they work out this week.

Fellow Darwinians - I know some of you like me are into DIY. I am not sure if you have been following the Box Elder debacle but Kut just posted some results of his extensive titration work. I am not an alarmest but if you do have any BE nic in your inventory please check it and if it does not seem right chuck it. It is a small price to pay for safety.

No problem Vc I just wanted our clan to be safe and to check the inventory they have. I am certain with the amount of experience most of this crew has they would know that something was not right. I know the stuff I recieved from them smelled and tatsed like something our famous research monkey pulled out of his .... It was promptly used for fun as an incecticide around the house. Yes sometimes its the little things that amuse us guys :) and killing bugs with nic, well lets just say I did not have ants around for sometime!!!!
