I had a thing happen with my Darwin last night, I had a 1.5 ohm single coil car to on there and a 510 to 510 sealed adapter on there, it worked perfectly for about an hour or so, and then it wouldn't fire, I looked at the screen and where the Evolv logo is it was showing something I had never seen before, I took off the carto and the adapter, screwed the car to back on, no problem, tried it with the adapter back on there no problem, then this morning the same thing happened again. Is this just an adapter issue?

It sure sounds like your adapter is shorted out, I know I have only had a Darwin for a few days but I have had plenty of experience with stupid adapters. They are not hard to mess up and it is definitely a good idea to swap them out every couple months imo.

the indicator on the screen is a short circuit emblem (looks sort of like a no smoking sign). This, and the non-fire, is the Darwin telling you it is detecting a short circuit and it stops firing to protect the Darwin and you. Continuing to try to use the Darwin with a short - trying over and over again - can result in the Darwin tripping the secondary (back-up) hardware short circuit protection circuit and this will require you to send the device in to Evolv for repair (in other words - don't do it). The short could be in the adapter or the carto. While either (adapter and/or carto) may work fin on another device, the Darwin is reading a short and you are best advised to just throw that carto away. if it happens again with the same adapter - throw that away too. Hope this helps.

Ok so here is where I'm at, I get home, I put on a new adapter, but the vape is way weak, after a few minutes, same thing again, short symbol, so I unscrew the cartos and the adapter, try the cartos again, weak vape, I try a tank, I know this tank has a 3 ohm boge in it, its reading on the Darwin as 1.4 ohms, the same with a 2.8 ohm 801 Fusion it reads 1.3 ohms, after a few minutes, the short symbol again, could it be the adapter on the Darwin?

contact Evolv - sounds like you may have an issue. I am not 100% sure but it sounds like this may be the symptoms of continuing to try to activate with a short but I am not sure. either way, that sounds like Darwin and not the adapter. But you can always try another different adapter.

jkmtwo, did you try it for some time with no adapter, just to take that out of the mix? Pretty much all of these adapters are cheap little things. I know it just looks like a solid chunk, with internal and external threads, but I have heard more than one of dying because of tightening it down too much. It LOOKS like it should be a solid as a piece of pipe, but they sure aren't.

Hope you get it back soon. Mine did something kind of weird like that a few weeks after I got my Darwin. I had to send it in, but it was when they had that shortage of parts and it took a little over a month to get it back. I almost died from anticipation lol. I think I could go without it for a while now since I have 2 kicks and a crappy DNA mod I made. But then, all I had were VV devices and I wanted my VW back.

The prices in the classies isn't inflated, its Evolv and Nhaler who have a price that is more than fair when you consider that you can get $300 for a used Darwin, imagine the price point they could set for an unused Darwin.....

Thanks for the well wishes guys, Brandon promised me I'd have it back by the time I go to Hawaii.
