Does that assume some qualities of the juice and voltage used?

Of course. Naturally extracted juices, dark tobaccos, oil based flavorings etc. All are coil killers although not as fast. By standard resistance, I should have specified wattage. Think typical for the range that the echo battery can handle.

That darkening of juice in a clearo is scary and foul tasting. I rarely go past 2 refills before a dump and a cleaning on a broken in clearo. That last little bit pours out like syrup. It's just the gunk contaminating the rest of the juice. After awhile it's not even juice anymore but "backwash" so it's really not wasting juice by pouring it out.

I have a question on these ce4/stardust/crystal vision clearos. I know how to clean them which is very easy, but all the videos show doing a dry burn, I have a auto echo, how do u do a dry burn if you only have 650 and 1300 auto batteries? I'm assuming you can't which means I can't clean the gunk off my coils?

You can hold it up to a mirror and blow on the led end and get it to work but kind of a pain.:2cool:

You have to put batt end in your mouth and then blow to get it to activate the coil.

Your best bet is to buy the least expensive manual battery you can find for the express purpose of doing your dry burns as it is essential to getting vaporizers back to peak performance. I have some cigarette size batteries from my original kit that I use sometimes to make sure I don't overpower the dry coil.

On the other hand if Tex's suggestion works like a charm you've got it. :)

Good Morning All! My first post here (as far as I can remember  ) and I just wanted to throw in that I got DH the new Echo and he is LOVING it!!! Batt lasts forever, charges fast, nice neat rig and easy to use, and the carto holds GALLONS of juice!! (Okay, okay, so gallons might be a slight exaggeration, but I can't help it -- I'm from Texas! :D ;) )

Welcome to the Echo thread and consider yourself a member of the club.:toast: We are few in number being as the Echo isn't as popular as other PV's but only because not many have tried it. It is a great PV and the best auto on the market. You hit the nail on the head with your description, sleek looking, long lasting battery, Carto holds 3.4 ml of juice, easy to use and it vapes great. I'm a West Texan and we don't exagerate. lol I've been using one for over a year and it has worked very good for me. I use it mostly with my Kuwako pipe bowl and do use an echo clearo most of the time now because of being able to see how much juice I have in it but I think a fresh echo carto is better all around and holds a lot more juice. Vaping is a hobby now and I have several different PV's and setups that I use so it is important to know how much juice I have in them. It is impossible to keep track of when I filled them and is why I like to use clearos with them all. :)

I don't mean to change up the subject but does anyone know of a place that has some cool "drip tip" type tips for echo (808)? I know nhaler has some nice ones but they are like $6 a piece. I got there aluminum whistle tip and like it, but want to find some cheaper ones like the millions of 510 acrylic drip tips you see everywhere.

If you're using cartomizers the only ones I have found are made for an 801. VaporKings had a huge on-hand inventory of them for a really good price but I don't know if that is still the case. If you are using the Vision-type clearomizers you need to stick with what came with it. I tried some after-market drip tips in different colors and they are garbage. They make the clearo leak something fierce. YMMV

I use the hard plastic 801 whistle tips off of 801 cartridges. They are cheap and work very good. I get them here for 2.95 for five with free shipping. Empty Cartridges

Hi tx..........so you use cartomizers instead of the clearos? I used the 801 drip tips on cartos also. I had an email conversation with Rob @smoktek yesterday and he is currently moving operations but took the time to respond to my email. I asked him when he would be getting more 2.5 clearos w/flat tips and he said he doesn't have plans to order amy more of those. He did say he would reconsider if it made a big difference and my response was that I was sure my infrequent ordersmade no difference in his bottom line so I'm guessing I'm back to round tips (which I don't like) or the after-market flat tips which I don't like either 'cause they make the clearo leak. Oh well................

Can someone tell me how to disassemble and clean or just clean it. I seem to be having airflow restrictions.
Link to exact model and vendor:
Vision 808 Echo Transparent Clearomizer, 2.5 Ohm

If you need to get the shell off, you screw it onto an echo battery and hold both the battery and the bottom silver band of the clearo tightly. Grab the shell and wiggle, turn, wiggle, turn. It will pop off. Some of these are tighter than others. You may have to tap lightly with a small hammer on the top ring to get it back in.

You don't have to take the shell off for a routine cleaning though. You can just take a bent pin and pry up the silicon covering the air tube that the metal nipple sticks out of connecting to the screw-on tip. You can pry it up and get it out. Rinse, alcohol soak and dry burn till the coil smells nice and clean and glows nicely and the wicks look mostly white again. Avoid the sniff test though until there is no more smoke. Put the silicone back on and let the screw on tip push it back in place as you screw it on. This will ensure a tight seal and make sure the silicone isn't pinching the wicks. If the coil spits sometimes or sometimes drips down the airtube, there's a good chance the silicone is pushed down too tight.
