As stated in the video, this isn't a "head to head competition", it's a comparison of the ability of the Evo and the DSE-801 Classic. This is for those out there who wonder how they compare in performance.

Both of these PV's had freshly charged batteries and were using the same exact juice for the demo.

I hope this sheds some light on some things.

cool vid Terraphon, thanks for the time effort/ going to the trouble of putting yourself outhere and doing this , something i couldnt do

to me that vid showed a good bit of information comparing an ecig i do use to one i never have tried and hence has saved me time and money on possibly buying something that wouldnt be suitable for me

Frantory, I'm a little confused as to what the point of a side-by side is if they aren't going to be reviewed/compared as well, but your criticism was not very constructive and just started the thread off with some negative energy man.

Terraphon, a note about the video - there is a major volume difference between the level of your voice and the level of the music. I had to turn my computer volume all the way up to hear you, but then when the music came on it was blasting and my whole room started vibrating.

Sweet 80's rock music though, lol. This video would be completely awesome if you wore a mullet wig while using the two-ecigs.

The point of the video, Frantory, was to show a comparison of the base performance of the two models. If I had a robot servant that would vape for me, I would have had HIM do it. I'm saving up for one, now, though and should be able to start putting him in my videos by 2186...That way you won't have to see me being narcissistic any more.

While I'm at it, I'll go ahead and have him do my reviews, too...That way you won't have to sit and watch me...uhm...do reviews...

hmmm...I thought I had fixed the volume issue. I know there was a disparity but I mixed it down and it sounded spot on, on my end.

That was exactly the point of this vid, Billy. I wanted to show the comparison so that if someone out there had an evo and was thinking of getting a classic (or vice-versa) they would have something to do a comparison with to help them make up their mind.

I, for one, am glad I have both. They both perform very well and I love using both of them...I know that's not right for some people though so, as you said, it would be a waste of money on something you don't want / need.

If I can help someone save a few bucks in today's world, I'm happy.

The comparison was interesting, but I would be more curious to see a side by side without the mods you have made to the evo. I thinks the results were misleading.

I agree, the results could be misleading. I guess I should have said that people should take it for what it is...an evo at the top of its game being matched by a brand new pen style.

I reckon that the point I was trying to get across was that the pen style is a very viable route for people that want a lot of vapor, a big throat hit and huge cartridges. I didn't mean it as a competitive demo between the Evo and an 801 (the 801 would win on everything but cartridge size and overall size) but, like I said, more of a cross comparison...I also made sure to make it clear that my evo isn't bone stock and puts out a LOT of vapor...about double what I see most 401's making.

I enjoyed the review, but in silence as my PC was overpowering the commentary with the music to such a degree that I could not hear it without risk of blowing out the front windows!!
Was the EVO modified and if so, in what way?

ok...I'll post the vapor trick but only in this thread, only this once.

take a thumb-tack and poke holes all around the edge of the mouthpiece base...(There's already one there where the vapor comes out...basically, make a circle around it without breaking it or making any of the holes touch).

And VIOLA. Mega-Vapor

Like I said in prior posts, poor vapor, battery only puts out 2.8 volts on a full charge. And the carts, even after filling CAREFULLY, leak juice into my mouth. Intellicig has NOT been helpful in this matter. I am left with assuming your mods made this a SUPER EVO and people SHOULD NOT EXPECT the same performance from a "stock" EVO (thank you for pointing that out). I hate to rag on and on, but I feel people need to hear all sides of the story before putting their hard earned money out. Thanks again for all your efforts.

I don't believe that Intellicig have not been helpful, that's not been my experience at all. I'm picking up some liquid from their place today so PM me with your postcode or order number and I promise you will hear from them.

I have to say this;

When I do my review videos, the e-cigs I use are completely unmodified. They are ALL in their default, factory condition and I don't use any performance enhancing methods like over-volting the batteries, using cut liquids, using modified atomizers or mouthpieces or enhanced carts. Everything I do is the same as a brand new vaper would do.

In my review videos it's important to me to represent the true and accurate performance of the liquid I'm reviewing, as it would perform out of any PV it comes across so I make sure that I use clean carts with clean atomizers and charged batteries and that's it...nothing else.

In this video, the only hardware "modification" I used was the mouthpiece with extra holes in it and I was using cut liquid with both devices (the same liquid out of the same bottle). I wanted to show a simple comparison of the technologies. I knew that the pen style was going to blow the evo away on vapor production so I used the modified mouthpiece to show that even a super-mini style PV can come close in performance if it's used correctly.

Like I said in the opening of the vid, I didn't intend this as a form of competition or adversarial comparison, I just wanted to show what the styles act like.

As for your evo, I wish you good luck getting your issues sorted out. A properly working, well functioning evo is a thing of beauty and I hope you get to experience it before you give up.
