Y'know, after lots of frustration and fighting it off for a long time (I hate hype), I finally came to terms that the Prothingy might be the only thing Susazproof. But they don't ship to my location, so I'll have to pay more than twice (220 euro) to have it sent from Spain. I'm still thinking, I could buy at least 5 PVs for the price of that prothinghy...

Provari used to be the best thing since toilet paper.
BUT ... times have moved on, there are hundreds of mods that are built just as strong and have better electronics.

I don't see any reason to put that kind of money in yesterdays gimmick, when there are so many better gimmicks to play with.

I don't know exactly what it means, but I think it is just held up still.
My package from fasttech has been in"acceptance" stage since September 7th via USPS. I'm not too worried about it getting here, but I do wish it could be faster.
If will influence whether I purchase from China again. I know it isn't fasttech's fault, and they actually shipped the items faster than the ota on some items I ordered, but until the shipping situation is fixed,i will be ordering elsewhere.

During 2012 there were issues with the chinese post, EMS. You couldn't order from Healthcabin, and in the end it was cheaper ordering from the US. It all works out in the end, but since I'm far away anyway I prefer ordering from the US

now I'm getting worried,,,,,people who ordered AFTER me are getting their stuff,,,,,,,,,and mine sits for the 12th day. sigh.

I don't mind waiting,,,,,I just worry that it's lost,,,,,,,,,

how long do you wait until you assume it's lost???

Ive got one like that stuck. I've gotten 2 orders in my mailbox that I placed well AFTER that one. It's still sitting in HK as "accepted". Funny thing is, it's just a mech mod and led light bulbs. nothing that should supposedly cause a problem

I ordered a Vamo V3 from fasttech on 8/27. It's listed as "Acceptance" when I track the package. It took over a week from the time that I ordered it before it was listed like that. What exactly does that mean? Is there a chance that it will be returned to fasttech? I expected to have to wait, but Is three weeks excessive?

sounds like we're in the same boat,,,,,,,,,,the week was probably restocking,,,,,,,that's what happened to mine.

Vape mail! It's mostly for my wife, she is willing to try making the switch, but only "if it's pretty". I also got some dk-tab, but it's not nearly as exciting.

it's not the most gorgeous mod, IMHO,,,,,,,,,,but I'm not buying one for the looks :D

That is fine and ultimately up to the consumer.

What are you buying it for? Sub Ohm vaping? nah won't work... fine craftsmenship? eye of the beholder just like looks. durability? You should see my brick floor where I dropped my 37 dollar SVD. Vape quality? My volt, vision spinners, and SVD work comparably. I have read on mech mods the clones are sometimes better with voltage drop than the original. Safety? hmmm maybe a big maybe. If one is battery conscience the mod doesn't matter to an extent.

Ability to get it fixed? Got me there... I can't argue that. My spinners have lasted a year and still going strong. My volts a year and a half. If your out in the field working where rough and tumble is a daily part of your life. Yes, I can see that.

When I was 25 I had my 1000 dollar watch break. Now the most expensive watch I buy is 20 bucks. It keeps time just like the more expensive. It looks nice. It will pass as a decent quality watch. When something breaks or I get tired of it I buy another and don;t even think twice.

I would not buy one for the looks either :) If anything I would buy a mech mod with a kick. Less electronics.. less thing to break. 8 watts is 8 watts is 8 watts. :)

for several reasons,,,,,,,

for build quality, for the year warranty, for the ease of fixing if there is a problem, for the lack of problems those who have them have,,,,

a ton of reasons :) I'm tired of replacing devices,,,,,,,,,,I haven't even RECEIVED my Vamo yet, and I've done nothing but read about cross threading problems,,,,,,,My twists last 3 months, my Volts last 3 months,,,,,,,then they die and I have to replace them. I'm sick of it,,,,,,,,,I want a quality mod, easy to fix, that can take a licking and keep on ticking, that can be depended on to work a year from now.

having made my choice, however, I can certainly understand why some people wouldn't make the same choice,,,,,,,

nothing wrong with that, IMHO. Everyone's different :)

Aye mate, tis true. I always say it would be a pretty boring world if everyone looked the same and liked the same things.

I got the Vamo kit that included the little 18350 batteries. As it turns out, those two boogers are unprotected ICR cells and are not suitable for use in any APV, whether it's a mech or regulated device.

Battery question hijack:
Can a fuse be added to the mix to make those safe to use? Something like the Vapesafe?

What's the difference between a "protected cell" (not the safer chemistry cells; I'm talking about the cells with an actual protection circuit) and an unprotected cell with a safety device? I'm a battery newb and have looked for this info while researching the rest of my questions, but haven't really found an answer beyond yes or no...

Thanks!

Is there any difference other than looks and materials between the chi you clones? I noticed they differ in price. I was wondering if the most expensive one which is sold out is the best version. I noticed the all brass one is only 18490 mode.

Anyone?...
