I ordered last night from VB. It was 22.5 + 5.81 to ship it. My first time with them. I don't know what to expect really, but I just couldn't help myself. Some here have/are having shipping issues with that company too, but I rolled the dice and said "the baby needs shoes" LOL. Maybe I'll have good luck with this
The kit is suppose to come with both 'windows' (stainless, clear) as well as extra bits (o rings, wick, etc.). They have the polished version too

Me too, first time with VB, I guess we'll suffer and wait together.
I already have 1 rocket and 1 Kayfun 3.1 ES clone from FT (forget who makes that one) ... so this is more a nice to have, to hopefully retire the Rocket (I'm sorry but I think it's fugly, it does work great though)

I thought the Russian clone was not that much cheaper than the KFL?
Is this a clone of the Russian clone of the KFL or am I confused?

..LOLNot sure if this is the right place to post, but i ordered an oddy clone from FT and the build seems to be different than what im seeing online for the original Odysseus? there is only one kind of wire... mine also tasted like oil or something horrible like that haha. i thought it might be the wick so i tried to rebuild it using 28g kanthal and that didnt work... my zmax read it as 0.0ohms and it would not fire on my mechanical. in fact i think i got shocked haha. im not sure where/how to use no-resistance wire.
any else get one from here? i also couldnt find any videos on rebuilding an oddy clone, thus this post

I can't tell you about Oddys but I can tell you to always thoroughly clean an FT tank before use.
Yes, or at least the way I understand it, the russian 91% is a clone (with the airflow control feature) to the kayfun 3.1(no airflow control feature). The reason the russian is called the 91% is because the base piece is shorter and lighter, but essentially the same. The kayfun 'lite' originally was a clone of the russian (of sorts), but without the airflow control. The kayfun lite '+' has the airflow control.
Again this is only the way I understand it. I could be wrong. Someone please correct me if I am.
The one I ordered last night is the shorter, lighter version with the airflow control. (at least that is what the PICTURES say)
The one Fasttech is offering has the airflow control as well, but it's just a little taller. I would have got that (and I may still

. I live just outside of Hickory NC. Been to Greenville a FEW times LOLi made sure to thoroughly wash every thing after haha. i also head about the ceramic cup making it taste soapy? and that the cup needed to be burned of to get rid of the taste. i tried that as well but not much of a difference. possibly the original silica, but i havent rebuilt it yet since im not sure how to haha

Correct. Rumor has it that this may be the tobeco brand, but who can keep up with it. I will post my impressions with it when/if I get it. Could be awhile though
Saw a pic of a kraken on a caravela and almost pulled the trigger. Gonna wait for an updated version, or for the other clones to go down in price.
Quick recap
The russian is a clone of the original kayfun 3.1, after that Svoe Mesto released the Kayfun Lite(smaller, no AFC) and in the same week the guys that made the russian(which was a 1:1 clone of the kayfun3.1) released the Russian 91%(91% the size of the russian, AFC included).
The "russian" we see on VB looks like the Kayfun Lite clone by tobeco, the good thing about tobeco clones is that instead of copying the Kayfun Lite they decided to copy the Russian91% which has air flow control.

I like the way it looks. The battery is a tad big for my taste. I'm gravitating towards small and compact these days, however, it has the advantage that you can set the voltage to 3 different settings.
